I know everyone is sick of the Mayweather thread's!! In reality everysince the destruction of Arturo Gatti (6-05) he's been the man. Whether people hate him or love him when you mention boxing his name always comes up. Some say He's one of the best to ever lace them up. Some say he's an over-rated, over - protected, cherry-picking champ. No one can deny his skills though; albeit he's not always the most entertaining fact is he is undefeated after 38 fights and has 5 (3 legit) titles in 5 different weight classes. The question I have for everyone is what does Floyd have to do to be considered an all-time great?
why beat Cotto and Mosley? beat the winner of Cotto-Mosley is better, unless the fight is close as hell. assuming he beats Hatton, of course.
Id say go to 154 to become undisputed champ, but honestly I NEVER put Cory Spinks as the man at 154...I know Ring Magazine put him there, but who did he beat? Kamzarin? **** that...Mosley was top dog at 154 when Wright left, and since I thought De La Hoya took the 2nd Mosley fight (at 154), why couldnt he be top dog at 154 instead? and Floyd beat him soooo...
Longevity is a major thing people look at when deciding fighter legacies. If Sugar Ray Robinson didnt have that huge amount of wins, theres no way hed be unanimously the #1 p4p atg.
So Mayweather should just keep fighting forever, and even though some dickheads will go him crap about losing (which will happen eventually), I think most people would give him more credit

whats to understand? beat hatton, and beat him in an entertaining fashion...please the crowd
i honestly do not know a way that i could possibly clear that up for you =/
According to this genius... :stupid:
Marco Antonio Barrera is better all time than Ray Robinson, because he did it in a crowd pleasing fashion.
Absolutely brilliant. Correct more of the lies that I have learned about boxing in addition to to winning being secondary to exciting the crowd.
HUH?!
What if he beats Ricky fighting his OWN fight. Does that make him any less great?
Was Leonard less great for beating Hagler on his bicycle? Or by beating Duran by slipping and dancing? And doing the Ali shuffle and bolo punch?
Was Pernell less great by not going toe-to-toe?
Help me understand.

he's already great, and he should beat "made for his style" hatton and cotto and old mosley if he is as good as he says he is, he has fought good opposition, but honestly floyd has never fought a fighter in his prime with p4p skills(bcause there has been no one in his time at those wieght classes, not because floyd avoided them or anything...floyd has fought the best available) so its hard for me to say he is as good as the robnsons, leonards, durans, alis, whitakers and jones'.......specially when his style is more uncomfortable than impressive...and the fact that he struggled to beat the best 2 fighters he fought even when they werent top competition dont do good for him either in my eyes....

Beat Hatton (which he will) and then Mosley and Cotto in his next fights. Then he can retire.
Beat Hatton, then clean out the WW division. If he does that, there is NOBODY that can say shit! I hate the fucking guy, but if he does that, even i'll take my hat off to him.
