I thank it too. Finally the promoters are caring more for the fan. Friendly competition helps the product. Just ask the WWE, once WCW went down their ratings have dropped dramatically.
I dont think MMA and boxing are even alike. I always say completely different sports, but if people are going to pit them against eachother then it will definitely help the product.
I wouldent say Dec - Feb is looking too good. January has Penn Vs Stevenson for the interim title as the main event. And Feb has Lesnor in his second MMA fight headlining a PPV. That dosent look too appealing to me, but hey I dont pay for them so it dosent matter.
Well, in Dec. you got Huerta/Guida and a possible Mac Danzig fight at the TUF Finale. A Rob Macullogh and a Uriah Faber title fight(s) with Jens Pulver taking on Cub Swanson in the WEC. 79 is Serra/Hughes, Silva/Liddell and I think the Return of Manny.
While yes, Jan has that stupid interim fight with Penn and Stevenson you also got the high impact rematch between Gonzaga and Werdum.
And Brock isn't headlining Feb. Tim Silvia vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria is. Brock/Mir is third show.
eeehhh. MMA in general isn't slumping per say, but yes, televised MMA in America is. While this next UFC card has about....one-two good matches, they're going to blow there load Dec-Feb. but it's up in the air after that. A lot of people have some good fighters signed, so we'll see.

MMA IS having somewhat of a small slump right now but just like boxing, only takes one or two fighters to bring it back to the limelight.

I wouldent say MMA is dying, but If they were selling stock for MMA and Boxing I would deffinatelly buy boxing.
I hope it dosent die because I like streaming all the PPV's for free.
MMA is done. No real stars anymore other then Silva/St.Pierre and everyone is starting to clue in. With no American stars and american fan base the sport will fall.
Bye bye MMA.
Lol! Either you know absolutely nothing about MMA or you are biased….

why poison this thread? and try and make it a boxing vs mma thread?
When it's competition everyone steps their game up. That is how things should be and the real benefactors from this will be the fans.
exactly a little competetition doesnt hurt. boxing used to be spoiled. this year they delivered nothing but great fights.
