UFC weights run different then boxing..Sean Sherk actually fights at middleweight in UFC, the weight limit for his division is 156, so we'll make this fight at 160...who wins it?
Maybe Nikolay Valuev could win in MMA, because I don't know how much good trying to take him down will do, but in reality, this is a stupid concept. MMA fighters will beat others with MMA rules. Boxers will beat others with boxing rules. People who train for one sport don't really have the capability to change their entire train of thought on fighting before one fight. They have been trained extensively to fight one way, and it is ground into their mind.
palvik dosent have to wrestle with sherk if he dosent want too, he can force shrek to stand up!
And you really think Sherk will stand with him without trying to wrestle?
How can he force a stand-up when Sherk will shot on him and force clinch in first five seconds, that's if Pavlik doesn't get double leg to fence?
Give me a break, Sherk would own 90% of boxers in first two minutes, and other 9% in first 5 minutes.
Kermit Cintron has a legitimate wrestling background, only problem is that he is 147 pounder, while Sherk fought at 170 and was one of strongest guys there.
i think wlad klitchko can destroy most if not all guys in UFC without wreslting/ground trianing, especially guys with styles like tim sylvia
Ahahahahhahahahahahahahaha :puppy_dog
Randy Couture - clinch, takedown, TKO
Nogueira - double leg, submission
Vera - takedown, submission
CroCop - low kick, low kick, low kick until he is limp.
Gonzaga - takedown, submission.
Tim Sylvia - bullrush to clinch, takedown, TKO
etc...
Wlad Klitschko would need at least 18 months of wrestling to be competitive in UFC, that is what Randy Couture said.
And he said it correct so give us a break with your boxers >>>> all mentality.

Don't start this ignorant crap again. You got kicked out of the MMA forums for being an idiot, and for starting stupid threads. Don't get kicked out of Non-Stop for the same thing. You have no concept of the importance of grappling, so leave.
Cintron is the only boxer who I would like to see take on a UFC fighter with there rules. Cintron has an extensive wrestling background, definately a good enough background to be able to defend takedowns and stay on his feet. Combine that with Cintron's physical strength for his weight and punching power, put on some 4 oz. gloves, and that is one dangerous man.
No other boxer could compete against a guy like Sherk. They would get taken down, it is as simple as that. I believe that if you take a world class top 20 boxer and give him about 2 or 3 years of wrestling and ground training, and they could beat a UFC champ.
Boxing still pays more though, so who the hell is going to do that?

i know palvik isnt bulit for MMA, because with this body structure he wouldn't be a good wrestler, on the other hand when he lands punches on sherk could sherk take it?
id favor palvik by knockout
Get that MMA shit out of here. Fatboy.
In a stand up fight Pavlik would KO him easily. Inside the octagon, Sherk would probably break one of Pavlik's limbs.
As previously stated, Kermit Cintron vs. an MMA guy would be a much more interesting matchup. Personally I think Cintron could take almost any MMA fighter but I could be biased. His background in wrestling is impressive and his KO power is off the scales.

He has no wrestling back ground. Now Cintron is a different story. Even then he better get some BJJ lessons because Sherk is a Purple belt in that I think.
Pavlik is lead footed. He's not build for the UFC.
But these MMA guys punch like amatuers, and are clueless as to how to box, so if he cant wrestle and what not then obviously it would be all Pavlik
