Over the course of this year I've seen Pavlik destroy 3 fighters with good to great chins and all with the right right hand. Pavlik's KO of the tough Zertuche was frightening. He follows up this display of carnage by using this money punch to crush the strong Edison Miranda and batter him into submission. Now he uses the right hand to ascend to the top of the boxing ladder when he landed it flush against Jermaine Taylor's jaw.
I was initially skeptical of the power of his right cross, so is it safe to officially say Pavlik's right hand has now become one of the "vaunted" punches in boxing? Is it now safe to annoint it in the same hallowed classes as Tszyu's right hand and Oscar's left hook? Will there now be talk of Pavlik's straight right??
Two words.
Ray Mercer.
His head is like one of those Easter Island statues. I always knew he had a great chin but that fight was ridiculous.
WLAD knocked Mercer down in the first round with a LEFT HOOK, he would've KO'd Mercer in the 6th if the ref hadn't stopped it.
......lol....... agreed. Unfortunately, Wlad's chin is fine china.
In fact they need to refer to it as Wlad's "chin..a".
You know how it is.. He's a mortal with a superman punch.
As long as he keeps them off him he'll be alright.
It's better a good thinking mind like that doesn't get damaged.
Good chins betray their masters in the long run.
Haha, what do you mean by that?
But I actually wasn't trying to diss you...that shit sounded like something I would hear out of Merchant's mouth.
Yeah, you've been sharp. Some elite level, cruel, classic shit.
Hey guys, who do you think has the best right hand in boxing Pavlik or WLAD. This one is too close for me to call.
Only guy I've ever seen take a flush Wlad right and still be on his feet is Sam Peter. This reason and his increased skills as of late is why I'm leaning on him to knock out McCline.
It's a tough call for me.
Pavlik has ruined some guys with his that other "punchers" couldn't dent.
But Klitschko unveils his right like a depleted uranium round.
It's over when he brings it out.
And Klitschko uses his so economically and scientifically. It's a beauty.

Almost every boxer that was ever great has had some type of signature punch. We can go down the list, Tommy's right hand, Marciano's Suzie Q and so on. If Kelly can display his straight right's devastating potential over the next couple years and decapitate a couple more great opponents, maybe he himself won't be mentioned with the greats till it's all said and done, but his signature punch for sure as hell can at least.
Pavlik's right hand is the most talked about punch in boxing right now. But, it's his jab that wins the fights. Once that thing finds a home, the right hand is sure to follow...with a wallop!
his jab is the money punch, heavy and accurate long as a country mile and always in your face. I think Taylor was just absolutely worn down by his jab. Hes lucky Pavlik finished it in the 7th.

I don't just recognize Pavlik's right hand I believe in it.
I fear it.
His right hand needs it's own groupies.
