In response to all the pleas, I'll dispense with the sarcasm and give you ONE well placed straight right hand regarding the upcoming Hatton-Mayweather bout (I normally use the word "fight," but with regard to Mayweather, that word is wholly inapproprate).
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is to boxing history what Jimmy Carter is to U.S. history. Ok, he's President, but he is no Washington or Lincoln, and never will be. It doesn't matter how many 12 round pillowfights he wins or statistics he can dig up and wave around because Floyd will not change. As long as he can win and get rich without getting hit, nothing will change. Maybe, just maybe, Floyd is perfectly content to be Jimmy Carter. Hell, he's still the President!
Now all roads lead to Ricky Hatton, 43-0, and apparently Britain's version of the second coming of Christ. However, most non-British observers believe that Hatton is the perfect target for Floyd to enhance his name in the annals of boxing by adding an undefeated layer of padding to his already gigantic feather bed.
Hatton, having found a way to hammer out a great record with guts and grappling, is overrated. There, I've said it. He made his name by hanging himself all over an aging Kostya Tszyu until Tszyu got too tired to walk and just had to sit down for a moment. Can we expect this to happen to Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? There is a big difference between Tszyu's old praying mantis and Mayweather's fresh butterfly. If you're prone to a flutter here and there, then bet on Mayweather to win in another ho hum decision. Nevertheless, the bout does retain some interest for the spectator. Hatton is one of the best grapplers in boxing. He excels in repeatedly holding his opponent and taking pot shots when the opportunity arises. In Britain, Hatton has been allowed to use this questionable tactic to great effect. The real issue in this bout is whether or not Las Vegas will allow Hatton to fight his fight and thereby cast his butterfly net. If, by the second round it becomes apparent that Hatton will not be allowed to grapple and hold, you might as well change the channel. Oscar De LaHoya couldn't legally catch Floyd. Are we to believe that Ricky Hatton can? I would suggest "Hogan's Heroes" on T.V. Land, but you do as you may.
Wiley Hyena
Hatton has a chance, maybe even a bit more than a puncher's chance, but that's about it. If Hatton thinks he can get away with that MMA stuff in Vegas, he's in for a surprise.
I don't know about that. But the Vegas factor is not to be ignored, and is going to play very big in the fight.

i think that hatton will find out on fight night that mayweather is more of a problem to deal with in the ring than he excepted. the mayweather camp knows more of what to expext of hatton than the hatton camp is of mayweather..

Lets make a bet if your so confident,
If Floyd wins, i get all your points,
If floyd loses, you dont get any points from me.
your 99% confident, so lets do the bet.

Hatton will expose Floyd on Dec 08, Ricky and Billy have said for years they have a super strategy to beat Floyd. Ricky's style with cause Floyd loads of problems and i'm 99% confident Rick will win the fight.

Your spot on man, but consider this. Don't forget for a minute that Mayweathers myth is built upon the sand since leaving 130. He hasn't faced a truly aggressive fighter like Hatton since castillo, and Hattons more aggressive and stronger than Castillo ever was.
I'm telling you this beyond a shadow of a doubt, Mayweather is gonna be very hard pressed to box out of this fight! Hatton is training to make it a war- there is no other way for him. These people saying Floyd will be stronger are delusional. Hatton will Smother Floyd Immediatly. And he will do it all night long. Floyd will have no choice but to stand and fight in this one.
Now, I know many will say here, That Oscar Couldn't do it, Neither could Castillo, or Corrales, and you know what? Their right, but None of them are Hatton or have Hattons style. Castillo apllies pressure intelligently. Oscar never was comfortable as the aggressor, and Corrales is a typical set fighter(He has to set to throw effectively). Hatton is none of these.
Hattons style, no matter how ugly, is effective. he smothers, wrestles, rabbit punches, and just plain mauls people into submission. He doesn't do that 43 times in a row and suddenly run into somone he can't do it to. He may not be as effective at first, but he wont stop-not for a second, and Floyd better be ready to beat his ass consistantly all night, cause there wont be any pot-shot to the finish line against Hatton!
Don't believe the pundits man-How many time have they been completely and utterly wrong? The so called experts don't have a fukin clue, otherwise their wouldn't be upsets, and boxing is a sport KNOWN for upsets. Why is that? probably because styles make fights and you can guess all day long, but in the end, History has proven that the one guy that beats a slick boxer is the guy that knows how to make a fight ugly-Sound Like Hatton?
I completly agree with this. i've got a feeling Hatton will win i am a Hatton fan and im not been biased or anything because pbf is a qaulity boxer but his style bores me.
How long ago was that? I'm talking elite competition.
Moving the goalposts - Changing the target of a process or competition to by one side in order to gain advantage.
Changing the criteria helps you none as you only expose your bias. I answered your question. Thank you. :)
3 fights back before DLH against Sharmba Mitchell and a couple of people during his breif campaign at 140, where Ricky happens to be..:)
You obviously don't watch boxing. I said Sharmba Mitchell. Of course you'll say he was over-the-hill, but nonetheless, I answered your question and you're busy whining about Gatti.
Didn't mitchell get Koed By Tzsyu before Mayweather and By williams after Mayweather?
Ahh, yes, i can see how Mitchell strengthens your arguement! Who were those people at 140? Brusselles was one, a real world beater there, and who else? Chop Chop corely baby!
At any rate, Neither Brusselles or Corely are what i would call tough guys. Corely moreso than bruselles but nither are considered even real contenders where their divisions are concerned.
Your house is built on sand Isis. Dont hate on those that can see that!
His chin is not in question to me. It's more a matter of how well Hatton's scar tissue holds up.
Yeah, I knew about the Hatton's cut problem.
I don't remember Floyd ever being cut? Maybe once, I think..but I cannot remember who it was he was fighting. Has Floyd ever been cut??

When was the last time Floyd stopped anyone,

outside of an old shot gatti, that was flat footed and slow. Way past his prime, and in enough wars for numerous fighters. Come on.

Well, I just hope that Hatton comes in with all the piss and vinegar that is being expected of him. With his backing though, I would think that he is thinking along the same lines that have been outlined above.
QUESTION: What is Hatton's his chin like? My impression without seeing his earlier fights (seen only what has been shown in U.S. on Tele) is that its solid but not granite. Am I right?
Yes. Hattons Chin is very solid. He was Down once agains Magee, but it was an off balance glancing blow. Some say Tszyu put him down with a body shot, but it was obviously low!
