This is going to be amazing, here is the whole card.
October 6th, 2007
Madison Square Garden
New York City, United States
Oleg Maskaev vs. Samuel Peter
Daniel Santos vs. Jose Antonio Rivera
Andrew Golota vs. Kevin McBride
Paul Briggs vs. Tito Mendoza
Unfourtanetly, this is the same night as Pacquiao-Barrera, I won't be home to watch either of them, but some of you have a choice to make.
I dont see Maskaev being heavy handed enough to take out Peter, but I do see him being aware of his limitations and being cautious enough to keep that right hand up to block the Peter left hook the way Wlad did. I think this kind of planning and caution will allow him to stay just busy enough to beat the easily winded Peter.
I don't think that a 'cautious' fight plan is the best option for Maskaev. I think Maskaev has got to fight a relatively 'fast fight,' keep Peter off balance and out of rythmn( I don't know if he has rythmn, but still) while trying to keep a sound defense and not making any mistakes...
Also, I think the biggest factor in this fight will be Peter's conditioning. If he comes into this fight in shape and ready to go 12 rounds( like he did in the rematch against Toney)then there's no doubt in my mind he'll stop Maskaev. However, if he comes in heavy like he did in the first fight against Toney, then Maskaev will have a good chance of taking him the distance to an UD or even KO' ing him in the later rounds..
I believe it will be quite the contrary, Oleg Maskaev KO 8.

Maskaev will be KO'd in the 2nd round. Maskaev has never withstood a heavy puncher in his career.
He soundly outboxed Tua for their entire fight...
until he got caught. :owned:
What are doing wasting your time over at ESB?...And more importantly what's your analysis on the Golota Mcbide fight?
You didn't ask me, but I'll chime in anyway. My analysis is that McBride is gonna get the holy living shit beat out of him by a hungry Pole. KO inside of 3 for sure.
Golota by KO, its a pity he never won a belt. He was better than some of the champions but never got it.
Sam is gonna bust Maskaev up I think. Whenever he lands the first solid shot. Hes to old...
golota is someone I would never bet on actually, mcbride either it will interesting to see which one quits first but, IF golota makes up his mind that he's going to fight and win mcbride could be in for a hard night.
Ok definitely, I will be away at basic training at the time of the fight, so i will give you the points now, and if oleg maskaev wins, just send them back. Deal?
OK, you got it buddy and good luck with your basic training; go out there and kick some ass!...:fing02:
Wow, that's a pretty unpopular prediction; care to place a wager on it? 5K points maybe?..PM me if you're interested.

Maskaev is a KO highlight reel waiting to happen at the fists of Sam Peter. Peter by TKO 6...

Dudes..McBride is a bum period. Every time he tries to step up he gets whacked.
Golota is done..D-O-N-E done
He had some promise long ago but like ferdie pachecko said.
"a million dollar body ...and a 10 cent brain"
They are just a side show now
Too bad tho and andrew did have his moments.
I had him winning against Ruiz! the only fight of that 4 that i lost on and still made $1600 dollars on 4 bets of $500 on each fight.
(thats real money not pretend)
He looked horrid against Lewis, laid off to the right with his arm extended and allowed the taller fighter to tee off on him. That showed how really raw he still was.
Now on the positive side.
I like Maskaev! any dude who worked in a mine in Kazakhstan is no one to mess with! and the KO of Hasim did him wonders in the credability department! I think Peters will outwork him for the win.
Comments?

Lets get something straight.
McBride NEVER beat Tyson.. Tyson just gave up and quit. There is a Difference there.. McBride is not Lewis or Holyfield... Tyson gave it all he could and then just said.. ah fuck it!
Granted, but Golota is an Old Punching Bag himself and I don't see how he would stand a chance against a bigger, stronger, confident and younger fighter.
I just don't see it.
I think Mcbride is going to come into this fight trying to prove something and vindicate himself after his embarrassing loss against Mike Mollo last year. Plus, he's got Buddy Mcgirt as a trainer for all that's worth. As for Golota, who knows what you'll get?
I'm picking Mcbride by mid to late TKO...
It's definitely a possibility, though i'd hate to admit it.

I want to write about boxing, and I sent alot of emails to them here and they never replied, ESB actually contacted me and asked me to write for them, so I accepted.
I don't find Mcbride to be a good boxer anymore. He had his moments, but never really fought any big names, other than Tyson, who he knocked out in 6 rounds. That worries me only because Golota was stopped in the 3rd round by Tyson, but only because he asked that the fight be stopped. I think if Golota actually had his head on straight he could have very well beat Tyson.
With Mcbride being the boxer that shows up occasionally and Golota being the boxer who will fight well he feels like it, this fight is hard to predict. Golota is unpredictable and could very easily become angry and decide he wants the fight to be over, or may show up out trained (as he was against Brewster). However, he maintained his cool against Ruiz (I actually attended this fight) and beat his last opponent as well.
I would say, if Golota shows up in shape and wants to fight, he could win a UD or maybe a late round KO but if he comes in sloppy, he will be outboxed and stopped early.
