The upcoming so called fight between Calzaghe and Kessler is a mismatch IMO. Kessler is overrated, and Calzaghe will have to much for him in every department and could be over as quickly as the manfredo fight. I don't see this fight going past 6 rounds. So if anyone thinks Kessler is going to win, I'll gladly take your money off you.
I might just add i can see why ring mag will put Calzaghe top 5 when he beats Kessler, thats the way they do things, Vasquez doesnt deserve to be number 5 on that list much more than calzaghe does, but in an ideal world, calzaghe shouldnt be top 5.
..................
I agree with most of this, but it still doesnt mean he should be top 5 on the p4p list, thats rediculous, there are better fighters out there who have fought better fighters and in better weight classes.
I can agree with this...i think calzaghe is for real.... but i would agree that he shouldnt be p4p top 5... however like anything else if he continues to win against the toughest competition at his weight class than eventually he would move up thats a given....but right now i agree not top 5 p4p.....
I can understand ur point...but we have to remember that he can only fight who's available.... and people think kessler is on his level so he really is fighting someone who they consider to be one of the best in that weight ...i cant knock calzaghe for that... he's taking on what they consider to be the toughest opponent in that weight class.... now again if the competition isnt all that good its not calzaghes fault...but he does fight whoever the best competition is in that weight...i mean he dismantled lacy... and now steps in against kessler.....now as for p4p who really knows but against kessler we'll be able to have more evidence of how good he is.....

.................
Its true, if Calzaghe was american he would be alot more hyped, fact is, he is a world class fighter in a poor division, thats my only problem with him, but when his groupies start talking about top 3 p4p when he hasnt fought one great fighter other than eubank and there are alot more than 2 better fighters in the world than him.

I think most british fighters are overrated ....however calzaghe is not one of them if he were american people would be on his nuts...i think he wins versus kessler...but it'll be a good fight..........better than mayweather versus hatton where mayweather embarrasses the hitman.....lmaooooooooo
It Sure Is .......it Should Have Been Manny Pacquia Vs Chalzage
A reference to Manfredo? Yeah, that was bad. How that got so hyped up and enough to fill Cardiff amazes me.
It's just that Kessler throws the same 'jab-right' over and over. He's not gonna hit Calzaghe with that.
Calzaghe has little defense, while he throws, and he does that alot; its easy to land on him.
Kessler is a great counter-puncher and JC will be stopped in his tracks.
Kessler is a good fighter and it's going to be a very competitive fight, I'm predicting a close ud for calzaghe. BTW I think his hands will hold up in this fight for some reason, maybe I should leave of the puff!!
the only knock you could put on kessler was he didnt work the body enough and didnt ko an opponent who he seemed to hit at will. But other than that he put on a near perfect performance against an opponent who seemed pretty good; good combination punching, very good footwork and an ability to keep andrade at punching distance, he showed a very good defense, ability to move when he needed to and it was pretty obvious those weren't fether fidted shots he was tagging Andrade with, Andrade displayed an iron will just finishing that fight. Kessler also demonstrated pretty good stamina keeping a consistent attack up all 12 rounds. what limitations did you see?
He never varied his attack, even though Andrade was open to uppercuts and right there for him to hook of his right hand. It's just that Kessler throws the same 'jab-right' over and over. He's not gonna hit Calzaghe with that. That's why I called him a 'two-punch' fighter.

The problem is assuming Andrade is any good. He isn't. He wasn't.
Kessler will need to show an awful lot more than he's shown in his previous showings to trouble Calzaghe. The Danes seem to think there's something more there but I haven't seen it.
I don't see a very good fighter at all, but I'm willing to accept I could be wrong. My guess is Calzaghe will stop him in 6rnds, or at least whip him on points. I'm willing to bet anyone that Calzaghe will win, are there any takers or maybe no one else thinks Kessler can win either
Maybe he saw something the rest of us didn't? In all respect Kessler showed great footwork, handspeed, and timing in that fight. But he also showed some limitations, so it seemed to me.

skilspaydabills - Yeah mate I'll have a wager on this one with ya
You'll have to explain how it works as I'm new to all this. Is it whoever loses donates to the other user or what? Also how much do you wanna lose
Who said that? Kessler is a straightforward two-punch fighter. He has decent power and very good speed, but I can't see how this won't be easy for Calzaghe to come off looking great again.
Easy eh? you forgot a lot of things, stamina, timing and maybe he is the most disciplined fighter out there -that's going to be the real problem for Calzaghe.
Kessler has no problem fighting his way out of trouble, even at close range.. Some claim he can’t - based on fights when it wasn't needed?? I don't get that.
Has anybody ever seen Kessler caught? No. - And you won’t. He rarely looses a round.
If he can beat Calzaghe by using straight punches, he will, but i'm sure Calzaghe is good enough to force some firework out of Mikkel.
Underrating Calzaghe was a mistake made by many Lacy fans who knew to little about him.. Now I see many of Calzaghe's fans doing the same thing.. You are in for a big surprise ;)
I don't disagree TS, but HBO's coverage decisions have nothing to do with the boxing aspects of the event. When the real fans discuss a fight on here, what is 'big' makes little difference. Fuck Holy and Jones will be on PPV this Fall, but no one here talks about them
Thats cos all people wanna talk about is hatton mayweather,
Fuck HBO, boxingscene has been doing hatton mayweather 24/7 since the fight was announced, i feel myself gravitating towards a formula one forum.

Ive been saying this for ages, its the most overhyped fight of year, and the one i least care about of the big fights, calzaghe should win with ease, proper fight we need to be talking about are
Pacman vs Barrera
Rafael Marquez vs Isreal Vasquez 3 (if there is gonna be a third one)
Hatton vs Mayweather
Cotto vs Mosley,
Calzaghe vs Kessler just isnt in that league for me, and for those who think it is, HBO dont agree with you, cos as far as i know Calzaghe Kessler can be summed up in those 3 little words.
Free- To- Air.

Do you think Kessler is faster than Lacy??
