I can't stand him and I cannot wait any longer until someone actually beats this guy. I think all my dreams would come try if Mayweather got KO'd ala Zab against Kostya. Im pulling for Hatton to knock that bum out.
Who here cant wait till he gets his first L?
funny thread. anyways its interesting because all i want is for floyd to be humbled. i dont care if its in the ring or not, i dont care if its in the form of a beating or not. all i want is for him to be humbled in some way which is very likely to happen one day in his life
:peeright: this is the same as i felt of odlh, i did'nt like oscar untill he lost. but when mayweather loses his first fight, he will drop the loud mouth routine, and he won't be acting like a wannabe gangster thug idiot, he'll get back to how he was before, a real fighter.
F that, mang, Roy Jones Jr, a legend in his own time, Still talks sh*t after gettin' str8 KO'd twice & clowned by Tarver in their last fight. Even the G.O.A.T. Muhammad Ali still talks sh*t when u can hear what he's sayin. F:fing26:Ricky Hatton, the best fighter out of the UK was Lennox Lewis (a Canadian/Jamaican). Can u Dig Dat!!!!:boxing:
When did he say he was a thug or gangster? Talking shit doesn't make you that. ?
Exactly,I hate how any time a person don't act all proper they get accused of being wannabe gangster and there is no such thing as
acting gangster. Gangsters don't all act the same way. Floyd
seems be macho and cocky but I see nothing gangster.

I'm with ya. Hopefully a brutal beatdown soon.
Montreal Canadiens fans also hope for a Stanley Cup soon. But they still ain't making the playoffs... keep dreaming dreamers.

I literally hope Ricky kills him. then he can get down on his knees and smash his face to smitheriens. I think he should eat his face after that.
To wish death upon someone, says a lot about your sanity and character as a person. I sincerely hope we don't have another "Cho" on our hands.
Unlike Roy, Floyd has defense beyond his speed and footwork, and would never get KTFO like Roy did.
Beat me to it, indeed his defense will allow him to quite possibly never find himself touch the canvas, unless he get's careless.
Floyd will keep winning until his speed and reflexes go. This may happen suddenly (RJJ) or gradually (Ali) Ali was able to keep winning by relying on his chin and intelligence. Roy did not have these vital assets. One day we'll know whether Floyd does.
so says the man with the floyd mayweather jr. avatar.
I seen what you were talking about during the fight. i get this. that is smart. BUT the whole fight wasnt just mayweather on the ropes. he ran. im all for the old saying, "make him miss, then make him pay". mayweather made him miss...but rarely in the fight made him pay.
i have burned the fight on dvd since about 2 weeks after it was over and everytime i watch the fight i still come up with the same opinion and the same 115-113 score for de la hoya...apprently im not the only one who believed he won the fight since mayweather DID score a split decision win one of the judges gave it to de la hoya...with the same score i had it.
a gameplan is very important BUT it is also important to adjust your gameplan during the course of the fight (especially if the gameplan isnt working) and thats what oscar did. he changed it up and decided not to continue to look for the perfect spot and timing to place the left hook. im sure it was always in his mind but i seen (we all seen) him try new things...and they were working.
i dont care what anyone says but according to the judges scoring (especially on the replay when it shows who they scored to win round by round) that they favored de la hoya's come forward and flurry repeatedly style in the fight. oscar won most of the rounds he charged and flurried EVEN THOUGH majority of the shots werent landing. and do you know why he won the rounds? because the judges are only human and the visual effort of oscar and the crowd reactions played into it...especially when floyd would grasp on immediately (whenever he thought he was losing the exchange in the judges eyes) to de la hoya and wait to be separated.
floyd wanted to fight like the taller and longer armed man that night...oscar wanted to be inside and it wasnt too hard for oscar to get inside (considering when de la hoya came forward majority of the time floyd would allow him to) and he won those rounds;.
and if floyd was winning rounds by jabing and leaning on the ropes (jabs that werent landing too much) and oscar was using mayweathers arms as a punching bag (ie. punches that werent landing much either) then who wins the rounds when both miss...exactly...think about it.
and i personally dont care HOW smart of a fighter you are there is always that one time where the other guy outsmarts you. plain and simple...history is a great lesson of that...ali's famous "rope-a-dope" tells you that right away...foreman thought he was smart with endless punches and winning rounds but then right there at the end BOOM down he goes and ali wins.
mayweather will eventually lose (unless he "retires"...at 30 btw...come on).
Hatton has a great chance.
and if hatton cant do it there will be someone who will...weather it be cotto, williams, mosely, cotto, or whoever. mayweather will lose.
its inevitable.
if he decides to go up to middleweight again he might have his hands full with taylor...who likes to fight smart (most of the time) as well...
either way mayweather will get beat...and i promise i will be watching that fight.
as for the de la hoya/mayweather fight goes you can make a great arguement for each fighter (it truely was that close) it just so happens i believe strongly that oscar de la hoya did enough to retain his title. i dont see mayweather doing enough or being elusive enough or smarter than de la hoya was in that fight.
its just my opinion.
i respect you views though.
I will tell you this, with all due respect, if you think oscar won that fight you are either blind or have catarax. If not you are biased. There is no way you can find 7 rounds that oscar could have won in that fight. We can watch the fight via the tube or any other and I will score it round as round just as you will and I guarantee you I can show you the reason dlh had no cahnce of winning that fight. Basing you argument on the judges, lmao. Judges are not always credible and the judge scoring the fight for oscar is a prime example of that. Oh yeh, even though you can't wait to watch floyd lose which you say is "inevitable" you better make sure you watch plenty of his wins before than.
Yeah...Maybe against Paul Williams. I see Paul Williams giving PBF problems thats the only WW I think has a chance aginst PBF.
maybe. I'd still like to see how he does against another good caliber fighter before i start thinking about his chances against PBF.
i'd like floyd better if a few things happened:
1. he didnt talk trash without backing it up...or at least SHOWING that he's TRYING to back it up (ie. how he said he was going to stop oscar and it would be a massacre/one sided fight) if he at least SHOWED he was trying to knockout de la hoya by coming forward or using combinations i wouldnt be mad if he didnt because he was at least trying and thats all you can ask...but he talks trash and never follows through. i dont like that...if a fighter backs it up (or trys to) then im satisfied with the trash talking.
2. if he was a bit of a nicer guy. he's not very likeable guy and acts very immature at the wrong times; seems way too cocky and invincible when we all know there is no such thing as an invincible fighter...they all have at least one flaw since they are human...not machines.
if those 2 things happened i'd like him a lot more as a fighter.
Ricky Hatton v. floyd mayweather jr.
that fight gives floyd some good advantages such as:
1. level of competition (floyd has fought the better list of fighters in my opinion like corrales, de la hoya, castillo, gatti, etc.)
2. level of experience (floyd has been in the game longer and has lasted pretty well and shown some toughness in his career...unlike hatton who was hurt by juan urango...)
ricky is NATURALLY the bigger man starting his career at 140 while floyd started weighing much less so hatton has the natural size advantage.
floyd has the speed BUT i havent seen it too much of a factor recently (like when he fought de la hoya and judah...he didnt seem to really give them too much trouble with speed).
hatton is younger than floyd and (in my opinion) much more fresh so hatton wont tire as easily as de la hoya did or judah.
hatton is a pretty good boxing technician. his combos are always tight and well executed. his hands are fast and he has a good chin.
floyd's chin (in my opinion) isnt as strong as hattons and so i believe hatton will NOT be knocked out by mayweather...it will go the distance.
hatton is a great body puncher (ie. look at what he did to castillo in their fight...beautiful body punch) and that will be something floyd has to watch for because one good body punch and he might not be able to get back up.
hatton should pressure/swarm mayweather because as of recent (against judah and de la hoya) mayweather didnt respond too well to pressure...
zab backed mayweather a lot in the first half of their fight and was winning the rounds by pressuring him...oscar was winning the rounds when he was pressuring mayweather by backing him up and making him uncomfortable in those rounds.
for hatton to win this fight he's going to have to press the fight and swarm mayweather...back him up...use his jab...get inside on mayweather and go to work on the body and then go up to the chin.
look for hatton to go with a faint lead right and then drop a big left hook to the body to hurt mayweather and slow him down.
IF (and it seems to be a pretty big if) hatton can punish mayweather to the body he can slow him down and attempt to pick him apart in the late rounds of the fight (rounds 8-12).
for mayweather to win this fight he's going to have to fight a defensive fight and keep hatton on the outside and use his speed and boxing skills to keep hatton away...then time hatton coming in...slip the jab...and counter with a right.
look for mayweather to attempt to control the pace of the fight and dance around hatton all night and be the slicky elusive fighter he is capable of being.
and look for him to frustrate hatton to the point he makes a mistake and look for floyd to make him pay.
as far as who wins...
all i can say is my heart goes with hatton (because as i said before i dont want mayweather hurt...but i want to see him lose at least once to maybe change his attitude...and his first loss might do just that)
i say mayweather will win if he fights the type of fight taylor wants to fight against pavlik...and this is stay on the outside...use the jab to keep him away...time him coming in...make him miss...make him pay...if he can do this all night then its an easy win for mayweather.
i think hatton can win if he can go to the body early and often to slow mayweather down (take away some of that speed) then as he breaks him down continue to go to the body...get him backing up into the ropes and let those beautiful combinations go and pressure/punish mayweather the rest of the fight and we can see a hatton victory.
i cant say with certainty which way it will go...even if mayweather shuts out hatton up until the last round hatton still has a chance because he's puncher and the beautiful thing about boxing is one punch can change the whole fight.
so its a toss up (if i was actually going to pick the winner for sure).
it should be entertaining none the less (regardless of what some critics are saying)
I agree with some except the following
Mayweather was the one putting the pressure on in the Judah fight.
It's not pressure that gave "problems" to Mayweather when he fought Oscar, it was Oscar's jab.
Mayweather will not be able to stay on the outside against Hatton, that's what makes hte fight interesting. Mayweather will have to fight.

Great post...
Dude knows his stuff.
I'm pulling for Floyd.
Ian
I don't hate Mayweather. I don't wish Harm upon the man either.
I just want the man to prove the bullshit he is shoveling all over the place.
He beats Hatton- Then i conceed the fact that he is legit. Until then he is a beligerant little biotch with a big mouth and a bad sense of fashion!!!
