After Peñalosa fight with his lucky punch came this thread to my mind.
¿Fights where the man is losing has a very lucky punch and wind his fight?
I remember Jorge Locomota Castro vs David Jackson, very espectacular KO with a lucky punch when Castro almost was owned. Awsome fight.
Its called being biased, phillipinos dont know shit about boxing..
Ask any boxing fan that isnt pinoy that whos better Jhonny or Gerry and im 99% sure they'll say Jhonny, why? cause its the TRUTH.
philippines winning against the great boxing nation of mexico in the World Cup, 5-1...
IT WAS A LUCKY FUCKING PUNCH
notice how its most of the pinoys that say it wasnt hahaha.. hilarious
When a fighter is losing and cant do shit and ends up winning by one single punch and to the BODY...thats what you call a lucky son of a bitch, if it wasnt for that punch he would've lost easy cause Gonzalez had the fight in the bag.
u talk as if penalosa was losing big and is getting mauled. if you think he is then your fucking delusional. jhonny was winning rounds but he's far from beating up gerry.
penalosa timed it. he is a thinking boxer, very much different from your so- called propects who depends on just plain skills.
thats the fact.
You think Gerry is better then Gonzalez, see i rest my case.
Well there's one way to know for sure. Let them fight. whoever comes out the victor is the better fighter. Do you think this is correct ?

uLOL :D
hahahahahahaa
That post is not for you. my bad for not quoting
me: penalosa is better than jhony
you: Gonzales is better than gerry
Its understandable that we got different views on it.
its cool, ha, after all its all just opinions, lol :)
i never had excuses and i said it wasnt a lucky punch, you just dont understand the difference between winning and being the better fighter
if i go in there wit foyd mayweather and i get outboxed 10 rounds, i go with a game plan to work the body tire him and ko him as i can but he is being much more effective than i am, i land apunch i certainly thorw a punch to the body, it lands, it certainly isnt a lcuky punch, as i intended it to hit mayweathers body and it land so weel that i ko him.. does that mean im a better fighter????no.....

no penalosa was the winner that night because he was able to ko johnny, however, johnnys domination of gerry up to that point proves he is the better fighter but got caught in he right place...
lets end it here.

DUMB people can call it "LUCKY PUNCH". And you are the dumbest of them all.
tsk tsk tsk tsk
the better Boxer not the better fighter overall. Penalosa kayoed jhony gonzalez thats a FACT.
Excuses are welcome.

If I were to get in the ring with Cotto and managed to knock him out with the first punch I threw, does that mean I'm a better fighter than Cotto? Of course there's lucky punches in boxing. Sometimes the out-gunned, out-skilled fighter wins by landing a lucky punch that the better man didn't see coming. That's boxing and that's what makes the sport so fun, it's unpredictability.
Well I bet the fighter that lands that 'Lucky' punch must have worked his ass in the gym prior to the fight. and that his intention and goal is to land that punch that why he did everything he could to be able to put himself in the position to land that punch at the exact time and spot.
He didnt work for it he just got 'lucky'. :nonono:
this is boxing. theres no such thing as a lucky punch. if you throw it, landed it, and knocked the guy out, thats a display of either ur power or ur timing. luck is not how you win.

ok lets put it this way.
i agree that jhony was the better boxer that evening because he was winning on pts. BUT i say penalosa was the better fighter overall that evening because he was able to knock jhony out.
do you agree? or are you saying that jhony was the better fighter that night?

as i said, shit happens, but gerry was definitly trying to hit to the body with the left all night, he landed the punch in the button and won the fight fair and square...gonzalez is clearly the better fighter, though...
Not when youre being beaten so decisively, he landed the punch and won but up to that point, johnny had proven to be much better...

Penalosa is the better fighter because he kayoed him. No?

Taylor was winning the Chavez fight on points but took a hammering throughout the fight; including the 11th and 12th. It was hardly a single punch out of nowhere, but I guess you could argue that the timing of the ko blow was pretty good luck.
Rahman/Lewis I was not one lucky punch either. Lewis was rocked several times and outworked throughout the fight, he actually got hurt by another big right hand that sent him scrambling to the ropes where he was finished as I recall.
Lucky punch? I would say Lewis badly slicing Vitali's eyelid open with a glancing punch that led to the stoppage several rounds later. :boxing:

I respect Peñalosa but i think was a lucky punch because Gonzales was winning easily and Peñalosa with istinc throwed that punch and ¡End of the history!
Gonzales deserves the rematch inmediatly.
you owned yourself with that post. he went for his instinct, yet you call it a lucky punch? wtf was that
there are boxing fans, and there are boxer fans.... you clearly belong to the latter group.
51 fuckin wins, a former world champion and at an old boxing age of 35.... it would be shit to call it a lucky punch.
