Originally i Picked Taylor to ud Pavlick. Recently though, I have been researching and rewatching both fighters previous bouts. Logically, Taylor should be the favorite because he has the better opposition, whereas Pavlick has only Miranda. Taylor is probably the more gifted athlete and no doubt has the speed advantage going in. Infact, most all the advantages with the exception of power are leaning Taylors way.
That said, I have changed my mind on this fight. I pay alot of attention to a fighters mentality as i believe it can overcome many obstacles if the person is strong enough mentally. Pavlick seems to possess a quit strength of character that was apparant in the methodical destruction of Miranda. He also has some major league pop and a seriously long right hand!
My gut says Pavlick is gonna take this one even though he shouldn't.
Look for the ko mid fight between the 8th and 10th!
Taylor just seems ripe to fall!

Bumpin this for all the people that need to see it!
The memory of Winky Wright backing up Taylor against the ropes and unleashing flurries against Taylor who went into a defensive shell didn't bode well with me....I picture Kelly backing him up and it's not a pretty picture.
Dont lie. You read my prediction and changed your mind didn't you..
Lol, refer me to the thread and i'll see if it's correct IMHO! No, what changed my mind was watching th way in and the miranda,Ouma,Spinks fights again.
There is alot there if you pay attention. I think Pavlick will connect!
That's called basic coordination of movement and good ol agility.
Which Toney had plenty of.
Hatton and Tszyu, while both are not very agile are also very coordinated as well
So, athletism is some sort of mic of coordination and agility. That's my best guess.
I would say all of those listed have "agility." lol
I agree... all we do is talk dimes on each other, but I will still miss you when you leave the site Easton.
Better buy Dios a parting gift fellas. Hattons crushing Mayweather and I'll be here LMAO and lording over you underlings!
I don't believe that Taylor got all the advantages on Pavlik but power.
Speed -- maybe although I have not seen Taylor being fast for a while
Punching -- Pavlik
Punch Variety -- Definately Pavlik, I have seen pavlik put all kinds of different combos up and downstairs.
Workrate -- Pavlik
Chin -- debatable, Pavlik been only down once as opposed to Taylor, but who was Taylor's last opponent who could actually punch?
Athletism --- Still have not figured out what the hell do people mean by this and how does this affect the fight, so if you know, elaborate. But since people are always eager to go with nice bodies and muscles(G-d, people are boxing stupid) I will give it to Taylor.
Determination and Focus -- Pavlik.
Feel free to argue.
Nobody knows what they mean by 'athleticism'. I suppose at best it refers to "performance in meaningless isolated training events such as the vertical jump and 40 yd dash."
I don't know who would win a 40 yd race between these two, but that's not relelvant.
In the relevant case 'athleticism' could perhaps refer to the ability to smoothly transition between punching and blocking and back, which is a weakness of Pavlik's.
But most people who mention "athleticism" as an attribute started following sports during the decline of the NBA and take their ideas about sports from that. Basically they've watched ESPN all their lives and mistakenly presume they know something about sports based on that experience.

Athleticism= a certain fluidity. Coordination. Pavlick can look mechanical in his technique, Taylor moves very well.
Examples: athletic- Mayweather,Judah,Spinks, Malinaggi,Mosley.Jones
Examples non athletic-Hatton,Cotto,Arce,Toney,Golota, Tszyu
lol. Man I'ma miss you when you have to leave the site forever. I can't wait for THAT fight, that is without a doubt the main event Easton.

Certa9inly can go either way skills, but arent you gonna be sweatin bullets if im right-dire implications for the upcomming bet of ours! lol

Taylor is going to win, so Easton will learn not to flip flop his choices and Wiley will learn that most of his predictions are wrong.

Agreed. There's no way I could bet against Pavlik here. Also, Pavlik appears to be the guy on arrival. Taylor appears to be languishing. This doesn't always translate into victory, but it often seems to pan out.
