I have seen a lot of his fights and when he gets hit to the body he doesn't really seem to be bothered. Just wondering. I'm looking to hear from the Mayweather experts here. I don't think Hatton packs enough power to wear down Floyd to the body.
oh you're going off of stats??
i was going off of the boxing fights ive personally watched and the body work ive seen the boxers do
Give us some examples to justify your opinion then.
The only guys on your list even worth debate would be Duran and McCallum and I may even agree with you on The Bodysnatcher in a way.
RJJ is on there based on 1 fight, I presume.
Floyd? The reason's pretty clear why you've got him on there. You should really do a poll on that one:lol1:
The others are all great body punchers but there is no evidence visually or statistically that they are as devastating to the body as Hatton. If you can point me in the direction of some fights that say differently then please do.
Castillo definately quit...because Ricky would of floored his ass anyway. JLC realized that he couldn't win so he found an out by staying down so he can fight (and make more money to get out of debt) another day.
:pat: :pat: :pat:
Stats don't lie, my friend. Nobody on that list has anywhere near the number of body shot KOs and KDs that Hatton has.

Name some..
A good percentage of Hatton's knockouts come from body punches..
I don't see a lot of body punchers breaking numerous ribs..

From what I've seen, he's in too good of shape. However, he's gotten older (like everyone has) and Hatton and Cotto could give him problems in this department. So, only time we'll tell. I'll get back to you on December 9th.
IN MY OPINION,
Ricky lacks the complete skills package possessed by the other top fighters: Mosley, Delahoya, mayweather, hopkins, etc.
TO ME, Ricky is substantially less skilled than those guys. Ricky dominated a bunch of nobodies, or old fighters.
Mayweather will be THE FIRST prime, elite fighter that Ricky has faced. Yes, I am saying that Kostya Tszyu was faded. Zoo was a couple months shy of his 36th birthday - pretty olf for a LW. And he had been VERY inactive. And no knowledgeable person will dispute that Castillo was shot, after seeing how he looked as early as round 1.
If I am wrong, and Hatton HAS beaten an elite, prime fighter, then please tell me who that was and I will eat my words.
Based on what YOU said,
an ALMOST 36 year old, VERY inactive Kostya Tszyu knocked out Sharmba Mitchell in 3 rounds. knocking him down 4 times.
Floyd Mayweather took DOUBLE the time, 6 rounds to beat a SHOT Mitchell.
Tony Pep went 10 rounds with Mayweather. ONLY 4 fights later(which he won) Hatton was the 2nd person to KNOCK HIM OUT.
Tony Pep had been knocked out last, in 1988 by Tony Lopez who was 28-1 at the time. and went on to become,
IBF super featherweight champ
WBA lightweight champ
13 years and he SICKENS PEP
1) Is Mayweather still a lightweight? Isn't this 2007 model a bigger, stronger version of Mayweather?
2) If Chavez suffered no damage, why did his corner throw in the towel? Help me here.
ignore my posts dick face,... "peeleft:

ignore my post, asshole.
TRUTH HURTS DOESN'T IT?
Mayweather fought his first fight at Welter against Mitchell(who was no champ)
Hatton fights his first fight at Welter against Collazo (WBA champ)
Ricky Hatton's the most destructive body puncher we've seen, Mayweather would have to have some severe physical problem to not feel them if they land (and are thrown right)
you serious?
hatton the most destructive body puncher we've seen??
maybe the most you've seen but not me
he's a good body puncher but ive seen better body punchers then hatton

Right and you're entitled to that opinion.
I just don't understand. Because Floyd beat an out of his prime Oscar, a blown up, washed up Mitchell with a bum knee, a judah that was exposed by Tszyu, and was lucky to receive wins over Castillo.
His two notable career performances outside those were against a tailor made fighter in Corrales with zero defense, and a cab driver from Agentina.
Let's not forget about all the other complete mismatches like Bruseles, Ndou, etc who were nowhere near elite fighters.

AGREEEEEEE great point. Atleast some here makes sense rather then hearing that hatton body punch that landed on JLC is gonna K.O PBF. When DLH body punches weren't affecting PBF.
Dave,
I'm giving you the option to stop. And reverse. The choice is yours.
I'm here to talk boxing. Period.
TWAT,
I'm also giving you the option to stop. And reverse. The choice is yours.
I'm not here to listen to constant Floyd is God and discredit Hatton posts. Period.
Dave Brown,
You seem to like it here. Are you trying to get banned?
Cut out the nonsense.

PBF got hurt against Castillo
floyd focuses on keeping his whole abdomen and around teh back muscles tight and strong where as others only bother with the front part of their stomach.
Corley was quoted as saying Floyd had the most intense stomach workout he's ever seen.
I would absolutely give Ricky credit for beating a fresher Castillo. But the reality is that Castillo looked shot out of a cannon. He was slow, stiff and sluggish. We all saw that. The commentary team saw it. Every boxing writer saw it. That was a shell of the Castillo that fought PBF. Do you disagree?
We can't ignore WHEN you beat another fighter. Are you giving Bojorquez credit for beating Pernell?
castillo was just at the top of the lightweight division when he knocked out corrales in 4. you make it seem like its been years since he won a big fight when thats clearly not the case.
Also, Castillo had never been 702 years old before.
why cant you just give him credit? mayweather never even made castillo flinch in two fights and hatton had him screaming in agony with broken ribs.
God it would be awesome if Ricky made the fight dirty like he did against Tszyu, and hit Floyd low........and roughed him up slowing him down and landing punches, ultimately winning the decision.
That would be priceless to see Floyd fucking lose a fight. His nuthugger fans shutting the hell up, and Floyd making excuses.
Well yea, if Ricky had to make it dirty fight, by holding and hitting, elbowing, hitting low then yea i would have a problem with that and prob say if he didnt do that then floyd would win
