from round 1 it wasn't always like that, had Taylor kept it in the middle of the ring from round 1 until the end the accumilation wouldn't have been as bad, there wasn't only 1 instance where he was on the ropes, plenty of times in prior rounds he let himself get caught on those ropes and hit HARD he just had that much of a beard where he could still stand up against Pavlik, the overall accumilation though made it so that even when he was in the middle of the ring in the 7th it didn't matter because there was very little focus, fight and overall energy left..
had he not took those bombs early on in the corner and just kept it a competitive boxing match in the middle of the ring the whole time he would have had enough to survive that 7th round, the build up of punishment wouldn't have been so great. it was evident he was hurt after that 1-2 but what did he do afterwards?? go right back to the ropes which is what he was supposed to be avoiding the whole night, that directly led to his downfall, no doubt he was hurt but he could have survived it with good ring generalship and clever technique.. 100
had that happened, then the Kelly people would say "if he pushed him up against the ropes more....". It came down to who was able to execute their game plan better, and saturday night it was Pavlik. So give the guy the credit for being able to push taylor against the ropes, its not like Taylor wasn't trying to not go there.
Jermaine TAylor didn't want to win that fight. He's a bit of a cornball, he obviously can't hand;e the pressure of being Champion. He boxed very good in this fight, was doubling and tripling on his jab bobbing slipping punches. He was ahead on the screcards, this guy just didn't wanna win. If u ask me his knock out was more fierce than Paviliks, Pavilik wanted to win, when he got kncked down he struggled to stay up when Taylor got K.O'd(really T.K.O) he wasn't even on his fucking back, busta just let his knees fall from under him like he was about to pray. Then bout 2 seconds after the fight he gets up walks around and leaves....PLease, he wwsn't even hurt, he just don't really like boxing that much. I read the interviews before this fight, they gota force the man to watch boxing and he freely admis he doesn't watch it. Real talk if there is a rematch , I doubt Jermaine even shows up in shape. To me his decision over Hopkins was gift one and thats what started all this, they got some athlete and put money behind him and started giving him gift decisions and now they paid for it and EManuel Steward is embarrassed......Did u guys notice how manny said he lost the first round when it was so close? EVEN BOXINGSCENE gave the first round to TAylor... why would u tell ur fighter he lost the first, then what happens strong ass farm boy knocks him out of his life in the 2nd and lets him off the hook.....Taylor was paper champ, Pavilik has allot of determination but he won't survive as champion for more than two solid Defenses, he don' t want it with Kessler, Calzaghe or Hopkins, he's better off fighting Miranda again or fight Jermaine again but I don't see the point, Taylor dont wanna box for a living.

I hope they use the same logo. Best logo in the NHL in my opinion. It's an N for Nordiques but also an arch for the entrace to city Quebec.
About as "unreal" as your delusional aspirations of someday becoming a honkey player, I mean Hockey player for "Team Nordic".. :)
Yeah I dont think I could make the city Quebec Nordiques. Especially since they movied to Colorado. It's a real possiblity that city Quebec might get another NHL team though, they have some serious investors pledging money to a stadium.

team northern.
As in the Quebec Nordiques?
That right hand turned Taylor's jaw into jello though.. What the hell was he doing, letting Kelly charge him like that right after he just got hit and not putting his hands up? His defense is awful..
youtube video
That right hand Kelly landed, unreal

He is the type of guy who just has raw power and heavy hands. The type of exercises he does makes him even stronger too. Tire lifts and sledgehammer swings are excellent for building power.
Taylor was rocked in the center of the ring, ROCKED. I knew the fight was over after that 1-2. The way Taylor through that retarded looking half jab in response lets you know how badly that put Taylor in trouble.

Taylor got buzzed with a shot around the 2 minute mark in the 7th round in the middle of the ring. Go check it out if you dont believe me. Boxers know when a guys hurt. Pavlik's natural instinct kicked in and Taylor's natural instinct was to go to the ropes (which is what he does in most of his bouts anyways when he is pressured). Just a well placed shot by Pavlik. Nothing Taylor could of done about it.
thats true but thats why I feel he assisted his own knockout, he got hit in the middle of the ring and he went to the ropes, that is STUPID, he did the wrong things and left the right ones in the gym, his trainer was telling him to fight smart and he didn't they prepared for a smart fight and he didn't pull threw, true Pavlik landed that good shot but Taylor could have clinched, gathered himself and came back to continue fighting. Pavlik was a beast against Taylor but it was when he was against the ropes where Pavlik was able to land those tide changing blows, blows that literally take the fight out of you..
those were the punches that landed on Jermain that put him out, one thing is to be buzzed and another is to be ROCKED, in the middle of the ring he was buzzed, there's many different moves he can make to position himself to continue but on the ropes he was ROCKED and couldn't respond at all, once againlike I have stated in every post I have made on this fight, all due respect to Kelly Pavlik but inside me I just can't help but feel Taylor could have pulled it off had he avioded a all out fight and used his finesse to bail him out of those corners.. 100
His straight right hand has an insane snap effect at the very end of it. Conventional technique states that one should shift their body weight and punch through their opponent with a right cross, but Pavlik's just seems to have whip-like effect......Taylor looked like a lifeless heap...unbelievable.
Pavlik is an anomaly.
His punches dont appear to be nearly as explosive as they are, he looks kind of like an average white dude.
Inside the ring though, he is a beast and walks his opponents down and seems to have no problem finishing fights.
it is weird seeing jermain taylor get blown out like that, it was hard for me to picture it but pavlik helped it all make sense for me.
the rematch should be REALLY good.
yup
