I'm a huge fan of SSM and haven't watched too much of Cotto.
These numbers don't tell the true story of the fight otherwise we wouldn't have judges would we?
Cotto definitely won this fight.
The stats are remarkable.
Mosley landed more than Cotto in five of the 12 rounds while they both landed equal number punches in the final round:
Round - 3 (Mosley- 27, Cotto- 21)
Round - 5 (Mosley- 27, Cotto- 26)
Round - 7 (Mosley- 17, Cotto- 14)
Round -10 (Mosley- 26, Cotto- 19)
Round -11 (Mosley- 24, Cotto- 21)
Round 12 - Mosley-12, Cotto- 12.
This means that Cotto landed more in six rounds, and if the stats were to govern the decision, Cotto won by a single round.
Mosley threw more jabs (439) but landed less (71) than Cotto who threw 288 jabs and landed 98.
Cotto therefore landed 27 more jabs than Mosley.
In the power department, Cotto threw more (387) but landed less (150) compared to Mosley's 335 power punches thrown and 177 landed.
Mosley therefore landed 27 more power punches than Cotto.
Cotto edged Mosley in power punching only in:
Round 4 (Cotto-21, Mosley-20)
Round 6 (Cotto-15, Mosley-14)
Round 8 (Cotto- 12, Mosley-6)

Round 8 (Mosley-10, Cotto- 8)
The both landed equal numbers of jabs in:

Round 7 (Mosley-6, Cotto-6)
Mosley's power punching effeciency had a high of 64% connected (6th round) and a low of 43% (8th round). But it was also in the 6th that Cotto landed one more power punch than Mosley did (Cotto-15 to Mosley's 14, SEE above). Cotto's average in the 6th was lower (47%) but he threw more ( 32 to Mosley's 22).
Cotto's power punching effeciency had a high of 47% and a low of 28%.
He was missing a lot more than Mosley did in the power department.
Mosley's best powerpunching round was in the 5th when he landed 22.
Cotto's was in the 4th when he landed 21.
When it came to jabs, Mosley's best was in the third when he threw the most number of any round (49). He landed 12. His worst was in the 9th when he landed 2 out of 33 tries, or 6%.He improved that average in the 10th, but not by much: 9 percent. 3 Out of 33 thrown.
The 1st round and the 6th were tied for the best rounds for Cotto when it came to jabs. He landed 11 in both. His worst was in the 10th when he landed only five out of 16 thrown.
Mosley's least offensively active round was in the first when he threw 44 punches. Cotto's least active was in the final round; he threw 43.

Cotto was most active in round 3 when he threw 70 punches. His second most offensively active round was the ver next round (round 4) when he threw 69.
These are what the stats are saying...
i said according to those numbers man . i tought i made it clear that i havent seen the fight yet. i never said that i am 100% sure that mosley won that fight. just that if those numbers only were my source , i would have tought mosley won. but im not jumping to conclusions just because some numbers.
Ooh ok. Just making sure.. Because there be some deluded posters up in this forum. Good you're not one of them.
But yea.. The fight should be upped by tomorrow.
If you have a WBVA account then you should be fine also.
Cotto landed cleaner punches. Also Mosley would clinch several times later on. Watch the fight. Numbers are somthing, but if you didn't watch the fight. I think you should before saying anything.
The jab was landing good and when it was landed... You can see Mosleys head move back.
Cotto was a lil more conservative than Mosley in total punches.

I would download it in HD and possibly split it and upload it, but I can't download DVD's on WBVA.
Sucks....
It should be up by tomorrow.
Cool, man. :friday:
Cotto = Undefeated
Definately, even focused that's a fight that has to be reviewed multiple times. We need that fight uploaded!

Numbers were so close in between rounds..
Great fight!
Mosley landed more power punches... Cotto landed more jabs and threw fewer.. along with a total of 248 throwing 99 less punches than Mosley..
Ima need to watch it again.

I've not seen the fight yet. Sounds like it was a good one.
It was pretty good, but both guys did a frustrating job of letting the other survive. Neither one of them lived up to the war talk.
Mosley said he was coming for blood, and Cotto said it would be the greatest fight we'd ever seen.
It didn't quite work out that way. At all.
