Who has he beaten besides the overrated Edison Miranda, people hate Floyd because of his cockyness what about this guy he talks as if he has conquered a whole weight division.... I hope Jermaine fucks him up
what has pavlik done for you to say that he talks like he conquered the division. he is fighting the middleweight champion cuz he earned the right, thats all. he hasnt said anything cocky or arrogant. he jus answers the questions he is asked. now because he is being talked about having a good chance of beating taylor, and people are saying he is gonna beat taylor, he's gonna get beat down on these forums because of that. thats real good...
shut the fuck up , when a fighter loses hes always considered overrated by you old folks ! fuck you edison was and is a great fighter so is pavlik , pavlik was jsut better that night! well see how you react when pavlik destroys taylor
In my dupclicate post of this I mention Hopkins. So ok I'll refrain, the first real middleweight he's faced outside of a 43 year old Hopkins and the first middleweight with any kind of power.
hopkins was 40........................ joppy was a real middle too........but yeah, taylor's never faced a puncher, ill give you that............
hopkins was not a real middleweight????????????????????????????weird, he never fought lighter than that to my recollection....

people always talk about Kelly Pavlik's opposition whatever your opinions on that. The fact is though that Kelly Pavlik will be the first real middleweight Jermaine Taylor has ever faced and slso the first guy with any kind of power he's ever faced.

Pavlik is not overrated outside of boxingscene, hell, hes not here for the most part. You just have your usual fanboys that their fighter is the best at everything and cant loose. And if you constructively criticize their fighter they will call you every name in the book.
I think pavlik has a lot of potential, but I also believe that pavlik's style is what taylor needs to look good and quiet peoples claims of him not belonging where he is.
Kind of reminds me of another certain boxer. Oh...sorry, this is the wrong thread for that.
Haha, you better not group me with them... I have been so unbiased about Mayweather-Hatton.
Ahh I see, well if you actually listen to biased nutt huggers, then yeah. He's not only overrated, he's a potential second coming of the jesus.

He seems to have a lot of them on this forum... a lot of fans who think he is going to end Jermain Taylor's career and life in this upcoming fight.
You guys here really beat the life out of the term Overrated.
Overrated fighters are guys who get recognition beyond their accomplishments and talents.
Miranda, was always noted as a fighter with a big punch. He wasn't praised as some sort of messiah for his division. He was always noted as a threat, no more no less. No one said he was the next Hagler or some shit.
Kelly Pavlik, same thing. No one's sayin he's this big bad ass cyborg, from the future, comin to bring an end to the Middleweight division's world. He's noted as a great puncher, with skill. Kelly earned this fight, because he hasnt lost during his attempt to get here.
I mean other then Pavlik, who would you guys want to see Jermain Taylor fight?
Agreed. This has been a complete misunderstanding of the term "overrated."
Pavlik fought himself out of almost complete obscurity and earned this fight the hard way. How's that consistent with being overrated? If anything Pavlik has been underrated his whole career, until Miranda, where the TV pundits sat up and took notice all of the sudden.
Now, I would say, with the exception of some fans on this site, he's "rated" right where he belongs. An extremely threatening power puncher with a great chin. Undefeated and a knockout percentage of 90% supports this observation.

There is not a better fight that can be made in the middleweight division than Taylor vs. Pavlik... however... people really have been saying some unreal shit...
"Pavlik would be Wright by a wide UD or KO."
"Pavlik is going to knock Jermain Taylor's overrated ass out, because Taylor sucks." (I guess that is not a praise of Pavlik, but a discredit of Taylor, which frustrates me too)
"Pavlik is the best middleweight puncher ever."
These predictions seem to give Pavlik hype that is undeserved considering his accomplishments.
You say Miranda is overrated....but he beat he kicked Allan Green's ass, dismantled Willie Gibbs within a round, and should have won the championship in Germany when he fought a good Arthur Abraham, who many people believe to be the 2nd best middleweight in the world right now. Besides, JT didnt have a good resume before he beat Hopkins.
The Gibbs win was a good win. The Abraham fight showed that Miranda was better than Abraham.
I think Green committed strategic suicide in their fight though... still can't take it away from Miranda, but I think most good fighters could outbox Edison Miranda.
