Ref Cole, WTF

Jeez dude...let the guy state his opinion, even if you dont agree with it. There's no room for that crap in the forums. Anyway, I have always thought Cole was the worst ref in the biz, by far. Ever since I first saw him work a FSN card some 3 or 4 years ago; I dont remember who fought (some ringe heavyweight contenders or something), but even there he was making calls and decisions that were very questionable. I do know that his father does hold some clout in the commission, but imo he has got to go. His father is Dicky Cole, the head of Texas Boxing Commission. They should be sent to the gallows.

i remember the pac-barera fight he called a slip a KD and a KD a slip both in favor of barera. tsak tsak. and then he told marquez he wins even if he stops. damn! plus he's ugly.

Exactly right. It's sad, but true. Everyone involved in MMA or boxing in Texas who knows him is just disgusted. As long as his daddy is on the commission, he won't be going anywhere.

Laurence Cole is son of Dickie Cole, who is Texas Boxing Commissioner. Dickie was also a referee for many years and handed down the insurance company to his son. I believe it is one of only two insurance companies that insure boxing cards in the US. Referees get paid according to the profile of the bout, i.e. more for TV than off TV and even more for PPV. Coincidence that Larry gets all the high profile bouts? There are much worse refs in TX and he got the main event last night partially because he's an NABF official. I dont think he's a horrible ref., but the family's got ethics issues for sure.

His father is a Nevada boxing official. Thats probably the obly reason he still got a license to ref. He is the WORSE referee in the whole world. :nonono:

he makes some horrible decisions. But he's truly not a terrible ref. But your garunteed one or two "WHAT THE FUCK???" moments when he's refereeing

yeah he seriously needs to be reviewed, he progressively gets worse, you think that after that suspension that he would have tightened up his game, but that is far from the case. he missed a knockdown or what should've been called a knockdown, hinojosa was going to go down anyway with that attack and it was caused by a punch kind of a delayed reaction but non the less cole missed it. and then he doesn't even recognized that hinojosa clocked huerta after the bell, twice. it was like the bell meant that hinojosa was supposed to start throwing when it was for the end of the round, cole missed that twice, and then with the time outs, even though it was for the safety of the fighter, the timing on the one right before the end of the round seemed suspect. cole is no bueno...................

That dude is the worst, he got suspended earlier this year..
