Calzaghe, it was ALL Calzaghe's fault. Roy said he would fight in for 40/60 will Calzaghe getting the larger cut! He also said He would go to Wales to fight him but Slappy turned him down saying "he get's kncoked down to much".
why would Joe fight RJJ he would'nt get the credibility he looking for RJJ would have moreee to gain out of that fight ,I think it's clear that Joe get's more credibility and money by fighting Hopkins ,Kessler ,Taylor etc one of the main reason's for this is RJJ is not the same fighter these day's
and the morale of the story is what ,it made sense to refuse to fight RJJ

Yeah this is true.
But the truth is:
Roy Jones was knocked out by Tarver
Roy Jones was knocked out by Johnson.
Roy Jones lost a rubbermatch with Tarver.
What had Calzaghe to gain from beating him? Other than to hear people qoute any of Roy's negative performances of recent years.
I post every so often, I don't like how childish this forum is so I don't post much on this forum because like 90 percent of this forum is filled with idiots who have no idea what they're talking about and just like to cause problems. And I personally wish this forum got rid of points and the fact that this forum allows other people to put images of a guy giving a blowjob as my avatar pisses me off. I said I wouldn't post on this forum again, but there are still a few good posters here. But most are crap posters.
I have points I will change it for you if you tell me how.

You are a good poster, thats rare on this forum. And hopefully Calzaghes is able to beat Kessler so anyone who denies Calzaghe as being a good boxer is obviously a freaking moron since Kessler is obviously a good boxer aswell.
cheer's EliteSoldier, I hope Joe get's the respect he deserves he is a great fighter IMO one of the best ever from these shore's .i Mean Joe has beaten the best competition the super middleweight division had too offer for how many years and still he does'nt get the respect he deserves ,
if people dont like Joe Calzaghe fair enough but respect the man for being Champion of the SMW division for so many years ,but dont disrespect him because the era he dominted in ,that is not his fault

Shit, serious? I wonder how they managed to hack your account. You dont have any friends who know your password do you, or was it definitly done over the net?
Yeah I see what you mean, that's fuckin ridiculous. We're comin on here, talkin bout the sport, and we want to exchange topics with fans, there's always some jokers tho unfortunatley.

Yep agree.
I thought you had dissapeared man.
Collins wanted FIVE MILLION DOLLARS to fight Jones, which was fantasy money.
He was no Nigel Benn...
And no, Collins chickened out of the fight with Calzgahe. He collapsed in 1999 when he was preparing to fight Jones in a comeback, Howard Eastman was the one who hit him
Sorry mate, I got something confused there.
Yeah he backed out of the fighting Calzaghe in 97.
But in 99, he came out of retirement and he went into training to fight Calzaghe, with the hope of landing a fight with Jones. It was 99 that he collapsed during sparring. And doctors told him to stay out of the sport.
lol, and about the 5 million dollars. That's coming from Jones's mouth right? There's no way collins would turn down a reasonable paycheck.

My dad is a friend of Steve Collins' family, and everyone knows how hard he tried to get a fight with Roy Jones Jr. He was led to believe on many occasions that the fight was going to happen, only for Roy to alter negotations, or slip out.
Roy said in that video that he made an offer to Collins. That is bullshit.
When Steve Collins could not get Roy Jones, he decided to fight Joe Calzaghe instead.
However, Collins collapsed during training for that fight and retired from the sport, and so became Eubank-Calzaghe.
He should have fought Calzaghe. But I don't know whose fault that is.
He wasn't known in the States (couldn't be bothered) until the Lacy fight. So what was the point for Jones?
Well, Watson was in a permanent hospital bed while Jones was being hid by his dad
Jones wouldn't fight for Don King so the Benn fight didn't happen
Eubank knew Jones could have beaten him so wanted nothing of him until it was too late, what value would it have been for Jones to fight a Eubank with two losses who wasn't a name in the States? Interestingly, Eubank was offered a lot of money to fight Jones in June 1999, probably because Jones had ran out of opponents and maybe wanted to fight Chris in London - watching the Thompson fights it's clear Eubank had lost little and could have still put on a great show, would have been cool!

From what i can tell they all ducked each other at various point's in there Career wether it be down to money or one being on the slide one being at the top of there game ,we will never really know the truth but i dont think any less of any of them ,But in truth maybe they all could have made more of an effort to fight each other
Joe Calzaghe deserves more respect than he gets though IMO
