Why do so many people beleive Mosley will defeat Cotto?

I think it will be alot like cotto vs judah. Cotto will just wear him down.

Cotto has a huge weakness that Judah further revealed. A less than solid chin. He can get caught coming in with quick sharp straight punches. And the thing is, Mosley has the most powerful crisp sharp straight punch Cotto has ever faced. He's knees wobbled a more than once against an average puncher in Judah. Mosley will put him on his ass if is as open as he was against Zab. Zab coulda landed the straight left whenever he wanted too, he just didn't throw it enough. Mosley won't be as Inactive as Judah, and ( barring some low blowes) will knock him out!

some people are going for shane because they are floyd fans and they rather floyd fight shane than cotto

Shane is faster, better handspeed, footwork, more experienced. Has fought the better competition. I think it'll make up for his age. Cotto's chin could still be questionable. I expect Shane by decision or if Cotto's chin doesn't hold up TKO.

I guess people are going by what they saw in the Judah fight. When Jab stung Cotto he didn't real try and finish him off. But, we've all seen Mosley finish a fighter with a strong flurry, whe he's had someone hurt. Plus shane has a good chin, he's been in with Faster, bigger, stronger and harder punching guys.

People feel mosley will win,because cotto has been hurt in his last few fights.He also get hit alot ,but noone seems to jump on him after he's been hurt.Mosley must stay away from the body punches of Cotto early and box.Late round stoppage MOSLEY

Cotto welcome to the ring with a real welterweight that will finish the show once you get rocked. Your power doesnt apply in welterweight so much. your not that much stronger then the elite fighters in this weight class and you for damn sure dont have the best chin in this west class. not even top 5 or 6 or 7. When you fight mosley you will see whats its like to be in the ring with someone quicker, smarter, and more skilled then you. someone that once you get caught(and history shows you do get caught quite often) he will finish the show. And all this when mosley is a little over the hill. Cotto is about to get EXPOSED!! its gonna be recardo torrez again but worse and different outcome for cotto. He's a great guy though hopefully he'll rebound and be a solid competitor in the future

mosley has all the tools to beat Cotto, he just has to use his experience foot speed and smart movement to keep cotto off of him and create space for him to effectively counter. If he cant keep Cotto off of him than his only hope will be to catch Miguel and Knock him out, otherwise cotto will pressure him into the ground. Cotto has to find his range, punch in combinations and do his thing to the body but he also has to pump his jab to do damage and keep shane from finding his rhythm. Both of these guys will get to know each other real quick and i think we will see exactly how this fight will play out after the first couple of rounds.

In all due seriousness I can't figure out why so many people see Mosley defeating Cotto. First off Mosley doesnt have power at welterweight(and no Vargas doesn't count). Second he can't adapt in a fight(as proven by his fights with Forrest and Winky) and Cotto can. And finally he might have a tought chin but nobody has a tought body and Cotto will kill his body. So how can Mosley defeat a guy who has more power and skill than he has? More SKILL??

Cotto get's no respect for being an elite unless he comes out of this fight victorious, until than he is just a pretty good fighter.

Cotto has a glass chin yup he's getting KO'd by Mosley.

I say the best way for cotto to win is to bang the body. He'll eventually wear mosely down and get him in the later rounds. As far as skill and handspeed goes Mosely has him in that category. Look at the judah fight. Times when judah actually used his handspeed and power he gave cotto problems. But given judah's lack of mental toughness he wasn't able to capitalize and he got his ass kicked. Thats not the case with Mosely. He's mentally tough as well as physically. I still don't think it would be an easy win though. Mosely will have to be smart and not allow hisself to be subjected to Cotto's vicious body attacks. Given Shane's age he might tire later on in the fight which will be bad because Cotto will not get tired. Cotto will see that and go in to finish him. We'll just have to see which fighter is gonna carry out their plan to win the fight.
