I can't imagine them wearing contacts. Today, during practice my contact fell out once, and nearly came out several times.
Or is it not all that important to have 20/20 in the ring, as it's all about the person who is already close to you in the first place?
I had one of my contacts knockout the other day while sparring. Since the other one was still in I wasn't completely impaired but my vision is so bad that if my both of my contacts were out, I might as well just wear a big target on myself because I'm gonna be worthless and take a lot of punishment. Yes, I think good vision helps.
but if you really think about it, that line is bull shit
Exactly, heart isn't going to help you see punches coming. It'll merely help you get up when you get raped from a punch you never saw in the first place.
No, but it sure helps. Infact, that's one of the reasons I quit. I just couldn't see blows coming and whatnot, and felt, it just wasn't worth it to my health when I was already giving away a nice advantage with my vision. Sparring is a good way to see where you stand in the ring and if your having problems with your vision in sparring, make your decision there.

Well take this example.
Vitali and his eyeball nearly falling out of his eyesocket still could fight.
Guys with eyes wide shut still can fight.
I mean look at the state of some boxers eye area during fights...
So no you dont need 20/20 "gonna be a USAF pilot" vision.
