I just watched the Taylor vs Pavlik fight again. :boxing:
So entertaining.
Gotta be one of the Fights of the Year so far. Pavlik put the hurtin on him so bad. This is truly the first time Taylor has been beat so decisively. We know he's always been on the good receiving end of a decision. Bastard nearly wins every close call. It's good to see him beat by someone who was more game and came prepared and willing to go to hell and back. Pavlik showed maddd heart. I almost tear when Taylor is backed up in the corner and Pavlik is layin the smack down in Round 7. Such a great story for the kid from Youngstown.
Fast forward to Jermain Taylor's interview, after he rushes out of the ring and is hiding in his locker room - man, did Taylor eat some humble pie. Dude looks shook, not even himself, a shell of a man and fighter. Seriously. :puppy_dog
He's stuttering, trying to find his words, trying to get his brain to stop swelling and moving around his thick head. I especially like when Larry Merchant asks him if Pavlik is the best fighter he has faced. Taylor starts stuttering like a mofo and says something along the lines of, "yeah, he strong, he can punch."
I don't see why Taylor would want another ass kicking. A fighter is never the same when they get knocked out like that. When he sees Pavlik in the ring - when they rematch, he's gonna be :owned:
They were on the way to robbing pavlik, good thing he ended things before then.
I think its a good move for JT to a certain extent because its in his hands to have a rematch and if he DOESNT do so, itll make him seem weak. At the same time, its not easy to bounce back from a KO like that and I dont think the results of the next fight would be any different, so why do it? Pavlik should fight Duddy, Abraham, and then Calzaghe and Kessler. Imagine if he KO'ed all 4 of those guys AND unified the middleweight and supermiddleweight divisions. ATG status.
ok well i had it 57-56 pavlik so it was close but it was pavliks fight he was in control cept for when he almost died of course
i would'nt agrue with that it was close
also please learn how to score fights winning 2 rounds and getting a knockdown is not equal to winning 3 rounds LOLLERSKATES for crying out loud
all im saying is that Taylor was at least Even on the cards when the fight was stopped
taylor was not winning the fight stop spreading lies
Taylor was at least even on the cards he won the first round & scored a 10/8 in second round thats 3 rounds in the bank already

HAHAHAHA, I agree 100%. Kelly Pavlik is Jermain Taylor's daddy. He is an abusive father though, he likes to knockout his own son Taylor and use him as a personal punching bag, I thought Pavlik was a nicer guy than that.
