I'm still not seeing it. It was probably a bad card, cause there was like no fighting at all in most of the fights.
But the crowd was goin nuts when a guy would get tackled and what not... and... idk, to me it was really boring.
And everyone loves the tackles, and they are kinda cool, but they lead to SUCH boring action and roling around on the ground and everything.
And ANYBODY who says UFC fighters are anywhere near as talented as Boxers is crazy. More athletic? maybe some of them are, but more talented? not even a chance.
They punch like amatuers a swear...
The good UFC fights are good and fun, but they are street brawls. theres no skill. I just dont see it
oh come on, my posts on this have all made perfect sense :) haha. lve given it a bit of thought in any case.
and, unfortunately, you see dumb ideas on mma forums too man. I used to belong to a mma website, and you would get ridiculous things like 'the style of boxing makes fighters in mma worse' or, this is one of my favorites, Aleks Emelienenko would become good enough to be a heavyweight boxing champion with 6 months of training.
but its not a big deal, personally I get a laugh out of it...mma is fun for a while, but after a while I just get tired of it. it just doesnt get deep enough into each style.
You see, and instead of being better than those posters, everyone is here just like them.
They say ignorant stuff about boxing, just like here a lot of guys say ignorant stuff about MMA.
In the end, everyone is just the same.
Only, i see a lot more hate on this site then on MMA sites.
Look what Liddell was about to accomplish with a decent take down defense and amateurish striking skills.
Liddel has decent take down defense? its the best in the world, the only guy to take and keep him down was randy, and randy is a world class wrestler, and he has excellent kickboxing ......this comin from a guy who HATES chuck

i say this on MMA forums too
I love Boxing, i love K1, i love MMA
what does that mean ?
I have heaps more to watch and enjoy than you guys
There are some boring as hell MMA events, there are some boring as hell boxing events
i mostly see MMA as entertainment, i fucking love boxing 2000 times more than i like MMA, but even i admit MMA has some good fights...
Roger Huerta is the most entertaining fighter ive seen in MMA and GSP is also pretty exciting, specially when he wasnt supposed to humiliate Koschnek in the ground like that....
all the mma diehards are ignoring my posts :(
maybe, just maybe, people prefer boxing better than mma. seems pretty simple. its a matter of preference. You go to a mma website and talk about boxing and itll be ignored or put down or called boring for the most part, wtf do you expect here.
Nothing really stressfull, but some realism and normal posts with some knowledge would be nice.
When someone writes down that he can't watch UFC because he can't stand ground fighting what is there to write about?
Guy wanted a boxing match in MMA fight, there is no point in answering him.
Then we read stuff like Mayweather needs three months of wrestling and he will be unstoppable, this is so stupid argument that there is no point in answering that.
That's not about preference, that's about ignorism and shitting on other sports.
I'm watching MMA for 5 years, and i love it.. There is rarely a fight that is boring too me.
I watch boxing since De La Hoya - Mayweather fight, and i'm really starting to like it.
I watch K1 also, i really like how Por.Pramuk fights, his knees and everything.
And i'm not shitting on any of those sports, even though i saw a bunch of boring fights (boxing), a bunch of freak fights (K1), but still i show respect to boxing, K1, Muay Thai just like i show respect to MMA.
And everyone should do that without being ignorant fuck.
Thank you.
if you don't like - don't watch it.

Talented people will accel at whatever they do.
With 3 months of training in the basics of the ground game, and take down defense, Floyd Mayweather WOULD be able to roll through anyone that MMA had to offer him.
Look what Liddell was about to accomplish with a decent take down defense and amateurish striking skills.
I dont know why people assume a boxer would totally neglect to learn about the ground game before stepping into the octagon.
Guess what? he would be a Mixed Martial Artist then....not just a boxer.
What turns me off about UFC is everyone and there mama claims to know BJJ. Also, I just dont find the ground game as interesting in MMA anymore. I know alot of the moves and it was fun learning them and I know it takes alot of skill to pull them off. But its just boring alot of the time and seems like their just down there catching a breather. Yes they keep active. But its nothing compared to being active in just plain wrestling or boxing. You take a break and your done. I wrestled in high school and it was very fun. And I was good at it. But keep wrestling wrestling. Keep boxing boxing. Keep BJJ BJJ. Lets see the best of best go at it in there specialty. Not a combo of half this half that and not really good at either. If I saw too guys fighting at a bar or on the street and it went to the ground and they were wrestling or ground game as mma's would call it. I would seriously laugh or want to kick one of them. 30 seconds on the ground...???? Id tell them to get the f up and box. I dont want to watch men wrestling on the ground when there suppose to be fighting. Get the f up and kick some fn ass. I dont want to see you laying on top of each other grabing legs and arms. Or someone on the ground with his legs wrapped around the other guys back while pulling his head into his chest. But a good rear naked choke or guillotine is always fun if its pulled right away :) You try to put me an armbar or choke me out in the street....well expect a Mike Myson bite coming. I got sharp teeth too. Or some eye gouges. Box me and go toe to toe biatch. Call me old fashion... but fighting is done standing the f up. I watch UFC often. It was interesting getting into it at first. I actually even went to some classes to learn it. There is a lot involved. A whole lot. It does take alot of skill on the ground. But its just not my flavor. Ive given it a chance... but the more I watch it... the more I see how lame alot of it is. The top guys are top and are awesome to watch. But all the fillers are just lame. Another thing that gets me is watching guys train so hard for months just to get ko'd by a kick in 30 seconds or get choked out. I like boxing because it makes me feel like if i ever got into it with someone I know its on. Learning the ground game beyond the basic's wont really do anything for you in a live situation IMO (yes my opinion). Sprawling and choking on top of boxing skills I feel will be more than adequate enough for me for real life situations. What stuck with me is what I read when a boxing analyst went up against a UFC analyst. The boxing analyst mentioned that all the crowds at UFC bloodlust. And if you look at the crowd, it's the same crowd you would see at a WWF. I looked at it and he was right. All they want is to see blood and big KO. I personally like to watch someone who has tried to perfect a skill with style, grace power. I mean you can see right away if a boxer has the sweet science down. You can see it in his footwork, speed, power and form. UFC has no form. Its a free for all everyone has there different form and technique. Which usually ends up looking sloppy. It is more diverse... but I dont care for it's diversity. I want to see a specific skill being perfected. The sweet science. Sorry for the long post. No disrespect intended toward MMA fighters.
Silva is amazing, you really can't say enough about him.
Iceman is cool but he's not the funnest to watch. IMo
Rampage is a monster.
Randy is a true warrior .
Cro Cop is just plain scary with his kicks.
Sanchez is a little crazy but fun.
Matt is great but seems like a prick.
GSP is great and seems like a good guy.
No one likes the striking mastery of anderson silva?!Ice Mans Knock out power?Running knees to the head?WoW.I like both sports.I only like watching the big dos of UFc tho.Its more exciting.
Anderson Silva knows his ****, thats for sure. Liddell never impressed me.
some of yall are acting like people have slapped your mother or something just because mma is questioned a little. lighten up. stop being such damn whiners. and stop trying to act like you guys know everything and everyone else is below you, some people on this site know plenty about mma.

This is a horrible place to discuss something like this, maybe somewhere where there are less casual boxing fans than die hard ones. I respect both sports and think they make each other better. I can appreciate how hard it is to take someone who is a 4 time national champion down and control him on the mat like he was an amateur.
Something that makes Couture's victory even more impressive is that he broke his arm, in the third round, blocking one of Gonzaga's high kicks.

COUTURE BREAKS ARM
Even Superman feels it from time to time.
Following yet another feather-in-his-cap performance Saturday at UFC 74 in Las Vegas, real life superhero Randy Couture (16-8), was informed Sunday by doctors that he’d broken his arm during his third round TKO stoppage of Gabriel Gonzaga (8-2).
Couture, 44, sustained the injury Saturday blocking a Gonzaga right high kick with his left forearm, cleanly separating the ulna bone with a “nightstick fracture,” a break common in law enforcement circles. The injury placed the UFC heavyweight champion’s arm in a splint for six weeks. The appendage will not need a cast.
“It’s not displaced, so the doctors think it will reattach in about a week and a half,” said Couture, who embarks on a South African adventure to shoot a leading role in major motion picture “The Scorpion King – The Akkadian” in nearly six weeks. It is believed the injury will not effect Couture’s shooting schedule...
Everyone also seems to say that boxers would beat ufc fighters in the ring, what about boxers goin into a cage, without anyother training, just there boxing and doing it mma rules? (i personally got ma ass kicked tryin this lol)
everyone pretty much knows this, why take a person and stuff them in a sport they dont belong in? BUT, its definately not impossible for a boxer to make it in mma if he could adapt
but why in the hell would I want him to adapt? It would be a waste of his boxing ability if he went into mma. Even if he could adapt to mma, he would just overmatch people standing and it would look like a mismatch, OR he would get taken down where he doesnt belong and it would be a mismatch AGAIN. thats just the reason Im not a big fan of mma anymore...
keep fighters in their element, thats what looks the best, when you have two of the best of a certain style going at it, it goes into realm of fine art, that very rarely happens in mma because of all the styles.

thats complete BS and you know it.
They wouldnt even be able to tackle him.
Boxing is a part of the UFC as well, and considering how talented Mayweather is, he'd keep it a boxing match, jab and move laterally. These guys would be diving for the legs buy Mayweather would just slide out of the way and bash 'em in the head. And he'd jab as they come in.
I can see it in my head. It would be so easy. UFC guys just arent talented boxers, or even punchers. They punch like amtuers and its a fact.
The fights can be entertaining, im not saying anything about that, but the fighters themselves are just not skilled. Maybe the next generation will be
And what happens when Mayweather takes a a couple kicks to the thighs? You say you are "giving MMA a chance" but it looks like you are just trying to find a reason to hate on it.
These are two different sports all together. Why would they want to have perfect boxing technique when they need to worry about a bunch of other things? Basing their level of skill on their ability to box is retarded. IT AINT BOXING. Boxing is one of many martial arts, and they apply every art in their sport.
I'm not into it as much as I was a couple of years back, but I still recognize and respect the skill involved because make no mistake about it, there is plenty.
