Vargas should win this fight and when he does he should think very long and hard about what he wants to do!!! Id like to see him fight again!!! who would he fight? middle weights and super middle weights? His career was ended by Tito and what fight he did have left in him was taken away by Oscar. I mean people can say he was giving Shane a fight but hes a much bigger guy than Shane and still got stopped twice by him. Imagine Fernando in there with a middle weight like Pavlik, ya not a good idea.

How did he look bad against Castillejo? He clearly won the fight. And then you mention Joval is a good fighter. Thats two solid wins. I'm not gonna make excuses for Mosley/Vargas 2 but Vargas had to lose weight, and that definitley had something to do with it.+ He did look bad. after that knockdown, what did he do that made him look good other than last 10 rounds against Javier? Joval is whatever. a career B fighter. Castillejo was a pretty good fighter but now he is B status. I dont know how the fuck he beat felix sturm in the first place anyways. are those 2 solid wins? sure, but they aint championship level victories either. Look, why do I say Oscar ruined him? because Vargas never reached the same level he was on before the Oscar fight. He knocked his down and then Vargas got up and took more of a beating before the ref stopped, and guess what? Vargas was not the same Vargas after that fight. He had that back injury going into that fight and the steroids further fucked up his back cuz it allowed him to fight with a broken back. After DLH took care of him it was the beginning of the end. Maybe I'm stupid but thats ruining somebody.

Even though I'm a Vargas fan I'm gonna have to agree with Dino. It seems to me like Vargas running from boxing and trying to involve himself in another in what to me seem like pipe dreams. (His clothing line, acting, etc. etc.) Vargas is a boxer, and he should box. Too many people feel that he's a B class fighter, and just a brawler. Vargas is an intelligent boxer, and if he looks good against Mayorga he should continue to fight. btw, Vargas didn't look bad at all against Castillejo. Vargas actually looked pretty good and probably could've stopped him early. And to the Winky Wright fan whos just mad his fighter lost to Fernando.. De La Hoya/Trinidad didn't "ruin" Vargas. Maybe ..It depends on how good he looks in the match. There are still a few fights that I would like to see him have but sooner or later he will run into another Mosley,Hoya,Trinidad. I really don't know what his title chances would be right now but regardless he has still only been beat by the very best of the best.
