Fighters that fans hate for silly reasons

Larry Holmes was a flat-out shameless racist. He also beat some o the best heavyweight fighters, so who gives a fuck about his personal life?

Yea, i can see your point i'm sure it must get annoyin for some people i personaly like it, i do the same in the gym, not one boxer in the world is in boxing to say they are second best, everyone thinks they are the best and some people just say it a little more "rude" than others day, Larry Holmes IMO would beat Rocky Oh, don't get me wrong. I find nothing wrong with it. I was just playing Devil's Advocate. If you fight like a great fighter, I see nothing wrong with the claims. I was just saying what others might be thinking.

Holmes is one of my fav fighters also and very underated or unappreciated. I think this was because of the Ali fight, the trash talking and the fact he was sandwiched inbetween possibly the 2 most exciting heavyweights ever in Ali and Tyson.

Well.. when you're a loud-mouth and insult fighters from the past who can't get in the ring to prove you wrong, you're bound to have criticism, because even you can't back the claim up. It's making a claim to something that will never be proven or disproven. That shits annoying. Otherwise, he was a great fighter, in my opinion. A fighter, today, who gets hated on, for a silly reason is Alfonzo Gomez. Yes, he was on a reality show. Big deal. He was there with naturally bigger and stronger guys and won the bronze medal. Since then, he's stepped up and excelled and people still give him shit. Makes no sense.
