we all knew it was gonna be an exiting fight to begin with, sold out within a week, its a fight we have wanted to see for ages and i wasn't let down whatsoever
i thought lewis would keep ivan on the end of his jab fairly easily, but ivan is a good little boxer and was in and out like lightning, lots of jabbing and moving in the earlier rounds but the action definately picked up mid fight.
the flash knock down surprised me, it wasn't much of a flush punch from calderon but with him being the bigger man and more experienced he placed and timed it well, i don't think lennox was so badly hurt he recovered easily and landed some good punches in round 7, then obviously knocked calderon down in the ninth, the rest of the fight was so exciting, sort of gatti ward but with bigger men, cortez didn't know what to do, i thought he might stop it when ivan had lewis on the ropes but im glad he didn't, 12 rounds of mostly action and a huge grin on both fighters faces towards the end, they knew they put on a good show.
not too happy with the draw i think calderon edged it, lewis should probably retire now hes fairly shot, maybe a fairwell fight against a smaller man than calderon.
how did you score it?
