FOUR of his last SEVEN opponents were UNDEFEATED. One was considered the best fighter in the world. SIX of his last SEVEN fights were title fights, one being for the WELTER WEIGHT ring championship.
not bad for a club fighter! :boxing:
I'll never forget... In between rounds of the De La Hoya - Gatti fight, Hector Rocha says something like "I told you we shouldn't have take this fight...there's something wrong with this guy." Gatti fought everybody. Age gets to everybody though....Gomez had no business beating him, but he probably wouldve fast a similar outcome no matter when he fought Mayweather. Then again, it didn't help that he fought 3 wars agains Ward...
something is wrong with you if you choose to support a coward like mayweather and bash a real fighter and warrior like gatti. gatti has given us some of the greatest fights that we will never forget. mayweather has given us many boring fights i wish i could forget.
Mayweather is an all time great whether you like him or not. Ill support greatness anyday over a guy who only beat handpicked opponents and whenever competition slightly stepped up got his ass handed to him. What made Gatti a warrior? having no defense, yet able to take a punch? Warriors fight back, and against that guy you said no one should support Mayweather, Gatti didnt land not one punch of significance. yes, his fights were entertaining, he always showed heart blah blah ill give him respect for that, but dude was a c class fighter with a large following, nothing more.
if you are a fan of the lion in wizard of oz then i could see how you would respect mayweather.
Im just saying u got to have respect for someone who is considerd the best pound for pound fighter in the world

Now i think mayweather and gatti both deserve respect. Just for different reasons.
Additional truths:

In the fight against the so-called best fighter in the world, Gatti landed ten power punches (TOTAL) in six rounds.
Gatti was stopped by Hall of Famers Carlos Baldomir, and Alfonso Gomez.
In 2 of Gatti's four wins, those guys retired from Boxing immediately after.
In 2 of Gatti's four wins, the opponent had never fought outside his home European country.
:boxing:
Carlos who? He isn't a hall of famer. Baldy is no fuckin way hall of fame material.
gatti laid it all out to entertain the fans. he was not one of the greatest fighters of his era, but he had a hell of a heart. he doesn't belong in the hall of fame but he does belong in every single "i'll never forget when..." type of boxing story ever told.
props to arturo. quit hating on a retired fighter who did his job the best he could. if it's his fans that annoy you, learn to ignore. but don't take anything away from a guy who doesn't have a hell of a lot to take away from him in the first place- cos he left it all in the ring, for YOU.
