Pavlik has had exciting fights this year the one v.s Zertuche was good too as well as the Miranda fight, both exciting.....

katsidis-amonsot was an awsome fight & it was even better cause im an aussie! cotto - judah was good aswell

I was at Cotto-Judah at the Garden and watched Katsidis-Amonsot last night. Katsidis-Amonsot was a WAY BETTER fight, that's all I have to say.

cotto and judah was crazy...even more when cotto made judah kneel ufff.

Cotto and Judah was bad ass. Cotto made judah kneel on his knees, which showed he wanted out(a break from it all) cotto judah was basically one sided mormeck bell was bad ass nonstop action from towo good fighters

mormeck vs bell II was best then Katsidis amonsot then marquez vasquez then margarito williams then cotto judah then pavlik miranda

Vazquez-Marquez was my favorite, although the ending was anticlimatic

see i don't get where this is a valid claim. If people bitch that they didn't get to watch it, then they lose the right to complain about quality boxing being available on free/regional TV. The fight was on MSG network and carried by just about every FoxSports affiliate. It was there to be seen by anyone with a basic digital cable/satellite package. Mormeck-Bell II, Marquez-Vazquez I, Sakata-Vasquez II and Katsidis' two fights this year (Earl and last night v. Amonsot). Any of those five are a valid pick - I don't necessarily think any were that far superior to the other, nor do I believe that we've yet seen the 2007 Fight of the Year. Right and it's fine to pick another fight even though I don't think there has been a fight this year that's even close to the compelling action in Bell/Mormeck II. But when someone clearly states they haven't seen it..........yet make definitive statements about how another fight is easily FOTY I just think they're total morons. I've seen every fight on that list, and that gives me the right to make a choice. If someone hasn't seen them, they need to shut the fuck up. Especially HBO fanboys who only watch Home Box Office. Pavlik/Miranda was exciting until Pavlik dominated, and Vasquez/Marquez would have been my distant second pick. was Katsidis-Amonsot better than the Fight opf the year of 2006 ? hell no, nothing from this year tops that fight or Corrales-Castillo I. But that said, I don't think anything will - it's pretty damn high standards. To add to this discussion some more: I've previously commented on Cotto-Judah, so no need to revisit. But Williams-Margarito - it was a good fight, but I'm not even sure it was a GREAT fight, never mind a FOTY-type fight. In all honestly, I don't think it was any different than say Johnny Tapia-Danny Romero - again, a very good fight, but not the type of fight where after you watch it you say "Damn I just watched the fight of the year." There have been some damn good matchups this year, but if a fight like PWill-Tony or even Cotto-Judah winds up FOTY, then it wasn't a good year for action fights.

Yeah problem is.......too many people haven't watched it. You know what the funniest shit of all time was? Some guy in a different thread stated "I haven't seen Bell/Mormeck II but I can already tell you I'm not going to like it as much as Pavlik/Miranda" That guy needs to quit posting forever. I can't believe the level of outright fucking ignorance on display when it comes to FOTY candidates. If you haven't seen that fight.........you have no fucking business voting in these polls. yes mormeck vs. bell 2 was a hell of a fight. But the first fights between these 2 in 2006 was a lot better, but didn't got as much credit. It has nothing too do with the fight of the year but ,I notices that The french cameramen showed the fight with a lot of weird camera angles. I realised two that for the brewster klitschko fighter the camera was sometimes too fare away and had to some strange angle. I'm french and i look a lot of europeen fights, but the presentation of the fights are not so exiting like on HBO. I love HBO fights.
