im reading thru some threads
and i see random people say "calzaghe would tko hopkins"
and "hopkins cant handle calzaghe's speed"
wtf has calzaghe done to convince yall that he would stand a chance against b-hop??
cal has fought mostly bums his whole career and now all the sudden he can ko hopkins?
explain
Calz is known for beating Lacey.. Who the fuck is lacey? In turn, who the fuck is Joe Smoe Calzaghe? Hopkins would beat him easier than he did Tarver.. I have no idea why he would even want the fight..
I like Calzaghe - but that's something that needs to be said much more often.

I would drop a mill on Hopkins. I really hope this fight happens.
Basically, Calzaghe invoked the excuse that he wants to make Bernard wait because he feels Hopkins has fucked him off or some shit..
The truth is Calzaghe saw the Wright fight.
Eubank is 1000 times better than Hopkins. Hopkins would get tagged untill he loses to a UD. Hopkins would run the whole fight. :bottle:
What is it with u and dios dominicano??? Not starting anything but just askin
Everybody is on Joe's dick right now. How is he gonna let his hands go when Bernard is grabbing and bashing him up on the inside? Hopkins is a master of using his opponents strengths against them while exposing their weaknesses. He would freeze Calzaghe up and wear him down.
HOPKINS by UD.
Bernard looked slugish with winky and calzaghe is not really showing signs that he is past his prime. I dont think he will tko hopkins but i think he will beat him in a unanimous decision.

you're a loser
sending me gay private messages
get a life scum bag
so yall telling me the same guy that recently beat winky wright would not be able to beat joe calzaghe????
do you guys actually know about boxing??
this has nothing to do with who is your personal favorite or anything but do you actually understand boxing??
Prime for Prime, Hopkins could stop, but would COMPLETELY beat Calzaghe.
If Hopkins hadn't walked away from the agreement we would have found out.
I can only see a Calzaghe UD for this. Hopkins will have his moments - his right alone will give Calzaghe bigger problems than anyone else ever has but Calzaghe will simply be too busy. Lets not forget that Hopkins will probably be the smaller man here as well.
I think Hopkins would win by a decision, but neither man would get knocked out. It would be worthwhile to see whether it was in Yankee Stadium or in Whales. This makes me long for the days of Ali. He would meet Calzaghe in Europe without hesitation. No wonder he is the G.O.A.T.
They were only called bums after Joe beat them all....and there was a very similar title to a thread a ways back " Do you all seriously think Calzaghe will beat Lacy ? "...nuff said...Joe beats him any time ANY age:banana:

yes yes yes i think calzaghe would win , b-hop cant fight a whole three minutes of a round , and cal has still got it , at least a lil bit , i dont think hed stand for the bullsh*t that winky did but thats just me ,its close enough that hop could still pull it off
I don't think anyone in this fight is stopped.. Joe stands a chance if BHop really did slip to the level he LOOKED against Wright. But, I think it's just the way Wright makes people look. And even if Hopkins did slip, I think that Hopkins still stands a chance. Either way, I'd pick Hopkins. Too cagey a fighter.
He won't stop Hopkins but he'll outwork and out manoeuvre him over the full 12 to get a decision. Of course he has to get past Kessler first.
outmanuever? naw. outwork? yes. outmanuever? naw. Hopkins is the steven segal of boxing. he can beat you up and box circles around you and he didint move around much.

wtf? in what dimension is eubanks 1000 times better than hopkins or even a lil better? oh nevermind that dimension is called europe.
Taylor beat Hopkins, for Christ's sake, and he's got half the handspeed and a 10th of the workrate of Calzaghe, not to mention a fraction of the experience. Hopkins would make a good effort of it, but I don't think he'd be the magic bullet for Calzaghe.
Beating Winky Wright doesn't make Hopkins the new Mr. Invincible.
Calzaghe wouldn't allow him to get by with the rough stuff inside without getting just as bad in return, and he's too quick for Hopkins to fuck around with up close anyway. Hopkins had the tools and the smarts to beat Winky Wright, and while he might have the smarts to put up a decent effort against Calzaghe, he just ain't got the tools for the win. I'd predict an easy lopsided decision win for Calzaghe, with Hopkins claiming "I really won the fight, everybody knows it but the judges", when in reality he will have ran constantly and barely worked enough to win more than a few rounds. Then he'll try to get a rematch, claiming he'll KO Calzaghe next time, so the judges can't screw him, and still end up losing a decision, in a replay of the first fight.
He'd try the same tricks he used against Eastman, but it wouldn't work well against Calzaghe.
