you make it sound like he beat the cream of the crop year after year, his opponents were very carefully selected, the world class fighters were past their best. let me make it simple for you, the first TRULY world class fighter hamed fought completely boxed his ears off and had nh flailing and flapping like a complete amateur. end of.
he beat the best of the featherweight division at the time, except for espinosa.
hamed is hardly the first guy to beat the top guys in a weak division, and some of them are in the hall of fame or will be in the hof soon.
He friggin quit after getting beat. I say no.
Kostya friggin quit as he was getting beat. I dont hold it against him at all, hes an automatic Hall of Famer.
I dont hold it against Naz either, even though I hate the little bastard.
and it makes me laugh that a fighter isnt a HOF fighter just because they got beat by an all time great, even if they get dominated. If so, say goodbye to Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, and a shitload of other guys.
People who say Hamed shouldnt be in there cannot justify why Tyson should be in there.
a fluke is a one-time thing.
hamed beat world class featherweights for 5 years.

tyson had greater achievements than hamed.
tyson's an obvious hall of famer.
i don't mind hamed getting in.
if and when arturo gatti gets in, that's when i'll draw the line.
My vote is no, after barrera he should have kept fighting to show the world he wasn't a fluke.

tyson remains the youngest heavyweight champion ever at 20yrs, that record doesnt look like getting broken any time soon so fo this reason alone i think tyson deserves his place in the hof
Without a doubt, he was good for boxing and was arguably the most powerfull punching featherweight of all time, who can forget his devastating knock out of Augie Sanchez (a guy who beat Mayweather as an amateur) the commisioners of the fight demanded to see his gloves after because they couldnt beleive the Power.
and he beat MANY good fighters Madina, Paul Ingle and Soto come to mind.
He also made good fighters look average (Steve Robinson and Boom Boom Johnson)
You do know that prior to facing Hamed, Augie Sanchez was knocked unconscious (with one punch) by a journeyman ? It took a helluva a lot
more Hamed punches to take out Augie, didn't it ? Augie also did virtually
nothing to earn that shot at hamed, & yet he still dropped Hamed (horrendous missed-call by the ref) & looked like he had a great shot at beating Hamed. The Sanchez fight, is certainly no fight for a Hamed supporter to hang his hat on......not for power or for accomplishment.
Did you see when Augie fought John Michael Johnson ? Yeah, knocked out cold by the first punch Johnson threw at him.
Actually, those were average fighters that made Hamed look great until Hamed ran into a real great fighter: Barrera, who made Hamed look less than average.
He was certainly beaten well but to say he made Hamed look less than average is crazy. Barrera won by 5 rds, 3 rds and 3 rds on the cards, Barrera if you recall boxed behind a high guard and outboxed Hamed.
Tatically he found a way to beat Hamed but purely by the manner in the way he boxed shows that he had respect for Hameds power so to say he made him look less than average........?
Hamed was a big mouth and cocky but he was an excellent fighter, every knowledgeable boxing fan can see that..surely?

I dont get it. Hamed is a top 10 featherweight of all time. That is enough to make you a HOF fighter, isnt it??
sure as hell is enough in my book.
He beat plenty of good fighters, had a lot of successful title defences, and was a pretty damn big name.
seems pretty clear to me.

spot on bro that is about as accurate as it gets those facts are undisputable IMO, Im not a huge Naz fan but the guy was a great fighter and anyone who disagrees is only doing so because they dislike him as a person seperate the man from the boxer and he was without doubt 1 of the best TOP 10 featherweights in the world ever

i suppose you could justify his induction on the grounds that he was the biggest twat face prick in the sport. ever.
LOL. Although thats true, Hameds achievements probably make him more than worthy of the HOF.
He was champion for 6 years.
Won 4 world titles.
Beat 9 other former or future champions. Stopping 7 of them. KO'd Tom Johnson who had never been stopped in 44 fights and had made 11 successful defences of his title.
TKO'd Manuel Medina stopped only once in 52 fights.
All by the age of 28.
Only losing once. Stopping 31 out of 36 opponents.
Im not sure what else he could have done apart from beat Barrera.
Compared to others on the list , Hamed did more than enough to deserve to be inducted despite being a total fucking idiot.

Also he attracted an inormous amount of attention to the lower weight classes and was a credit to boxing. Just not humanity.
