Even Floyd himself has stated that the motivation is no longer there for him:
"I'm really not into boxing anymore.....It's hard to come here every day when I know I can sit at home in a 12,000-square foot mansion and make $100,000 a month."
The answer he gave when asked how he motivates himself to go the gym everyday before a fight. If he starts to get complacent, which will always happen when you have the confidence of Mayweather, and begins skipping training, the fitness wont be there and Hatton will drag him into a war and the Pretty Boy will have no answer and may give it up there and then.
I never heard that... All I heard was, "I'm dedicated to the sport of boxing, I'm hungry..."
f he wins i think it will be by a tko or ko.
i think that floyld is aware he has a few mroe fights and won't go for a ko risking damage to his ahnds.
i think that hatton could be out boxed if he lsoes.
i aslo think that hatton has a chance to win by putting pressure on floyld and with his constant body attacks. body punchers can take ti out of boxers and slow them down. if hatton does what he is good at, the ebst he has ever done it then he can win.
it's about 65/35 that floyld will win. then again it will take a few roudns for me to be sure. sometimes by the 6th you can sense who will win.
THing people should take account in this fight.
Hatton would come in as best form as even , Because it his chance to become a superstar and even best british boxer coming form Britian
Mayweather got good chin and heart, He move around does not mean he fear someone but it means he is moving around. It like Matador vs a Bull, the Matador moves around not because he fears the bull but beacause he takes his shot at ti and wear its down. And I know Mayweather got good chin not only because of Oscar fight but because of his training where he doesnt the weight lift with his neck strap.
Hatton is today best body puncher maybe even the 2nd after Cotto. Bodypunch take alot away but the effect shows in later round. He doesnt have strong bodypunch but it more of volume. But as he goes for the body his head and chin is expose. Hitting on the chin will KO you even if you got a super strong chin just look at Hearns vs Duran.
Hatton is a much better boxer than people often give him credit for. Yes he likes to swarm and yes he likes to keep constant pressure, but when that doesnt work he simply turns on the boxing style and overcomes most opponents that way. Do I think Hatton will outbox Floyd? No, but he will be able to live with him until he spots his chance. If Hatton can land his crunching left hook to the body of Mayweather its a different fight. Floyd will run like a bitch after hes felt Hattons power, and thats what Hatton needs to do, hurt him early and slow him down. Expect to see a very different Hatton to the last time he stepped up to welterweight. Last time out he was slow and cumbersome. This time hes coming in at very slightly over the light welter limit, which means we are going to see the usual Hatton but a bit stronger and punching harder. The gameplan Hatton should use would be to simply box tightly behind a good defense early, use his movement to frustrate Mayweather (and contrary to popular belief he does move well enough to frustrate him), and then swarm him when he spots an oppurtunity. Nobody is expecting Hatton to try and box his way through this one, least of all Floyd, so thats the easiest way to throw Floyd off. Im picking Hatton to do the business on this one, and I also think serious questions need to be asked of Floyds willingness to go to war. Hatton to win by TKO after Mayweather quits on his stool around the 8th.
You made some good points until the end... Floyd's heart and will to win have never been questioned by anyone who knows anything about boxing... I think it may Floyd off for a couple rounds if Hatton doesn't just all out swarm him... But, that's definitely not where Hatton wants to be... He wants this fight in close quarters up against the ropes or in the corners... I honestly believe the only way he can win is to take a lot of punishment coming in head first and hope he can hurt Floyd...
lol imagine if mayweather quit on his stool, all of his fans would have a heart attack.
Mayweather is not in his mid-30s coming from a shoulder surgery and fighting in Britian so it different fight
but that is the only way I think he could beat Mayweather but it is going to be dirty for his side and I dont think he could go for 12 round like that. I is mostly dependent on pushing Mayweather and but sometimes he could lay on Mayweather shoulder when he is grappling is a good idea.
But still I would go with Mayweather in term of Mayweather agility is far better than any fighter Hatton faces and the Shoulder roll is going to deflect many of the left hooks Hatton going to hit and counter with an uppercut. AS Hatton put forward his with a left hook and his head is front he is going to eat a straight right.
So it mostly Mayweather advantage all the time the only way to win for Hatton is he could hit alittle grapple and push backward and I dont see it happening alot due to size difference, speed and reach.
agreed... karma your way...
That would be the idea... But, his reach is so much shorter that the jab could be easily countered by someone like Floyd... If I'm not mistaken Floyd's reach is like 72"... Hatton's reach is much shorter... And compared to Dela Hoya and Castillo fights, it's shorter than their's too..

I understand your point, Hatton will either look incredibly strong and bullying on the night or Floyd will be able to "tame" him and make him look stupid with catching him coming in and superior lateral movement to offset Ricky's attack. However the amount of dedication Ricky will put in to the fight of his life may prevail and we may see an upset.
I agree... Only because anything is possible... But, Floyd has shown the dedication and desire to be the best ever... And we've all seen he loves attention... When all the attention is on him, he loves to perform... From what I know of Hatton, he has a extremely strong will to win, work ethic and dedication to be great... What separates Floyd from that is his extreme dedication to be the best and just his natural God given abilities...
I going to say He need to come jab come close grapple and push Floyd to the ropes as he does that grapple and left hook to the body.
But he will be using alot of energy and Mayweather uses his jab and being of the fight so that is the only possiable way I could think of and he is going to take couple of shots

Good post... But, do you think Floyd will be stationary like that punching bag? He has been one of the best in this era at dictating where in the ring the fight is and controlling the action...

Don't let my sig distract you... We're talking about the Hatton fight... Back to the topic at hand...

this is recent footage of hatton looking in great form. Clearly the game plan is pressure and to close down floyd.

Ricky has fast feet therefore will be able to close the distance very quickly. If he is in the best shape of his life to accomidate for a sustained pressure attack then i think he has a chance to pull it off.

is he the first fighter that faced floyd to think of that game plan for floyd?
Lol. Floyd will be flat ass broke in ten years at the rate he spends it.

Hatton will have to sell completely out to get inside... Meaning he will have to basically charge in... His reach is way too short to work his way in... And that's asking for punishment, charging into Floyd... Correct?
