mayweather-hatton has only just been made official and mayweather fans are already playing down the impact this fight will have on both fighters legacys.
since ive been on these forums floyd fans have been screaming till there blue in the face for respect and recognision of a minority of posters. ricky hatton is undefeated in hes prime and the only person that i can remember that floyd is fighting who at this moment in time is considered by 95% of the boxing world a top level p4p fighter. are you that blind off hate towards ricky hatton or the badge on the front off hes passport that this is the fight to cement hes legacy.
also ricky does have a chance to win this fight stop predicting this easy victory because there is nothing to suggest this is going to be easy for both fighters styles makes fights.
floyd fans give ricky a chance even if deep down your predicting this easy fight because if it goes as planned you can ride the train off succes for all its worth
y'all all talking now
but when hatton stops mayweather than it will be a different story
if it goes the distance i think score cards will be for floyd
but i think hatton needs a ko
.
Emp -without the childish insults - what advantages do you think Hatton brings into a Mayweather fight?
power, a great chin a big heart and an even bigger set of balls

1. Floyd has a legacy already, anything else just strengthens it
2. Hatton is not on Floyd's level IMO but this won't be the Gatti fight except Hatton may get cut if Floyd wants to do damage
3.Calm down, your doing what a fan would do defend the boxer he likes as I do with Floyd
There is NO WAY that Guinness has 1000 calories in a pint. It's not Crisco.
Guinness - like most beers/ales - has about 250 calories per pint. About the same as whole milk or orange juice.
Don't get crazy.
No I never said that Guinness has 1000 calories a pint, I ignored that as a bizarre overstatement. I was surprised that anyone would consider 6-8 pints to be some sort of legendary amount. I'm pretty sure that off-training Hatton could outdrink me with little trouble, and I'm 6' tall and 190lbs in my knickers, and I could drink 6-8 pints fairly easily.
Emp -without the childish insults - what advantages do you think Hatton brings into a Mayweather fight?
I can answer that: Hatton is a natural swarming brawler. I think he can neutralize Mayweather's uncanny countering ability by throwing a lot of punches and can thereby overwhelm Floyd and begin to wear him down. I think that Floyd was unbeatable at Super Featherweight and at Lightweight, but since he hit 140 lbs he has slowed slightly and is susceptible to being overwhelmed.
The trouble is that since moving to 140+ he has generally fought guys who don't throw that much, who default as boxers and not as volume punchers. Floyd is so good a boxer that he can put the cleverest opponent off their gameplan with counters, and when a boxer is put off his plan he always falls back on his natural style. The best guy Floyd has faced since moving above 10st is De La Hoya without a doubt. De La Hoya did an able impersonation of a volume puncher, but eventually was put off his plan and resorted to boxer-puncher Oscar. Boxing is Floyd's domain and he rules it.
Hatton can box, we've seen that. He can punch too, he's had some one-punch finishes. But when he's exhausted and hurt and he's put off his game like he was against Collazo he defaults to throwing a lot of punches and relies on heart and toughness to pull out the win.
Mayweather looks the least comfortable when he's being pressured and swarmed, when he can't potshot because every punch he throws he has four coming back at him. Hatton will begin roughing him up from the opening bell and if Ricky gets hurt he'll just get more and more rough and throw more and more punches.
That's why Hatton has a chance at beating Mayweather perhaps more than any other fighter currently active.
It's just my opinion but I stand by my feeling that the shape of the fight will be far closer to Mayweather vs Chavez than Mayweather vs Gatti.
PS Dios, I like your posts.
haha full english breakfast is the nicest meal ever known but its basically pure fat lol, Hatton drinks Guiness which is 1000 Calories per pint, im sure he can get thru 6-8 of those!
Are you kidding? 6-8 pints? That's seriously nothing. I reckon Hatton can breeze through considerably more guinnes than that in a sitting.

i heard 12 lol
wtf! and you fry it and eat it for breakfast, no wonder Hatton has weight problems if he guzzles that shit down.
yah we fry that shit and eat it but it tastes nice honestly , tastes like pepper
Wait: aren't Witter and Hatton the SAME weight? The Dominican God doesn't subscribe to that "multiple world champions" thing.
Hatton is the champion at 140. No doubt. Witter is just a belt-holder.
but still we have 2 major belt holders at 140 in rees and witter and the lightly regarded ibo but the same person holds the highest trinket at the wieght in the ring title
black pudding is pig fat soacked in blood i think sounds horible but is nice :D

Corley stunned him, no way around that. Castillo never really hurt him, he hit him with hard body punches, but never did Floyd drop his guard or stumble or anything like that. The Judah 4th round shot was very good, and made Floyd's head go back, but he blocked the next 7 punches, meaning he couldn't have been hurt that bad. I think Corley is the only person who ever hurt Mayweather, which is fucking absurd considering who Mayweather has faced, and Corley was the one to do it.
corley was the only person i cud think off too :D
Mayweather was hurt by Chop Chop, Castillo & Judah.

Is it my fault British boxing is such a joke? Most overprotected fighters in the world...
just a matter of opinion they might be over protected but they aint many callers to fight our best in calzaghe and hatton just rumours of offered fights or reach outs
If your proud of your fighter winning a controversial decision over a fringe contender, promising the guy a rematch, and then instead going back on his word and leaving the division entirely out of fear of what the top welterweights would do to him, good for you...
yah i am proud of because he went back to 140 beat a undefeated person who was maybe luckily enough to be a titlist then wsa the first person to knockdown and ultimatly knock out jose luis castillo then agrea to fight the p4p#1 fighter in the sport today in floyd mayweather.

There are overprotected fighters all over the world, not least in the US. The difference is that you've heard of some of the minor US prospects and journeymen so you assume they are better than the minor prospects and journeymen that foreign fighters face.
