He's got heart, I'll give him that, but all I see him do is hold and wrestle... Not just a few times a match - 90% of the time he throws a punch he goes in to hold. It's a sad joke on boxing.
Surely that's a contradiction on what you said earlier. First of all you say is all he does is hold and should be a wrestler, then you say it's not that I don't think he's an exciting fighter, which one is he?
I think he's an exciting FIGHTER, that does not=boxer. He's fun to watch, but he wrestles after every punch.
Maybe he should make a go at MMA after Dec.8
At least Hatton engages. He uses holding tactics to bully, wheredown his opponent, and to nullify certain advantages they might have. Its hard to see anyone beating him in that kind of fight.
And Hatton actually works on the inside so there's nothing wrong with it, its not like Ruiz.
Last I checked, holding was still illegal in boxing. I know Floyd's gonna be all over him like white on rice (or brits on fish and chips) and won't let him hold like he's used to doing, but a good ref in there (like either Mercante, either Caiz, Benjie Estevez, or even Tony Weeks) would warn him about holding and possibly take a point. I don't remember if Weeks warned Ricky in the Urango fight, but he basically ran the whole time so he didn't do much holding, anyway.
SMC - That's asking a bit much isn't it, the kind of people that base an assesment of a fighter on one fight, and listen to people like Harold Letterman and base their opinion on that, obviously aren't intelligent or real boxing fans
Yeah true lol, It's unreal the amount of shit Ricky get's on this forum..Half of 'em judge him from the Collazo or Urango fights which is stupid beyond belief. It does make me laugh though because the majority of 'em obviously know Jack and shit..
Okay, I'll take it you've only watched his fight's since he came to America, Watch all his others and re-read what you've wrote, you make yourself look absolutely ridiculous
As above. Ricky is as exciting as anyone, I suggest you watch some other fight's of Ricky's before coming out with such shit

Here's my assessment:
Hatton holds (Harold Lederman called him "Hook and Hold Ricky Hatton").
The referee doesn't warn him about it.
It wins him fights.
So why shouldn't he do it?
He is not an exciting fighter though, that part is pretty clear in my mind.

It's not that I don't think he's an exciting fighter or doesn't have heart. And clinching is part of boxing. But when you do it with 9/10 punches in most all your fights...It's sorry. He does what he needs to do to win. Too bad it's not boxing.

First of all you say is all he does is hold and should be a wrestler, then you say it's not that I don't think he's an exciting fighter, which one is he? I know he hold a fair bit, but if youv'e seen all his fights and I have then you'll realise that he throws a tremendous amount of punches per round, he is one of the best body punchers if not the best in boxing today, has pretty good boxing skills when he needs them. Don't get me wrong I don't think hes got much chance against mayweather should he be up for the fight and box, but if PBF doesn't take him seriously, neglects his training for this dancing thing, and then decides he can stand toe to toe then Hatton has a good chance. I feel Hatton isn't getting the respect he deserves. We all know PBF is p4p no.1 and a much superior boxer, and most Hatton fans will tell you they think PBF will probably win, what we can't take is idiotic comments, and a total lack of respect for a very exciting unbeaten boxer, who has achieved a lot already. I think a lot of Mayweather nuthuggers are just wanna be mayweathers and like to talk trash, thinking it makes them like their idol, who maybe not against Hatton, but will someday get his arse and face severly beaten

I don't mind the holding it is strategy and legal, I guess.
even though I've seen fighters do far less holding yet not get penalised for it, go figure.
but does Ricky really have to hook his opponents arms and club them in the face when there defenseless?
thats a cowardly move, its not enough to hold, but you have to hook there arm, and hit them?
A good boxer knows when to punch and how to not take damage....hatton simply gets in throws a few and if he feels he needs to tie up the other boxer to not get hit...thats what he does....this gives hatton energy and wears down his opponent.....dont you guys know anything....?
:)
Or possibly... Hulk Hogan would be a better match. Your dick wouldn't reach my mom's inner lips. Come back after the operation.
Don't think I'll bother having that operation, I've heard your mom's got a C##T like a HIPPOS YAWN. :owned: :loser: :crucified :crackhead
damian5000 - You could do, but its a different form of wrestling, Butterbean's a sumo isn't he? By the way I love the picture of your mum, wouldn't mind slipping her one.
