Although Shane Mosley is a three-time world champion, WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto who faces Mosley November 10 on PPV at Madison Square Garden, said today that he has already been in with better. "I think Zab Judah was a more dangerous fighter than Shane Mosley," Cotto told a large legion of reporters today.
On Mosley's claims that he has the advantage in speed and strength:
I don't have to be stronger or quicker than Shane. I have to be more intelligent and I plan to do that November 10th.
On his advantages over Mosley:
I'm always going to fight with my whole energy and that's the advantage I have over Shane Mosley.....I don't think that at the age of 36-years-old he can handle Miguel Cotto.
On Jack Mosley's claim that the Cotto is a dirty fighter:
I'm a fighter and you have to do what you have to do to win. (Cotto added that the low blows in the Zab Judah fight were unintentional.)
On Mosley's prediction of a KO win:
He's the latest to say that. I've had thirty guys say the same thing and no one has been able to do it yet. I don't think that this is going to be the exception.

I cant what until Nov 10. This is going to be one hell of a fight.
Not necessarily scared, but he has much more pressure than Mosley going into this fight.
I can't agree with Judah being more dangerous than Mosley...... More explosive at the onset....YES.
Possibly why, there is alot of pressure on him no doubt about it! He seems like the type that handles it well tho :boxing:
Another thing mabey he's been TOLD to liven up a bit cause sum excitement because, and lets not forget im a huge fan, He's Boring as Fuck!!!
Mosley is much better than Zab and he is stronger. I cant believe everyone thinks Judah hits harder, who has he serioulsly hurt (beat to show this). Mosley has been in with a prime DLH and beat him and hurt him. Judah would be blasted out quick by DLH. Shane has also in with WInky and Forrest. Also Shane has better stamina, does better body work, has a better chin, and is an all around better fighter than Judah. In the JUdah VS Cotto fight Zab wouldnt let his hands go cause he was afraid of whats coming back, Shane will lets his hands go and although i still favor Cotto i would not be surpriesed to see Mosley knock him out. PEace
Uncool, this int cotto's style, mabey he's scaired?
Addison u like earing about rumbles eh?
I Smashed sum fool outside the Dizzie Rascal concert i was at 2nite in Glasgow:chairshot ! Fuckin Prick!

Judah was more dangerous in the early, early rounds than Mosley, but overall, there is no doubt that Mosley is the better fighter.
With Judah, if you are a fan (like I have been), you are hoping for the home run. His chances in big fights have always hinged on his power/quickness combination, but he has never been able to put it together for an entire fight--generally fading toward the end.
In Spinks I, he hit a desperation home run, but Spinks made it to the final bell and got the W. In the rematch, Zab nailed it, and all the sudden he was undisputed welterweight champ. In his next fight against Cosme Rivera, he hit another home run and his stock was at an all-time high.
The point is Zab can't hit singles and doubles, to further this baseball analogy. Against Baldy, win the home run wasn't there, Zab looked lost and eventually got hurt and ran. Against Mayweather, he looked great in the first four rounds and then began to fade once Floyd figured him out. Ditto Cotto.
Shane is a master of "small ball" who can thrive on singles and doubles-type offensive attacks with his quick combinations. He has the ability to control a fight with boxing like he did against Collazo. He has some power still, but not like Zab. The point here, like so many have said, is that Zab is pretty one dimensional and Shane is not, but Zab's one dimension is more dangerous.
I think that is what Cotto is saying.
Good post. But going beyond that I think the primary source of trouble for Zab is his inability to focus after his opponents start to hurt him. Once you shake Judah up there's a better than good chance his body will still be there to beat on, and his mind will be somewhere else.
That's what fucks up Zab Judah.
Cotto is ALWAYS saying I can't answer this question, and I can't answer that question because "I haven't been in the ring with this guy yet."
Ask ANY scribe who's tried to ask Cotto a question about an opponent he hasn't faced. There is no exception to that.
Cotto is full of SHIT on this. 1000%. He's a damn hypocrite.
He leaves virtually no cracks or openings in his persona but he's been exposing himself during this promotion.

I think that is what Cotto is saying.
What do some of yall expect people to say when the truth is that Mosley is old but that doesn't mean Mosley isn't still a top tier fighter. I see nothing wrong with beating a past his prime great fighter. To me the credit you get off beating a past his prime fighter should be determined by how much past his prime that fighter is. I don't think Mosley is too far past his prime where Cotto shouldn't get a good amount of credit for the victory. By the way I like Mosley a lot more than Cotto but I think Cotto is going to win.
What I don't understand is why do you guys keep bringing Judah up, this guy is a bum and always will be, what is so special about this crybabay???? I was so happy when Kosta knocked his ass out and shut his big mouth up. I don't see Mosley beating Cotto, I know Cotto is stronger than this guy and ultimately it's Cotto's time to shine even after beating this old man which is exactly what everybody is going to say when he loses.....
Mosleys past his best but due to the fact he's 1 of the best fighters that ever lived he's still tearing it up! The guy has PLENTY left in the tank so i hope Cotto's victory (Should it come!) isnt played down.
Im starting to get REALLY Pumped for this fight! It cant fail 2 be good! :boxing:
Interesting post, I haven't heard anyone say Cotto would dominate Mosley in the exchanges. Mosley can still put punches together fast, no matter how sloppy he can at times be, so I think Cotto should be more tactical early. We'll see how it goes.
That's because that guy is a fucking IDIOT. HaHa..
But I like a good heel. Don't get me wrong.
True, and I disagree for that being the sole reason. I just think that's the easy answer. Mosley is old in years, but by watching the Collazo fight, he's not yet done as a fighter. I should say most people will come out and say Mosley golt old over night, or was shot. It will be the same excuse with the Castillo/Hatton fight. That's what I'm expecting.
Let me ask you this, if Cotto wins would you give him credit?
:crying: Dude.
Why wouldn't I?
I haven't ever ONCE twisted reality. FACTS ONLY.
Have you heard me saying Mosley is OLD or trying to tear down Shane's career the way that YOU have??? People like yourself are making it hard to give Cotto the credit he deserves. If Cotto wins the establishment will make less of it because of all this talk.
he is 100% correct, Mosley is too willing to trade unlike Judah who knows how to Box from a distance and find his niche.. people are so quick to put Judah under this "ignorance" light that they forget what the more humble Mosley does and thats exchange when he finds the right times, against Cotto an exchange is a sign, sealed and released statement to lose.. Cotto will obliterate Mosley if he decided to exchange with him, easily at that, Mosley's best approach is to apply the sweet science to it's fullest, more than what Cotto can keep up with and basically not exchange just pick and choose his shots.. we ALL know Mosley though and we know that when given an oppurtunity to bang out he will to the fullest degree and he will fold against the younger fighter who has more left in the tank.. I don't want to see Mosley get KO'ed horribly but that WILL happen if he decides to exchange which just so happens to be something he CAN'T avoid doing, he'll do it without even realizing it and just get caught up in a blaze.. more and more I see a career defining KO for Cotto and the end of a living legends campaign in the sport of Boxing.. 100

Mosley is OLD right now.
That's 99.99% reason for picking Cotto.
RIGHT??????????????

you know a true sign of Cotto learning from getting rocked in the first few rounds of the judah fight will be him coming out a little more on the conservative side w/Mosely. Regardless of the speculation surrounding Cotto's beard Mosley is a dangerous foe for anyone and Cotto should give himself some time to adjust to Mosley's speed and style. I defintely dont like Cotto's attitude that Judah was better than Mosley. Maybe better for 4 or 5 rounds but Mosley is a badass not to be underestimated.
I'm just being sarcastic my dude. People just look at Mosley as a saint. It's obvious by the way people reacted to the steroid problems.
Imagine if it was found out that Cotto took HGH leading up to one of his earlier fights. People would be all over that, but Mosley is off limits. That's just the way things work around here, and I've learned to deal with it. If Cotto wins it wont take long for people to call Mosley old.
Mosley is OLD right now.
That's 99.99% reason for picking Cotto.
RIGHT??????????????
