Kessler over Pavlik easily. Kessler is very fast on his feet and has good movement for a big puncher. I don't think he would would knock out Pavlik but he would easily decision him and feed Pavlik a lot of power shots all night long. When Taylor was using simple boxing against Pavlik he would hae success and Kessler is a great 'simple' boxer. Kessler still impressed me last night and didn't lose any stock in my eyes as a fighter. He fought his heart out with a solid fight plan but just couldn't execute against a guy whose style was all wrong for him but Kessler still maintained his worth even in defeat.
pavil has a chance against them , but a slim chance , but think about it , if a calzaghe bodyshot hurt kessler then what would a pavlik bodyshot do? if his power is just as devasting as in 160.
Calzaghe has serious power when he digs it in. Until a few years ago he was more power puncher than volume. You don't just lose all that.
I'm firmly of the opinion that staying at 168 reduces his power. It'll be interesting to see how he'll look at LHW ... I think he'll look much better for it.

kessler said joe has a style that spoils a fighter. i think he meant that joe adapts and makes you fight the way you don't intend to. i am not sure if pavlik is someone who can adapt. i mean kessler only had 2 rounds with big shoits, but against soemone without the movement of joe i htink they would lose.
joe outboxed him. pavlik can not do that to kessler i don't think. kessler has a great jab, yet he didn't throw any. perhaps joe was too open which made him go for the power shots rather than jab.
joe is too skillful for pavlik. he moves a lot and can finish. he can take a punch and then adapt if he realsies that he is getting hit.
Nah, Pavlik would dishearten Kessler by walking through his best punch just like Joe did. Kessler doesn't box nearly as well when he has to retreat. Kelly Pavlik does not move backwards, he only goes forward. After Kessler realized that Pavlik can eat his best punch, he would go defensive and Pavlik would lay the steel on him.
They said that about Kessler until last night.
Calzaghe either stops him or wins by a very wide UD.
Kessler stops Pavlik. No need for the judges.
Pavlik got lucky against Taylor. People need to remember that.

The Taylor shot was lucky. He hit Pavlik right on the temple, early in the fight when he had all his energy. Compare that punch to the one that put Jermain's lights out. It was a clean right hand directly on Jermain's chin. THAT is power. Anyone can get hit on the brain, and lose their legs for a minute or two. Pavlik is NOT easy to hurt at all. Kessler wouldn't be able to hurt him, IMO. If Calzaghe's jabs can swell Mikkel's eye shut, imagine what Pavlik's right hand would do.
Against Calzaghe, I give Joe the edge over Pav, but like I said Joe is easy to hit. Pavlik has a definitely puncher's chance.
Calzaghe would decision Pavlik pretty easily because of how much the handspeed difference is. Kessler would have a harder time but he would win by KO. Taylor almost knocked him out and Kessler hits harder and is more accurate. Unless Pavlik caught him with a big right like he did Taylor before he gets KO'ed.
Pavlik knocks out Kessler. Mikkel is real good, but Pav would tag him often. He stands infront of his opponents, just like Taylor, only he moves better and keeps his hands up. But he's still standing right there in punching range. Pavlik beats everyone that will stay at the edge of his fists. Kessler would last into the later rounds before getting KO'd.
Joey Crack probably beats Pavlik in a UD, but this is not certain. Pav would rock him early, but Joey comes back hard after he takes a good one. I'm convinced his chin is solid. Although, he's very open to get hit himself. I think Pavlik punches harder than Kessler at 168, but that's speculation. Pavlik definitely has a chance.
I wish Joe would fight Pavlik instead of Hopkins, but I think he's planning to fight Pavlik anyway after he builds his name a little bit first. Calzaghe/Pavlik wouldn't sell as good right now than it would after Joe beats Bernard and Pavlik beats Jermain again and maybe Arthur Abraham.
