I can't believe this guy is still crying about Hopkins being a dirty fighter. OF COURSE HE'S A DIRTY FIGHTER. You knew that coming in, yet you didn't have anything to counter it with. Basically, that's Wright admitting he was there for the money, going in with an excuse in case he lost. Everybody on earth already knew Hopkins was going to headbutt, hold and hit, low blow, do whatever he had to because that's what he's always done. Didn't seem to bother Taylor, who got nailed with a huge headbutt to the jaw, yet still held on to win the fight.
I've never seen a fighter so unable to admit he lost or even that a fight was close. He acts like he got robbed everytime. A robbery is when you win 8 rounds clearly and they give it to the other guy. Wright didn't win 6 clearly against Taylor or Vargas, yet he throws his head back and acts like it's a crime when he doesn't get his hand raised. I'm so sick of this guy's whining. It's so messed up if he really thinks he clearly won any of those fights.
Yes, please hit me with the red karma. The best posters are completely red anyway for arguing with that queer Anorak and his gay ass liberal friends.
Now stop crying and admit you idolize a crybaby.
you just love to make me smile...
Diego STFU!!!! your a HATER plain and simple, and the above summed up your complete bullshit

lol Man shut the fuck up. I dont know why but when I do read your post's its these same "crybaby" or some other type of lame post about some fighter.
Wright, was just recently a fighter that succesfully disposed of some of the biggest names, not to mention he just came off a great performance against Taylor. He looked better against Taylor then Hopkins did. This dude has earned the right to vent, especially after this past fight. It was a fuckin sloppy ugly fight and it was Hopkins' fault/strategy. Hopkins still won, but jesus christ, lol SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Wright is no where NEAR being able to be labled as a crybaby.

If I lost a fight with Hopkins because I was wore out from all the holding and headbutting, then I don't think I would be saying "oh well... I lost and Hopkins did a good job headbutting me. I didn't do enough to dodge his skull since I should have expected it.".
Wright has a RIGHT to bitch about dirty tactics, just as every single other person that Hops has fought.
And yes, he does have the personality to complain after his close fights...
fucking great post its almost like people are too stupid to get this....
Much as I hate to I agree with the topic starter. Winky does complain more than any other current fighter, and his reaction to the Taylor result was pathetic. Wright didn't do enough, he only has himself to blame for losing against Taylor. Taylor could do nothing to stop Winky from doing what he wanted, but Winky took every second round off.
you need to watch some more boxing man, winky won 9 rounds and at least 7 clear as fuck...
I've been a Wright fan for a long time (and apparently one of the few), but I have to disagree with your assessment. Wright seems to do just enough to wind up in a situation where he gets to bitch about things not going his way. His problem is that he's too much of an idealist - I know, because I'm the same way at my job! LOL... but my point is that he expects everything to be one way, and for everyone to see things through his eyes. He's been on the short end enough to know that such is not the case, yet he refuses to change up.
I thought the ref should've docked points from Hopkins, not necessarily because bernard was blatantly dirty, but because the ref kept warning... and warning... and warning without ever acting. But it got to a point, and fairly early in the fight, where Wright was looking for help from the ref rather than taking matters into his own hands.
When has he ever been screwed by the judges? He didn't beat Taylor and he didn't beat Vargas. Those were close fights that could have gone either way, but I didn't score either for Winky.
haha you know what this is like?
It's like someone falling in love with a mean slut, and then whining when they get their heat broken. Jackasses..........you knew what would happen.
Nard is a dirty mother fucker, he is who he is.
Exactly. All week Winky was saying Nard was dirty and all, trying to get him to fight clean. Well, it didn't work, and you lost.
If Winky didn't think he could beat a dirty Nard, then why even fight? Oh wait, Winkster does it for the money.

Jake, I agree re: the point deduction. That was absurd. And I might add that if you moved up ten pounds to fight the world lhw champ, took the fight to himf romt he opening bell only to see the kind of score margins we witnessed on Saturday night, I'd be pretty pissed too.
Furthermore, Wright didn't whine at all. In fact, he was very respectful. He said he felt he wont he fight (certainly not something ridiculous in light of those impossible to score rounds) and also added that he thought the fight was very close. He was also very gracious regarding the headbutt. What's people's problem?
Wright is a veteran who knows about having to do enough to win. Hell, just last year he was told he didn't do enough. He knew he lost to Hopkins right after that final bell.
Toney, on the other hand, has been legitimately screwed against Griffin twice. Saying he thought he beat Sam Peter the second time was insanity, but I'm sure he doesn't still think that. Wright has a sorry history of complaining about close fights.

Winky fought Hopkins' fight for 12 full rounds... he didn't do anything to change that. Where was the sense of urgency when his eye was cut? Big mistake, and it cost him.
Hopkins and Wright both looked like crap and it was a boring fight for the fans... there were no winners here.

Instead of trying to adapt, he chose to cry. That's a terrific fighter right there.
But seriously, I'm not going to say Wright isn't one of the best pound for pound. He certainly is, but real fighters know when to admit a fight was close, and he never admits it. Everything is a robbery with him.
Why not be like Mayweather and win all your fights convincingly so you don't have to worry about getting screwed (although he almost did against DLH)?
Yeah but whoever really admits they lost Toney never did it. That's just how some guys are. You know this I'm sure you've watched boxing for years. Hell Darchinian didn't think he lost and he got knocked the fuck out.

It's amazing how much hate Winky is catching after one loss. He was moreso complaining about the head butts. And the holding was pretty bad too. But I gotta admit Winky held in the later rounds after he was fatigued. But Winky let B-Hop take him out of his game. And I wouldn't say Wright is a crybaby. Most of the time he is calm in the ring and respectful of his opponents. There have been plenty of times when he has colided with other and then extends his hand out as sportsman ship. I just think this fight was just too frustrating for him becuase he couldn't do what he wanted.
Hopkins has held and hit every single fight of his career. He also headbutts every fight. You can't tell me Winky didn't expect that because he even called Hopkins a dirty fighter beforehand.
That's like fighting Manny Pacquiao and not expecting him to throw a straight left hand. Winky is a bitch, plain and simple.
