M'Baye is fucking TERRIBLE- but what a joke this fight is...

Gavin Rees, yes, Gavin Rees, is out-boxing, out-working and out-hustling M'Baye and is about to take his WBA Light-Welterweight world title on points, barring a godawful, scandalous, outrage-from-high-heaven robbery. Fair shout to the little blighter, but bejeezus doesn't this make a mockery of the sport, watching this. Rees' pitter-patter shoeshining against M'Baye's glockenspiel ribs is going to make him a world champion. What does M'Baye offer in return? Some posturing, the occasional solid right hand, frustrating evasiveness and a reluctance to throw...and that's it. I just can't wait to see Macarinelli, who I know will throw some hurtin' bombs and at least contest his belt. Ok, somehow Rees got a shot (and he is making the most of his chance), but if this sort of fighter (M'Baye) holds a relatively prestigious belt what are we supposed to expect? Or has he just completely changed overnight from a somewhat effective fighter?

Rees emberassed his ass, horrible fight though.. I was so frustrated watching M'Baye because he did nothing, just throw an occasional right hand, there was no jab, no left hook, I don't think he ever landed the left hook and Rees made him fight his fight, and then you see M'Baye trying to make something in the last rounds and still falling in those clinches when he was a huge reach advantage, all he had to do is use some footwork and pump the jab he would've knocked Rees out.. Props to Rees, very good performance. M'Baye deserved it. Yep, no jab, no thought, no effort. Hatton would have torn M'Baye a new asshole.

Well done Gavin Rees. M'baye has mixed in very good company and Rees outfought him. He's now WBA Champion and thoroughly in the mix now.

Kahn vs Rees would be better fight. Rees has won on points UD 113-117 112-117 110-118 Full credit to Rees, he worked his socks off none stop. Might not be power body shot but count how many shots Rees connected with. Mbayer will be feeling sore tommorw.

Rees got a comfortable decision victory. Although I like to see a home fighter score an upset, I have to agree that it is a farce. M'Baye offered nothing. Even in the 12th, he showed little urgency (although Rees was hugging him like a crying kid hugs his mother). Any half decent fighter who fancies landing a World Title will come knocking on Rees' door and most likely knock him out with ease.
