Pavlik-Taylor = Possibly Fight of the year?

I vote no b/c I thought that Vazquez-Marquez II was probably FOTY with Pavlik-Miranda a close second…

Are people forgetting the two Marquez/Vasquez fights already? not to mention Zab/Cotto. A barnstormer? yes, FOTY? No.

this is truly a great year for pavlik. beating 2 great fighters, miranda and taylor.

it could be a candidate for foty, but i really dont think it was better than vasquez - marquez II. dont get me wrong, i thought the fight was awseome, i really enjoyed it. but i agree that pavlik at this moment of the year should be awarded the foty. we still have fights left, but up to this time of the year he is the foty imo after that amazing fight. :boxing:

Katsidis-Amonsot definitely!! that was a bloody fight. one of the greatest i've seen as an undercard fight for a main event.

It was definitely a very good fight, but the brutality, pace, and accuracy of the Vazquez Marquez 2 fight make that one a better one in my opinion. Look at the fighter at the end of the fight and the amount of activity and I think the Vz-Mz edges it, not too mention this one didnt have an outstanding round that stood above the rest. The only edge it has is the fact that pavlik was down and fought back to win, but it took him a while to turn the tide so it wasnt as exciting.

Great in terms of meaning, and outcome, and back and forth. However not fully action packed as some others. However, the rematch should bring even more fireworks. I want a TRILOGY.

I see it as a contender for FOY, but my vote still goes to Vasquez-Marquez II. Or, even I. Either. These two fights left trails of evidence of brutality: blood, swollen faces, broken nose... I favor the rematch over the first fight only because there was one element of drama that the first meeting understandably lacked: Vasquez seeking revenge. After all, he had KD'd Marquez in the 3rd round of the first fight before he quit on his stool sufferring from breathing problems caused by a severely broken nose. I also had found Pavlik-Miranda as a contender. But that certainly now pales in comparison to the fight we just saw.

pavlik should be fighter of the year with his 3 victories this year And all 3 were standout fights, in terms of excitement. He's a shoo-in for Fighter OTY.

Neither guy should be ashamed. Taylor showed he has balls. Pavlick showed you have to put him to sleep to stop him. Gotta be a rematch!exactly. the kid has heart. knocked down in the 2nd round and managed to get up. he did it for his people. he made them proud today.
