it wasnt a bad fight and i dont regret paying for it, but it was disappointing because the fight could have been so much better. the first half of that fight was awesome. but in the middle rounds, mosley got on his toes, flicked his jab, and ran away. then in the later rounds, inexplicably, cotto got on his bike and started peddling. the 12th round was really a downer. neither fighter did anything in that round.
if neither fighter ran away, this fight would have been fantastic. but i paid to see a fight, not half a fight with a mix of jogging.
props to mosley. he hung tough, hes tougher than i thought he was. he was a very good sport about losing, too. mosley's a role model for professional athletes.
i think max kellerman is the only person stupid and/or biased enough to suggest a rematch.
i liked what lampley said "most fighters would have said 'i won the fight, it was a robbery!'". everyone knows that's a jab at floyd. (yes, floyd has never lost, but you KNOW thats what his reaction would be)
cotto was far more superior to mosley
sugar shane from the outset had no chance
cotto was quality through out he wore mosley down
true it wasnt a classic
and id like to see him up against margrito or the winner of hatton mayweather
COTTO COTTO COTTO
hes won me mo money :)
are you related to the judges who scored the casamayor/santa cruz fight by any chance
when mosley backed up and boxed the judges gave the rounds to cotto when cotto backed up and boxed the judges gave the rounds to cotto well at least we know what they like they like cotto no matter what
when you say mosley was boxing cotto....mmm he was just tapping his left hand on cottos head, that is not boxing somebody. mosley didnt box cotto tonight, he couldnt. cotto always came back with a jab that landed almost all the time and in that way he stopped mosley. i was suprised about that btw. also cottos jab was really strong....on the other way, mosley jabs were too weak.

:twak: Do you even understand boxing. What fight were you watching?.............Damn Lay-boxing fans get on my ****ing nerves. Where are my Die-hard fans that know what the **** they are talking about. How can you say he wore Mosley down, when in fact he got on that bike from round 9 on.
he wore mosley down? DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE FUCKING FIGHT mosley wore him down and made him run/box lol yeah right the final 5 rounds
F**k me chill dude
course i watched the fight, okay he maybe didnt wear mosley out
but mosley had to change tactics cos the way he was going he had no chance against the better cotto
I wouldnt call it a disappointment myself because there was alot of action IMO!!! Hats off to cotto for beating shane in the fashion he did!!! I never thought he would do it so easy!!!
It was a very good fight I thought, not FotY, but very good. This fight was kind of a chess match despite the fact that there was some slugging. You saw both Mosley and Cotto adapt and change tactics, one round boxing, one round punching. A very good fight between two A class fighters; not the least bit disappointed.

I don't understand how people say they ran.
Shane was outboxing and Cotto was just trying to create distance looking for better shots. That and both of them were trying to recover because the infighting took a lot out of them.
People kind of forgot that Shane likes to clinch sometimes.
Uhhh...Cotto did most of the clinching tonight buddy. Can't blame him though, he got off a bunch of extra shots on Shane which wore him down. It's part of the game they have to deal with.
It's all about expectations. This was exactly what I thought it would be a good fight, short of great. A classic fight is more like Margarito/Cotto. People kind of forgot that Shane likes to clinch sometimes.
The first 7 rounds where amazing back to back action ( just like Calzaghe-Kessler)
The 8th and 9th Mosley started backing off on his toes, jabbing and moving, the 10th round Cotto backed off,he looked a bit tired,it wasnt FOTY but it was a solid fight
.................
Somebody mustv'e been high to call the mosley/cotto fight a "disapointment"!
It was a hell of a fight , imo. Way better than the crap Mayweather and Delahoya gave us. Fight was a very close fight and couldv'e gone either way.

agree, but i felt mosley was boxing well when he backed up, cotto didn't do so good when he backed up

Both fighters ran a bit but they were both seriously hurt when they opted to do so. Doesn't take away from the fact that they traded bombs for several rounds. It does knock it out of the FOTY category though, with the holding and running.
