SOMEBODIES "O" HAS GOT TO GO!
floyd has been fighting world class fighters since he was 18-0?
are you crazy.
floyd didnt REALLY start fighting anything close to world class fighters until about 2000-2001.
hatton fought "over the hill fighters"...
what about mayweather who took on (as you said) a war beaten gatti, an aging de la hoya (just out of his prime who almost beat him...in my opinion he DID beat him)?
true, hatton hasnt been in with exactly what i'd call world class fighters unless they were out of their prime etc. but he has fought some pretty good competition.
neither fight's resume REALLY stands out (when it comes to opponents) other than maybe:
for mayweather:
corrales, castillo, and de la hoya
two of those 3 fighters are STILL sworn by many to have beaten floyd and i agree (with at least the de la hoya fight that floyd lost the fight)
hatton fought war torn fighters too (dont get me wrong) like jose luis castillo.
all the, "who had the best record or better opponents" talk doesnt mean anything.
Just because one guy beat one guy more impressively or fought better competition doesnt exacly mean it will determine who will win (ie. buster ko's tyson, etc. etc. etc.)
so dont argue meaningless points.
What a bunch of longwinded nonsense. Maybe Corrales, castillo? No, not maybe, definitely. STOP HATING
Who hits harder, Floyd or Tszyu? Hmm. I'd have to say Tszyu. Yep.
Frank's right. No KO for Floyd. No way.
Floyd will run and go for the UD. The public and the judges will not like it. Therefore, if it's close, the decision will go to Hatton (that's assuming Hatton hasn't taken Floyd out of there before the 12th).
Power is indeed important for a KO, but accuracy is too. Floyd could accumulate more punches on Hatton than Tszyu did.
Anyways, anyone who says KO is a bit far-fetched. I'd say TKO or decision. No way he puts Ricky down for 10.
willing to put some $$$ on it?
Mayweather (in my opinion) doesnt have the POWER at 147 to KO a ricky hatton.
true hatton's chin isnt a marciano chin but he can fight and will NOT be knocked out for a ten count (or otherwise) by a floyd mayweather.
end of story.

Agreed. But, I will further add that Ricky Hatton fought and beat Kostya Tszyu who was top 10 p4p the year of the fight, HOF, and undefeated for 8 years. Don't want to forget about that resume raiser. That's a big one. A BIG ONE.

there's also swelling and cuts. i think a corner stoppage is more likely, as it always is with pbf, then a 10 count.
i'll pass on the $$ though. i'll be spending enough on the ppv to risk anymore in case hatton pulls off the upset.
...that 34 year old Delahoya at 154 would knock out everybody that Hatton has fought. Including 36 year old Tszyu at 140.
No offence.
This is bullshit.....De La Hoya ran out of the 140 class and was stripped rather than fight Tszyu, who was awarded the title... WBC. Then Tszyu proceeded to demolish Mitchell and Judah for the WBA and IBF respectively and become the first in 30 years to consolidate the belts. You are full of shit...Dios.
Moooooof, Those were US fighters in an international fight. You know that isn't a good example..
Examples of foreign fighters with GREAT records are plentiful.
Damgaard, Dorin, Branco, etc. In fact, just get a boxing dictionary and look under "Arturo Gatti".
If Hatton beats Floyd, he is the real deal. If Floyd beats him, then Hatton is just another Thomas Damgaard.
I think this is going a bit too far.
Thomas Damgaard wasn't going to beat Kostya Tszyu.
Branco wasn't going to beat a washed-up Castillo (because a washed-up Castillo is still capable of beating the lower part of the top 10 at 140 I believe).
Leonard Dorin wasn't going to beat Carlos Maussa either.
Hatton is a good fighter, and has had a couple of tests, but I think December 8th will clarify just how good he is, and hell, he doesn't even have to win to answer some questions.
There are lies.....damned lies .....and statistics.
No offence to the thread creator at all.
But the replies to this thread have been shocking.
Especially one person sayin Hatton's fought "overseas" like american soil is some kind of supersoil if you fight anywhere else it is shit.
If that is the case then Foreman Ali in Zaire was a big steaming pile of horseshit.....
No, because neither Foreman or Ali were FROM Zaire.
Don't pretend like fighing at home isn't an advantage.
You sir are an ignoramus.
All you have to do is look at their opponents records.
Hatton has 5 more fights and Floyd's opponents have 26 more wins and his opponents have 215 more losses.
I show that as WBC Light Welterweight Title eliminator.
So technically it wasn't a title fight. He was moving up in weight.
It was also an eliminator for the WBC World Title.
http://www.britishboxing.net/fights_58826-Floyd-Mayweather-Jr-vs-Henry-Bruseles.html
It was his second fight at 140. He already put a beat down on Chop Chop Corley.
Floyd is 19-0 in title fights.
His fight against Henry Bruseles was for the vacant WBC All African Light Welterweight title.
Every title is a real title, remember?

floyd fought a 50 year old delahoya and just about won by a split decision LMAO
:bottle:
that 50 year old delahoya was still the best jr.middleweight at that time and the WBC champ. You can try to spin it if you wan to but we know what it is.

Thye will be fighting on a WORLD championship boxing telecast, live on PPV. So, shouldn't only WORLD title count? Just wondering.....
I just did the math and put up the numbers.
FYI only!!
