Should Bernard of had points deducted for his dirty tactics?

i noticed most of you whining are Winky fans. this is boxing fights get rough, people get hurt. Hopkins was making it a rough fight but Winky did his share of holding and using his melon as he has in the past, as many many boxers do. from light heavy on up things are far more physical than the lighter weights. Hopkins did nothing wrong.

Ummm It's a controled fight.. But It's still a fight.. and people fight to win.. I dont see anything wrong with Nard.. I know he is dirty... Everybody has a Trick or 2 up their sleeve.. It happens in other individual and TEAM sports as well.. As long as the cheating is NOT performance enhancing DRUGS!!!! It's Not cheating... It's bending the rules.. We are ALL Guilty of that... Unless you have never crossed a street except at the cross walk..:rolleyes: STOP being pussies.. So its alright to elbow as long as you get away with it? In that case they should be kicking nads, biting and doing everything to get an advantage.

spineless ref, did'nt have the won tons to take points head but was delib, and he constantly tried to open the cut up.

The only way Hopkins could beat Wright was to resort to dirty tactics, and so he did. The referee did a poor job, he let Hopkins get away with far too much. There should have been points deducted several times. You know that's what happen's when your fighting is being promoted by Golden Girl promotions....They give there man the edge...I wonder how much the ref was paid to throw that fightin in hopkins favor.

No he shouldn't have any points deducted, they were unintentional. The greatest trainers in the sport tell you to keep your head down when they come inside. If they get there dome split open tough shit, stay away.

i say yes, not in comparison to other fights and saying that it was excessive. But yes because the referee warned him at least 5 times - you're supposed to give two warnings and then deduct points, not just keep wagging your index finger all night. As I said to someone else earlier, the deduction wouldn't have mattered on the card, but it MIGHT have changed the tempo of the fight. All that said, from the headbutt on, Wink fought like a guy who was looking for something to bitch about rather than someone who wanted to adjust and do something about it. He was going to lose regardless, and I say this as a longtime Wink fan, and someone who picked him to win by a considerable margin in reality but get screwed on one card. He did none of that, and while it's tough to say that Bernard DESERVED the win, he was a lot more effective in his gameplan than Wink was with his, and that's why he won.

I don't mind the tactics, but a point deduction was in order.

Bernard is a smart fighter.Thats why I put my money on him. He knows alot of tricks and different ways to win.

he shouldve got 2 points deducted from the headbutt that opened wrights cut according to the rules because it was intentional as fuck....and like 4 more for headbutting every 20 seconds.....

No they shouldn't have, because fat-ass whinging Wright was moaning every chance he got. They should have took points from Wright for moaning. He was just as bad at holding on as Bernard, and then when the ref goes to break them he fucking moans, as if trying to get Bernard in trouble.

I think if it would have been any other fighter other then 'Nard they would of had a point or two deducted..
