RICKY HATTON flew back from holiday to officially sign a deal worth at least £5million to fight American Floyd Mayweather.
The light-welterweight king faces fellow unbeaten boxer Mayweather on December 8 in one of the biggest clashes of all time involving a Brit.
And Ray Hatton, Ricky’s dad and manager, insists the bout will be a classic.
He said: “Mayweather is regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and is probably Ricky’s worst nightmare with his hand speed.
“But Ricky is also Mayweather’s worst nightmare because of the relentless pressure he brings to every fight.
“Mayweather recently retired but we have managed to tempt him out of it after just three months.
“Ricky didn’t want him off the scene for a year and then have an excuse that he was rusty.
“He wanted to fight the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world at his peak.”
Fight legend Oscar De La Hoya will promote the bout through his company Golden Boy Promotions.
And venues in LA and Las Vegas are already in a bidding war to host the welterweight showdown.
Guaranteed $10m+. Not too shabby.
He grew up in grand rapids. he lives in Vegas. Which makes it his hometown
I don't consider it his hometown, just as I don't consider Puerto Rico to be Oscar De La Hoya's hometown. Oscar's hometown will always be LA, as far as I'm concerned, with a close second being Las Vegas.
The fight will be in Mayweather's hometown but Hatton may be the crowd favorite. If 10k flew over for JLC, how many will try to get here for Hatton's biggest fight ever, and perhaps Britain's biggest fight ever?
Mayweather's home town is not Las Vegas, it's Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Those odds seem a bit low. I'd expect something like:
Mayweather -1250
Draw +2100
Hatton +950

I think atleast 15-20k will want to travel to vegas to watch the fight, Maybe even more
They should hype it just as much. Ricky gonna have a solid fanbase travel for him. It's in Vegas right? I'll give credit to Hatton for taking the fight. It's a big challenge to face pound for pound number one. Hopefully he didn't put on a lot of weight because Mayweather is constantly in shape.

Mayweather - 2/5
Draw - 20/1
Hatton - 9/5
Those odds are absolutely MASSIVE on Floyd. He's even shorter than the price he was to beat Oscar.

I hope it is being signed. But i dont trust ANYTHING from The Sun. The amount of lies and bullshit in that paper is a joke
They're usually pretty good on the sport. Floyd still has to sign on the dotted line too so I guess it's not quite guaranteed. Seems like the terms are at least officially agreed.
It's a story from this morning's paper so they're probably signing it as we speak.

Hatton is guaranteed $10MM and Mayweather is guaranteed $16MM?
BTW, Do you think HBO does another 24/7 type buildup?
I haven't seen any reports on Floyd's cut. You're probably not far off I would guess.
I don't know if they'll market it quite as intensively as that because Hatton's not Oscar. It will be heavily promoted though.
