Generic and uninspired comment.
While it may be true IN SOME CASES, you had a IBF champion who feasted on bums and washed-up hasbeens. Then when he CAME OVER TO THE UK he got exposed. Jeff Lacy, you remember him?
When did I say that all American fighters were the real deal? I was never HUGE on Lacy to begin with, and I picked Calzaghe to beat him, regardless of if that's important or not. Fact of the matter is, most of tyhe big fighters, prefer to fight in America, so that's where the big fights, generally happen. Generic doesn't mean wrong.
Its sad that a Nation of 300 million people can't find a Heavyweight Champion.
AND it's sad that the only foreign Heavyweights SUCK, too. No big deal, though.
As a whole, SOME British fighters have a "big fish in a small pond" thing going for them, and when you get them in bigger water, they don't make it. Some, are great. Great is great, no matter where you're from. America has fighters from all over the world, at a higher level. So fighting over here, on a grander stage, you're bound to get tested more, and then, hopefully, excell and prove yourself more. And a lot of British fighters just don't wanna fight here.
Thanks for the geography lesson...
I am not bitter...unlike you my self-esteem does not rise or fall on a silly sporting event.
So when you say 'I' am underachieving,it means nothing to me...just like when you say 'we'.Because what have 'you' done...what is your boxing record?
As for your ancestors...'they' kicked the shit out of them long ago.
Please enjoy your tea...and have a spot of it with your Queen.:usa2:

Britain is made up of 4 different countries.
From those 4 small populations we have done well.
What is your excuse for a nation of 300 million for your curretn achievements?
Don't be bitter because you are underachieving.
Its not our fault you are still governed by ancestors of British people.

they are actually doing experiments with bringing boxing back into UK schools in London at the moment, it was on the BBC a few months ago, hang on i'll have a look!
The only reason why the US heavies were Dominant for so long is because the Russians were in bondage as the Soviet Union.
Look what has happened since the fall of Communism!
Russians were not allowed to fight professionally the same as the Cubans!
You compare Brits to the USA which is quite ridiculous.
A nation of 300 million versus 65 Million.
The Cubans whoop the USA in Amateur Boxing with a nation of 12 million.
What does the Russians kicking ass now have to do with British boxing?
Oh,I get it...you're gonna make them citizens.:boxing:
fellas lets be civil.boxing is a gentleman's sport after all.

Its sad that a Nation of 300 million people can't find a Heavyweight Champion.
Really....how many heavyweight champs have there been from the U.S.?...too many to name.
How many have heavyweight champs have been British?...in history, the next one will be the FIRST one.
And please don't say Lennox Lewis...as he was a ringer.
British heavys have always been known as the 'Horizontal Heavyweights'.
As for the current state of U.S. heavys...it,for time being matches the rest of the world...which is just plain poor.
But...at least we have a history to be proud of...unlike....you.
And the British champ is probably playing Rugby League or Union.
Boxings biggest adversary is the Promoter.
Whether you live in the UK , USA or anywhere else in the world.
But from such a small nation Britain has a very distinguished history in the sport of boxing.
If anything the USA is UNDERACHIEVING!
the world is just getting better.are heavyweight legends would all be cruisers today.p.s amir khan is very talented.
Its sad that a Nation of 300 million people can't find a Heavyweight Champion.
moofo that's cause he's busy playing american football.i don't see the problem fighting over seas but i don't get why some people think fighting in england or america should be the end all be all.mexican, puerto rican ,pinoy, cuban, they all come to the states to fight.boxing was born in england but it grew up in america.
I'd say good......I have always been a huge Lennox Lewis fan.I'm not so much a fan of many Brits at the moment but know they have had many very good fighters and still do.
i don't agree i think turpin's win over Robinson was above that, we have produced many top fighters maybe not many at heavyweight but lots at the lower weight classes.
Not to mention Honeyghan's win over Curry and Benn's win over McClellan (which despite the sad end to the fight was still a major achievement for Nigel).
I would say on the whole we a pretty good when you consider the population of the country and the amount of current World Champion we have today and have had over the years ,we have produced more World Champions than some far bigger countrys
i aint saying were the best but for the small pool of fighters you get to choose from its pretty decent especially when you consider that Boxing in this country is not as big as it is in the west and is primarly an after thought over here,we all kow how many from these of the kids in this country are bread to play footabll as soon as they can walk cause we are so footabll crazy in this country
Jim Lampley stated on a recent Hatton telecast that,Hatton's win over Kosta Tyzu was voted by British fans as the greatest moment in British boxing.
I think that about sums it up...
If that is their greatest moment...a win over a washed up champion, then that's just sad.
