i haven't heard anything in a week is there any new news???
I'm a PBF fan but there is no way the fight shouldn't happen in the U.K.!!!
First the pound/euro is killing the U.S. dollar so there is more money to be made in the U.K. to be made on the the fight. With the lack of taxes PBF would have to pay fighting in the U.K. and how much it is all about the money with him i see no reason the fight should happen soon and in the U.K.
Then the fan base will pay top $$$ to see there boy against the P4P no. 2!!
any news??
As i have said before, its not what WE want to happen, it's what is LIKELY to happen.
This is the way boxing works:
Mayweather doesnt need Hatton, he can fight cotto and mosely in time, better fighters than hatton, money more than Hatton.
Therefore its not mayweather's duty to go out of his way to go down to 140 in england, if hatton wants the fight, its like ellerbe told everyone on british radio, no more talking, 147 pounds , sign the deal he is given.
Example, Mayweather called out de la hoya for years (he acutally wanted to fight it wasnt talk) when mayweather's oppertunity came he did the following
Lets oscar take 2/3's more money than him
Let oscar choose the ring size
Let oscar choose the gloves
Lets Oscar choose the venue
Let oscar choose the date.
If he hadnt of agreed to these terms, there would have been no may 5th fight.
And mayweather won, now he call the shots.
Therefore Hatton must do as he is told if he wants the fight, he cant dictate any terms if he wants the fight, last time he did that and asked for 13 million, you know what happened there.
Thats the way it is, sad but true, if hatton really wants mayweather as much as he claims he does, he'll have no problem doing this in the USA at 147 pounds.
Some very good content within this post.. :fing02: Good stuff.
Fact is Ray Hatton said there would be news sometime in August...so why people are expecting news now in July..is beyond me....chill the f*ck out...if hatton cums out n says he is taking on barbra bush in his next fight..great diss him all u want..but fact is..neither of them has said anything yet..and we have been told not to expect to hear anything about a future fight until august.......so again.....chill!
Either you guys are really impatient...or you just needed to make up a reason to start bashing hatton and PBF
Don't know if anyones said tis already, but Hatton interviewed yesterday..18july/ on radio 2 (national station) in Uk, asked about the up coming fights ..said he has ased his team to go for Mayweather.
seemed very matter of fact about it.
Thats very good, its not the same as saying mayweather is next, but its good,
personally, i still dont think the fight will happen, lets wait and see.

Yeah Baldomir was the lineal welterwight champ.
Mayweather must be good at cherry picking, he picked hatton in 2005 but hatton didnt wanna fight, Arum did wanna let cotto fight him at that stage either.
Didnt Hatton wanna fight gatti? YES
Didnt hatton want a fight with baldomir? YES
Mayweather has fought far better fighter then hatton, he also beat castillo in his prime, not when he was shot and dont say he lost the first one unless you have seen it, if you have seen it, tell us how you scored it.
Hatton talks without backing it up all the time, he said he'd love to fight witter, and then he said he'd never fight him,
He's been saying he wants mayweather next for nearly 3 years.
I know your a fan of him, your welcome to your opinion, but i dont think u being realistic.
Hatton wanted to fight the winner of Baldomir/Gatti and i think that's perfectly reasonable considering he hasn't been proclaiming himself as the pound 4 pound best in the sport.
Mayweather did beat Castillo in his prime, yes, but the man had only just turned 34 when he fought Hatton. Those who say 'he was totally shot' need to watch the fight. He was getting into the fight round 3 onwards - and HBO were awful, stating Castillo was all over the place after just a few seconds? Hatton managed to KO Castillo, Mayweather couldn't.
Regarding Witter, i'm sure Hatton would love to knock him out - but considering he's done nothing but beat a poor Corley - Witter can barely be called a world class fighter and is not credible. Hatton doesn't feel Witter brings enough to the table and that he has only been mentioned in the same breath because of his mouth and his constant running of it. If Witter hadn't talked so much, he wouldn't even be considered. This fight, earlier in his career, would have been good for Hatton - but he's not even a 5th choice fighter for Ricky now.
Once again, i'll say - are you referring to Baldomir as the linear Welterweight champion?
Don't know how i can say Floyd is lying? Of course he's a f*cking liar - he was never going to retire, he did it for the publicity and to help promote the De La Hoya fight.
Hatton wants Mayweather - when he says he wants fighters he means it. He said he wanted Tszyu about 3 years before the fight happened, he eventually got him. He said he wanted Castillo - he eventually got him. He isn't scared of nobody and he wants the challenges, if you cannot see that then you are deluded. He moved up in weight at 7 weeks notice, he went to America and headlined bills, he continues to prove his critics wrong. They said he would get destroyed by Tszyu, they said Castillo will expose him, they said he was a hometown fighter.
Well now he's a multi-time world champions, a 2 weight world champion... you can't expect much more but he is still pushing for it.
Hatton said he wanted Mayweather in 2005, yes... but during that time Mayweather was cherry picking his opponents moving up through the weights (you know, fighting a shot Gatti, Bruseles and Mitchell... who don't forget got his arse handed to him by Tszyu - who Hatton fought in that very year) and Arum was still nurturing Cotto.
I'm not saying Hatton isn't completely to blame for such fights not happening but to say he talks without backing it up is daft.

One more time, it did make monetary sense for mayweather, he got 8 millon anyways to fight the linear welterweight champ and made 20 million in his next fight.
lol.
Again ive seen you on ricky hatton forum, so i know what to expect, but i dont know how you can say floyd is lieing,
Or do you want me to post the links to hatton saying he wants mayweather next fight..............
THAT WAS IN 2005.
lol.

You are talking in a lot of ifs and buts here, unless you are a spy in Top Rank and Goldenboy then i don't find the majority of your reasoning credible. Floyd has openly stated that if it makes money, it makes sense - money means lots to Floyd so you think he would turn down that sort of money just because of a little spat with Bob Arum? If there WERE options in the contract then i can understand refusing it, but we don't have any such confirmation. Arum, after the money paid to Mayweather would STILL be in profit, so i doubt he would be too concerned if Mayweather won and fucked off.
In point 7, i take it you are referring to Baldomir? Have you got an article or something confirming the money Mayweather made for that fight?
I read the reports that Hatton wanted $13 million and that was way over the top, but we didn't know the options at that time. Either way, it was a demand way unrealistic, i agree, however, the man has a right to make as much money as he can. Also, you don't honestly believe the retirement talk? Mayweather never believed it himself - he's full of bullshit and lies.
One more time, it did make monetary sense for mayweather, he got 8 millon anyways to fight the linear welterweight champ and made 20 million in his next fight.

Okay, ive seen you on ricky hatton forum so i know you guys aren't up to date on everything, the floyd margarito offer was a bullshit offer here's why
1) Top rank and Golden boy refused to work together at that time
2) Mayweather wanted de la hoya, de la hoya would never have worked with arum at the time and made the fight happen
3) Mayweather left arum to start negotiations with De La Hoya
4) Arum then offered floyd 8 million to fight margarito most likely with options attached on floyd's fights, do you think arum would let floyd beat up margarito, take 8 million and leave for nothing?
no, because arum loses money on margarito
5) Arum knew mayweather wouldnt work with him again that why he made the offer, he knew it would get turned down
6) Arum then stated the 8 millon offer was a one off, it had to be done at that time or there was no 8 million, aka if floyd fought margarito it would jepordise his chances of fighting de la hoya, because he had to take the fight right away, or there was no 8 million dollars on the table.
7) Mayweather got 8 millon to fight the linear welterweight champ.
8) Mayweather then got the de la hoya fight and made 20 million.
Thats near enough what went on.
Now im not saying mayweather is gonna get 20 millon next fight, im telling you it will most likely be more than 10 millon, and if that is silly money
then why did hatton ask for 13 million in the 1st place?
Mayweather's biggest payday is 10 times the amount hatton's best is, mayweather isnt gonna come out of retirement to get the same money as hatton, when he can fight better fighters for more money, lol

Floyd won't be making that sort of money again ($20mill) - and the sole reason he did earn that much is because of Oscar De La Hoya. He was offered $8mill for Margarito and that would have been his biggest payday (many people at that time said it's a great offer and should be accepted). He's been offered $10 mill for Hatton and that would be his second biggest payday.
In terms of America, PBF has been fighting there all his life so the PPV there will be more people buying it due to seeing more of Mayweather, but Hatton has also built up a good American fanbase, those who have seen more fights than Hatton vs Urango/Collazo.
PPV numbers in the UK will do exceptional amounts, and in terms of fans going to the fight, 80% will be Hatton fans, 10% will be Floyd fans and the others will be businessmen/broadcast teams, etc.

So you're saying Hatton should bend over, take it up the arse and settle for 50p, a fight in a playground size ring with pillows for gloves? Sorry, but this is a massive fight and although Hatton doesn't have the upper hand in negotiations, he has every right to try and get some things on his terms. He is the BEST at 140. Mosley and Cotto haven't proven themselves as the BEST in their respective weight divisions.
Mayweather says he's the best in the world - the best in the world doesn't need a custom made ring with a contract to suit him 100%. The best in the world settle for a very good purse and get it on for legacy.
Let's not forget here, that the majority of people who will pay to see this fight will be Hatton fans. The majority of people who will pay PPV for this fight will be Hatton fans. Are you telling me Hatton should settle for letting Mayweather have the majority of the money that Hatton has brought in off his own back, hard work and style?
Yes, he should make sacrifices, but he DOES have a leg to stand on in negotiations. If the fight doesn't happen, it's a massive shame but both fighters will be to blame, as well as tv networks and promoters.
If the fight DOES happen it will be on terms both fighters are happy with - not on terms that one fighter gets the lions share of the money - i don't give a toss how good they are - particularly if that man can't fill a bus with his own fans.
Mayweather is the p4p champ and the main man in boxing right now
if Hatton truely wants to fight Floyd - which i think he doesnt
then he should move up to floyd's division - 147
come to america - which he did for his past 2 fights
and stop being a pussy and sign the contract
Hatton doesnt wanna fight Mayweather
he is just running his mouth to gain attention
who else will Hatton fight malinaggi??
Floyd could end up fighting mosley or cotto if the Hatton thing doesnt work out
so Hatton needs to step his game up if this fight is gonna happen
which i hope it does cuz it will be an entertaining fight and good for boxing
Again, its not about what WE want to happen, but what is LIKELY to happen.
And no, i dont hatton isnt gonna get anywhere near the money mayweather will if this fight happens, hatton's biggest payday is 2.5 million no? and he has never been on HBO ppv.
Mayweather made 20 million in his last fight, you do the math,
If Hatton asks for silly money again like he did last time, then the fight will never happen.
And in terms of PPV in america, hatton is NOT the draw, lol.
Please dont say he is, because otherwise HBO wouldn't have his fights on free to air. lol.

I live in london/surrey, hatton has support in the Uk, alot of which is exagerated alot on here, but on american PPV where americans buy the fights, he aint the draw.
Please dont say he is, because otherwise HBO wouldn't have his fights on free to air. lol.

we have argued this time and time again, no point anymore
Mayweather is a bum
Mayweather is scared of hatton
Hatton only wants to fight the best, so im assuming he will be fighting Paulie M or the winner of Witter and Harris in his next fight.
Hatton is a punk he wont even make a trip to 147! PBF made a trip from 130 to 150s. Hatton is pussy he wants a fight in his hometown. What hatton needs to understand is that PBF is ahead of his game he calls the fukin shots.
Contractually Hatton doesn't deal in contracts, it's normally based on a gentlemans handshake. The fact that there isn't a legal contract binding them at the minute doesn't take away from the fact that the offer is there. No details of the weight class were mentioned, but even if it was offered at 140, why not? Mayweather walks around at 150 and could make 140 easily. It's the opportunity for Mayweather to prove to the world he is the absolute best in 5 divisions. He beat nobody of worth in 140, totally bypassing Hatton and Cotto.
There is no problem trying to get the fight in the UK - surely it's an ambition of Floyd's to go and do the business in another country... and fight in a stadium which exceeds the attendance for any fight he'll have in the USA. The offer was the first offer and there is no doubt they will be negotiating some points. I'm sure Hobson didn't expect it to be accepted straight away, but it's a starting point and it indicates Hatton is serious about wanting this fight!
As i have said before, its not what WE want to happen, it's what is LIKELY to happen.

Hobson is NOT hatton's promoter, hatton is a free agent, he isnt signed to a network as far as i know either, because his contract with HBO Expired.
Also Hatton and warren agreed to work with each other as part of Warren agreeing not to sue ray Hatton.
Aka, that Hobson 'offer' meant nothing for the following reasons
1) He isnt even Hatton's promoter
2) No weight class was specified, we only saw the bit say 10 million dollars, lol
3) The fight will NOT happen at 140, so if the offer was for 140 its a joke
4) The offer was to fight in the UK, ray hatton has admitted the fight can only happen in the USA, so why would they make an offer they know is going to get turned down?
Very simple.

Good point, but I just don't think this is the case here. I don't think Hatton's ever wanted this fight regardless of what he says
Hatton's promoter has offered a contract to Floyd, so how the f*ck did you come to that conclusion?
The delay is likely that negotiations are going on between Hatton's management, TV networks AND Hatton's promotion - whether he will stay with Hobson or have some sort of deal with Golden Boy - or even the dealings with Frank Warren!
PBF, Cotto or DLH are all good with me. Even Paulie as a last resort but fuck Witter and Harris.
Yeah, i really think de la hoya is just fucking with floyd, i dont think he any intention of coming to england and fighting hatton.
Cotto would be at 147, i think hatton will stay at 140 regardless.
But yeah those are all acceptable fights.
