They were both black, so race should'nt play an issue here. Both have had the #1pfp title. Neither one of them had much class. So why is it that Tyson was so much more embraced by fans, while Floyd is shunned upon?
Cuz Floyds style is like watching paint dry. Only hard core boxing fans can appreciate what he does but I watch fights to be entertained not gloss over a fighters technical ablilities. Which is why I wont buy his next fight on ppv and instead get the mosley vs cotto , vargas vs mayorga fights.
his fans are neither hardcore nor are able to assess technical abilities....they have a fetish for him and/or his style of boxing....its just love, it cant be explained :tapedshut
Come on Tyson was Knocking everyone out and came straight forward while Mayweather outboxes people. Tyson's style is more pleasing to the casual fan while only people who love the sweet science can appreciate Mayweather's tactics.
Picture Floyd trying to say that quote about Tyson being Alexander and eating children, it would sound sooooooo out of place lol.
they would arrest him lol

For those fans who like excitement and fireworks, Mayorga/Vargas is definitely the fight to watch! I got Mayorga by Brutal KO

He was a great fighter. A destructive force never seen before or since in boxing. The most dominant heavyweight champion ever in the late 80's. Compelling as hell to watch, what he brought to the ring. The Jack Dempsey truncks and shoes he had it all.

Because he was a Circus attraction. His early years as a contender and then Undisputed Champion are the only years he was really loved and taken serious.
Everything else was just a circus act. Mike Tyson the third world wonder. It was like presenting King Kong in a cage and people ate it all up.
Tyson was a young (the youngest), heavyweight (The division that has always gotten the most attention) champion and was knocking people out in a time when boxing was more popular than it is today.
floyd and mike are both money-hungry, but the difference is that tyson doesnt know how to use his money.
LoL......and Floyd does??? All Floyd does is spend his money on Bling, rims, cars, gambling, more bling, and paying people to hang out with him. Does that sound like somebody who knows how to manage money well? Floyd is a fad, and will be put on the back burner as soon as he loses his first fight. Remember i said that. Let him keep on with his foolish spending. He will end up like Leon Spinks in 15yrs from now, Working at a fast food joint, or cleaning toilets.
Tyson did not care about his image. Everything didn't matter.
Floyd is obsessed with self-importance. He wants fans to love him by proclaiming he's the greatest.
Because when he was beating up people it was evident to everyone.
Now with Floyd, on the other hand, casual fan needs to put a lot of time into a research just to understand on what basis did Floyd get a win.
that is so true there are so many apologist Floyd fan's who seem to be the only people who get excited by his style ,he is very very talented but he is not by any stretch of the imagination EXCITING or EXPLOSIVE to Boxing fan's in general
Tyson was a moron.. i liked the guy when he was young and before he started dissing people like this and saying
"i'mma eat ur children" and annoying stuff like that
Tyson became a coward once he was on "top"that was really disturbing, but lets focus on the tyson cus d'amato raised .

Not sure what race has to do with it?
Mike Entertained and was exciting to watch.
He came into a dire division and brought life back to boxing in a big way.
Until 1990 he was undsiputed by destroying all in his way.
Mike had the air of invicibility about him as well.
Comparing Floyd to Mike is sacrilidge in my opinion.
Tyson may have been an ass outside the ring but you can't deny the excitement he generated inside it.
Tyson>Mayweather forever.
In 200 years people will still be watching Tyson whereas no-one will remember the name Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I bring up race because if Tyson happened to be white, im sure some racially insecure people here would've been like "Tyson was loved because he is white and Floyd is black"
Because tyson had that killer instinct which most boxing fans like. His main goal was to knock his opponents out and he did it in an exciting fashion. Mayweather doesn't do that.
