His resume is the best among fighters in their primes.
Clearly you can find better resumes in De La Hoya, Holyfield, Jones Jr., James Toney.
you got to be smokin' somthin' man
This should have been a who has the best resume of the active boxers list. If you consider Lewis still in the mix than he obviously get's the nod. Floyd is in the top 5 though, if he beats hatton and the winner of cotto/mosley than I think Lewis has a run for his money.
most definitely.as a matter of fact lewis has beaten 3 HOFers floyd has beaten 5:ugh:
5? Don't kid yourself.
Lewis, Holyfield and De La Hoya EASILY have better resumes than Floyd. The only one on there that really stands out better than Floyd though is Lewis, because he is "undefeated in a sense." Everyone he lost or drew to, he beat them in a rematch, which is very impressive.
And Dios... don't you know? Viva is the man to tell everyone what they and everyone else is thinking. I didn't even know that I hated all Mexicans until Viva informed of this. If Viva says Ricky is the smaller man, than you shut the fuck and write it down, because it's right.
Why has Viva Mexico not been banned? Shouldn't there be a "you must make 1 good post per every 100" rule?
5 division champion and undefeated
Beat Castillo twice, Corrales, Judah, De La Hoya, Chavez, G.Hernandez and C.Hernandez
Look at some of the bums Winky and Pacquiao lost to. Even Hopkins for crying out loud.
The only one with MAYBE a better resume today is De La Hoya, but he also has 5 losses.
The poll has an option that says "best in boxing today". It's spelled out pretty clearly.
does the phrase eat a dick and Winky UD Taylor mean anything to you phag boy?
Welter,
In November of 2003, PBF fought at 135. 135 = Lightweight.
Learn the sport, champ.
In May of 2004 he fought Corley At 140... It was an estimate of time.. that was only off by a few months..
It has nothing to do with me not knowing the sport.. I have been a Boxing FAN for almost 30 years.. That's alot of Information to remember.. I cant be expected to get every date spot on..:lol1:
If I was a fan of a Particular fighter instead of the sport in general.. I might know everything about THAT fighter.. But I only worship the game.. Not the players..
30 years ago none of these guys existed.. 20 years from now they will just be names in a Book and Images on recorded media..
I will STILL be a Boxing fan.. does that make sense??
Today I want To see Cotto Not Hatton.. to me hatton is Just a poor man's Version of Cotto.. I think Floyd knows he is the easier fight also..
I think this is fairly off base, the only thing those two have in common is that they like to go to the body frequently. Cotto has a much mroe orthodox style and will walk his opponents down and throw hard punches. Hatton is less orthodox, and relies on frightening footspeed and angles to make openings.
4 years ago Floyd was fighting at 140 and DLH was fighting at 154.. Both could have easily made 147 and fought same with Mosley..
No he was fighting at 135.
De La Hoya apparently cannot make 147 for Floyd anyways.
DLH and Mosley are the names Floyd called out forever, because they were the biggest name$ available. If THOSE two fights did not happen it's definitely NOT his fault.
Four years ago, they were several weight classes apart. Four years ago, PBF was a lightweight, and ODLH and Mosley were fighting at 154.
?
4 years ago Floyd was fighting at 140 and DLH was fighting at 154.. Both could have easily made 147 and fought same with Mosley..
Welter_Skelter, what names do you want to see on his resume?
I wanted to see DLH and Mosley 4 years ago.. Not Now.. Its too late..
I wanted to see Kostya Tszyu 3-4 years ago
Today I want To see Cotto Not Hatton.. to me hatton is Just a poor man's Version of Cotto.. I think Floyd knows he is the easier fight also..
I though saying No to Margarito.. and then Saying Baldomir was a much better choice.. Come on.. Both of them are fucking stiffs with heart and not much else.. was a piss poor choice.. But baldomir had less Power so less a threat.. there are challenges and always have been .. fights he would prolly win.. But not comfortably.. Its a fight ... not just a display of his talent.. Fight for God's sake..
If Floyd hasn't accomplished anything of note, what do you say about Hatton's body of work?
Hatton Is a Chump... I am No fan of his..
I think Had his Great Win against Tszyu been anywhere else.. he would have been DQ'd or lost... I mean he winked at fucking REF for christs sake..
Contrary to what some people Think ..I like Floyd.. I just think he is Chicken.. and Thats why I criticise Him..I know he is the best.. You know it.. and he Knows it..
So I just get tired of ALL the talk and then he takes Fights against Guys he has no business claming to be the best cause he beat them..
I want to see him be the best BY beating best,, not just displaying his skills in exibhibition type Fights.. Judah was a decent Fight.. But everyone Knew what would happen.. and It did to a T..
Well active he is up there I suppose but I thought this was one of those all-time things again.
The poll has an option that says "best in boxing today". It's spelled out pretty clearly.
so saying something wrong to prove something right is right? i am sorry but no.
Come on man, the idea of counting losses was bullshit, you are smart and knowledgeable enough to know it. Hence my alteration.
Maybe I get tired of hearing about HOW great this guy is... when Clearly he has never proven that .. he simply hasn't done anything exceptional.. Nor has he had a his career defining fight.. And then hearing the same people who praise him .. put down other fighters for the exact same things Floyd does..
My pefect example is.. Someone saying.. That Paul Williams will prolly be the 1st guy to beat Mayweather..But that is still afew years away.. AND then it WONT BE FAIR because Floyd wont be in his prime anymore..
I dont know maybe I should have used the ages of The fighter's last 5 opponents instead of their losses
It still proves the point that no matter what I say.. Floyd fans will disagree and disagree with venom... Its like dealing with Religous Zealots
Floyd's legacy is ducking people and Fighting the guys who lost to the guys he is ducking...
Maybe you miss the irony in my posts..
It works Because The point is.. No one Fights the best Fighters available.. Floyds resume is no better than Anyone else... he has had his hand Picked oppenents as much as the next guy I am sorry you dont agree.. but that dont make me wrong and you right except in your own minds..
Why should opinion matter to anyone but yourself? Its one thing to not agree but then you laugh and insult like somehow YOU KNOW IT ALL.. you are just as fucking dumb as I am.. I promise..
so saying something wrong to prove something right is right? i am sorry but no.
Come on man, the idea of counting losses was bullshit, you are smart and knowledgeable enough to know it. Hence my alteration.
