I'd also like tp put some points on Mayorga, but I don't think anyone is interested. Yeah I've noticed as the fight gets closer, the people who were picking Vargas early on seem to have vanished off the board mysteriously...............

I'm putting 5K on Mayorga to defeat Vargas. I look for vargas to retire by year's end as well. Any takers?

In my opinion he beat cory spinks. But to say Vargas is a better boxer than Shane Mosley and De La Hoya who Knocked him out is crazy. That's so true, I don't even think you should compare Vargas, an obvious brawler, with a skilled fighter like Mosley or DLH.

Overall Mayorga is an exciting fighter, and it's going to be a good fight. If it does turn into a brawl, than Vargas is in trouble, because obviously what Mayorga lacks in boxing skills he makes up for with power and heart. Though he did have rough times with DLH and Trinidad, in between those fights he has scored a victory over Michele Piccirillo and did so in lopsided fashion. I'm not comparing Piccirillo to DLH or Tito in no way, only pointing out that he isn't in a slump, just was outboxed in 2 out of his 3 last fights.

I just wanna see the reactions in the fight you can almost tell there will be alot.

Keep in mind they have both lost to the same Legends of thier era. And people keep tryin to throw the Vargas has better "boxing skills". Do u think Vargas has better boxing skills than Cory Spinks or prime a V. Forrest? I dont and look what mayorga did to them. i know a guy who fought vargas in the olympic trails and he said he was a excellent boxer. also years ago ishe smith was asked a question who was the best boxer. vargas, shane, oscar. and he said vargas. but when the bright lights come on he throws it out the window and just brawls with his opponents. and in my opinion he lost to vernon in the second fight. and cory spinks beat him by the way

Im not sure who to pick in this one, I think Mayorga is going to come in better shape than Vargas is. If Vargas boxes he can beat Mayorga, if he tries to just brawl then he gives Mayorga a chance..but they are both damaged goods right now, I think Mayorga is a little more Damaged than Vargas since Mayorga took a huge beating in the Tito fight then got his clock cleaned in the DLH fight, clearly wasnt the same Mayorga that beat Forrest and 6 heads.

I'm with Brooklyn on this. El Feroz isnt a "shot fighter" like people think. Personally, I feel its gonna end in a KO on Retardo Mayorga. I don't agree, although Mayorga was embarassed early against DLH, he is not a bad fighter. Many people remember losses to DLH and Trinidad and seem to forget all the wins he has against big names, like Forrest and Lewis. I think this will end in victory for Mayorga.
