Can any serious boxing fan really think that Calzaghe will be threatened by Kessler? Lets be reaslistic...this might be a worse beating than Jeff Lacy receieved.
I said it, but I do give Kessler credit, I thought it was going to be a much more one sided fight then it was...but then again it was a good win for Calzaghe, good fight, I enjoyed it! Maybe, even made some money off it, but I ain't saying anything
Yes. And for the most part, boxing fans, and critics are betting on Kessler winning
I would disagree with that, Calzaghe is the prohibitive favorite, for good reason.
I give Kessler a chance cause he is a good boxer as well as puncher. People compare Kessler to LAcy and I don't know why. Kessler has alot more to bring to the table than Lacy and he will show that. I still think he will lose but he will not endure the same one sided beating jeff lacy went through.
I give Kessler a 20% chance. Half of that is due to the possibility of age catching up with Kessler. If it goes to points I put that down to 5-10%. I simply can't see how he can win a decision.
If you could build a prototype of the ideal fighter for Calzaghe then Kessler pretty much fits the bill.
when did you perform this survey of all the boxing fans and critics in the world?
No one with an ounce of boxing knowledge would make Kessler the favourite. Then again, mnost people who talk about this fight probably haven`t seen either fighter in a live contest.
I'm looking forward to see what my boy Kessler really has got in him. For the first time as a pro he has to give it 100% in all aspects - It will be a war. I think kessler will prove to powerfull for Joe, first 8 rounds will be even, last 4 rounds for Kessler.
I can't see Kessler winning because Joe is hard to hit and hard to trouble with straight punches. Kessler simply doesn't have enough in his locker to beat Calzaghe who has handspeed, intelligence and all manner of punches. Joe to outbox Kessler for the decision.
People are saying that Calzaghe hasn't fought anyone of Kessler's calibre, but neither has kessler fought anyone even remotely as good as Calslappy.
I think Joe will find it very hard to land punches, and impossible to stay in range for his long combinations.
I don't know why people would say Kessler is without a chance, unless they have seen to little of him to give it a fair judgment. Mind you, every one of his wins has been by total domination, nobody ever gave him trouble. I expect Joe to be trouble, but trouble he can handle. The word from Kessler's current sparring partner is (very much like the statement of Bika); Kessler isn't just more powerful, he dominates and currently has Joe beat on speed and movement too.
Kessler claims to be in the shape of his life, he started his sparring with a resting pulse of 31.
Kessler is #1 at keeping his cool under fire.
Does Calzaghe have a chance?
hmm not too sure about the speed and movement, he is pretty quick backing up tho although he drops his hands in the process, I don't think kessler has the tools to out box cal but if he can tag him a few times I can see him getting under joes skin, I do however think we're in for a classic and boxing needs more fights like this.

Does Calzaghe have a chance?
course he has a chance, but i heavily favour calz, kessler needs to do something different for this fight imo cause just jabbing and following with a straight right waiting for one to go through, every time isn't really gonna cut it, but i have a feeling he does have more to his armoury.
the only fighters that Calzaghe would struggle against are spolilers who try and rough him up and turn it into an ugly fight. He still finds a way to win though.
Kessler is tailor made for Calzaghe. He won't be able to get out the way and wont be able to stay at Calzaghe's pace for 12 rounds.
Calzaghe by UD or late TKO
I think Joe's age catches up with him in this fight. He hasn't fought a live opponent of Kessler's standards in some time. Meanwhile, Kessler has been fighting nothing but live opponents. In their primes I'd favor Joe, but his lax schedule or bum hand catches up to him in this fight.
Lacy had a punchers chance, what does Kessler have? A boxers chance? He's not going to out box Joe. He doesn't have the power to knock Joe out, so yes, I give Kessler no chance.
The only way Kessler wins is if Joe starts to show signs of aging. He is at that age where most boxers of his type start to deteriorate, so that is not out of the question, but if Calzaghe shows up in typical form, Kessler might as well quit.
I think, you was the same dick-head,whom said(Jabs are notoriously ineffective against southpaws)
And this is BULLSHIT
An orthodox jab will often be used against a southpaw, in order to settle for other punches when the southpaw tries to get in. In other words it is usually displayed as bait, because the southpaw will fell safe to move when he has evaded the jab
Lacy was relying on power.
I knew it was over when CalSlappy went back to his corner and told his big-nosed guinea dad "his power is shit".
Kessler will try to match his activity and will work the power when he can.
Yo'r right

Im Picking Kessler, and i think he has a very good shot at winning.
Im not saying i think he's gonna pull off a massive upset, i think he's gonna win what should be a pretty even fight.
Of coarse, Calzaghe should be the favorite.
But Kessler is NO Lacy
:haha:
How can you pull a masive upset in an almost even fight? :pat:
