Corrales ok but not top notch at the time Castillo good fighter in prime gave Pretty a run for his money Gatti...uh NO Judah..can never finish what he starts De La Hoya past his prime Hatton..Well we all saw what happened to him on Saturday! So I would say NO!!!!!! Never has fought top notch fighter Not a impressive resume for the #1 P4P fighter..give me a break! Chico was rated highly P4P, but he almost died making weight, and entered the ring dehydrated.

Seems pretty relevant if you look at the thread title. I went through The Ring's annual ratings and found out who was P4P ranked when Mayweather was at each division (or within one division up or down): (Each year is based on the last year's end of year P4P rankings) 1998 - The Ring didn't put out a list for 1997. 1999 - Naseem Hamed was the only one that was even possible, and Mayweather begged to fight him. (#9) 2000 - He could have moved up to fight Stevie Johnston I guess. (#10) 2001 - Naseem Hamed again (#6) or Diego Corrales (#5) which he fought. 2002 - Kostya Tszyu at 140 (#6), but Floyd had just moved up to 135, so jumping again was probably ill advised. 2003 - (#6) Kostya Tszyu again, same old shit dogg, just a different day. 2004 - Floyd moves up to 140, and really the only fighter within any divison (1 up or 1 down from him, or in his division of course) is Kostya Tszyu (#7). He might have been trying to set a fight up, idk, but he was just starting at 140, trying to win eliminators, etc. 2005 - Tszyu (#5), I guess Tszyu was ready to set something up with Hatton, idk. 2006 - Mayweather moves up to welterweight. (#4) Hatton is down at 140, I've heard both parties didn't want this fight, but idk, someone else can argue that. Castillo (#9) is up at 140, but he has already beaten him twice, what's the point? Mayweather is trying to set up a fight with (#10) Zab Judah. 2007 - Basically just Hatton and Castillo (ranked #8 and #9 respectively at the end of 2006). Say what you will about Mayweather ducking the elites, but it really does seem, now that I have looked into it, that the people that revisionists are saying Mayweather should have fought, got good after he left the division they were in.

I simply noted the list so devotedly published by Dios. The fact that I don't agree with Corrales as being p4p is my opinion. He was still exciting to watch, no doubt. The point is that if Corrales is the only highly regarded p4p that Floyd ever fought, then a valid comment has been made with this thread regarding Floyd's competition. No need to be hostile. Corrales at 130 was a stud... too strong for everyone, and too strong to be hurt by anyone. He hadn't even been on the canvas before he fought Floyd. He was KO'ing everyone he faced... idk, he was a beast at 130.

He didnt avoid either Frietas never wanted the fight Casa didnt want the fight with Floyd till after he got beat by Frietas and Floyd then decided to Move up. He didn't Avoid either man Casa avoided him till he needed him. edit: Frietas was also with Showtime at the time and that made it hard for Mayweather popo to fight. Floyd was at the Freitas vs Casa fight hoping Casa would win so they could fight but Casa got that L and Floyd Moved up cause Frietas Vs Mayweather wasnt going to happen.
