I was watching some old Marco Antonio Barrera fights last night, against Morales, Marquez, and Juarez. And in the Marquez one I believe, Larry Merchant said that he's never seen someone respond to a punch, faster than Marco Antonio Barrera.
After watching those fights I'd have to agree because Barrera fires back instantly and usually with bad intentions. I was wondering, who else do you think responds to landed punches in such a quick fashion? Or is there someone who does it even faster than Barrera?
Holyfield at Cruserweight. Watch Holy/Qawi(or Braxton before that). He also showed very good Counterpunching ability versus Bowe,Tyson, and others. He lost most of his reflexes later on, but in prime he was one hell of a counterpuncher!
As far as the best i ever seen? Toney when he wasn't a slob!
I disagree, Holyfield usually had to cock back a bit and power up b4 returning fire..... This is The MAN of this topic>>>>>>>>>>>http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/images/leonard-sugar-ray-11.jpg

I agree, Barrera is the guy I have the most mental pictures of.
Viciously, accurately and consistantly. Barrera.
There's a handful of guys who like to answer but none quite like Marco.

i can't think of any fighter that responds to punches with counters as fast as barerra. it's like if you land a clean shot on him, he's landing it right back before you can form any kind of defense or offense in doubling up. i also think that it is a natural gift because he does it so well.
morales is up there with him as mentioned before but barerra holds that title of being the fastest to let you have it with a counter after being hit, its amazing to watch, especially since watching him fight you know its going to happen.
I'd say Morales... when he got whacked by both Barrera (who has some power) and Pacquiao (who has an extreme amount of power) he rushed forward and threw right back. Absolutely incredible.
Yeah I'm a Barrera fan, and I cant really say who's better. Morales is the same exact way. Nobody does it like them except maybe Johnny Tapia.
De La Hoya is a good choice, I agree with that. He doesn't do it as much as Barrera and Morales though.
I know he did it a lot in the Mosley fight.
great example, i seen this fight like 20 times no word of a lie, a good fight of class A boxers

I remember someone hit Roy with a right straight and he hit back like he was a rubberband, pretty amazing. I don't think anyone does it better than Barrera though, Morales is definitely up there but MAB takes the cake.
yeah barrera is sick, but also morales as well, specially in his last fight against diaz....and de la hoya back in the days jr welter
I always thought that Morales matched Barrera quite well in reaction time but that HBO didn't give him his due because they painted him as the "bad guy". De La Hoya I think may have once been quicker than Barrera, but I don't know. I'd need video to confirm or disprove it.
