why???
what is so intruiging about this matchup in your eyes??
i'd rather see floyd fight cotto and or hatton
besides if floyd ends up fighting mosley, i predict floyd would be able to beat him
and if floyd in fact beats mosley most of you guys wont give the man credit and will say "he shoulda fought cotto... or he shoulda fought hatton.."
and i dont think mosley truely has the desire to fight floyd
if he wanted to he coulda last year but he opted not to becuz his tooth aches
true, but judah has very fast hands, and mosley is fast himself but not like judah. mosley was like judah when he was at 135 but zab was still faster at 147. the thing with shane is that shane has good fundamentals but he can tend to get too aggressive and look sloppy in doing this. against floyd who has great foot movement and fast upperbody movement this is not smart. shane fights with a lot of pride so when he gets hit he has to instantly throw punches back, but he does so in a awkward manner. he did against oscar and against forrest to name a couple and look what forrest did to him. people felt that oscar won the rematch, so against floyd who may not have the power those two had, but is much better skilled than oscar and better polished than vernon especially on the defensive end, mosley wouldn't be able to land effectivley against floyd imo. shane would have to punch like williams does to keep up with floyd, floyd woudn't because of how accurate he is and because he doesn't have to have a high punch output to win rounds. why? he uses the ring very well and his defense is 2nd to none. he doesn't have to dodge punches all of the time, as he blocks very effectively and can counter right after he blocks a punch. also, he times you great so even when floyd throws punches to your gloves and you block them, he's only setting up another punch that you can't see coming because of his speed. it could be a jab to the body, a left hook upstairs, or a straught right hand to the body or upstairs. he reads his opponents it seems like. i have watched every mayweather fight in depth and he is that good in the ring. i also have watched most of shane's matches in depth and he is a great fighter who makes too many mistakes that floyd would capatalize off of.
for instance, shane closes his eyes when he swings, and this would prove unwise against floyd because he watches facial expressions as well as his opponents shoulders. when shane gets hit, of course his eyes will close but then he chooses to punch back right away while his eyes are still closed, and against floyd who would most likely tie him up or block his punches and then counter with a left hook or right hand, that would be a bad move for shane.
another bad tendency of shane is that in big fights against top notch opponents, seeing how he fights like a warrior and with a lot of pride, he shows off a lot of aggression against opponents who can handle his speed or who have more speed than him, and he punches himself out when it looks like he's being outboxed or outworked. he did against vernon and winky and even oscar and collazo. he tires out although he had good stamina but floyd will catch him and because of how effective floyd can use the ring to utilize his offense from a defensive postion shane would be outboxed and if shane goes all out to impress the crowd, he will tire out and floyd will tag him up all night. shane goes away from his defense when he does this and since he has a good chin he'll allow himself to be hit especially when he punches himself out. floyd rarely punches himself out and when he does, he has his great defense to fall back on and he is so smart, that even if the crowd boos him he stays in his zone and it's looks like he's fighting in front of nobody, just him in the gym against his opponent. floyd can take the crowd out of the fight and then he fights his fight. shane has to please the crowd and in doing so, especially against a mayweather jr, it would prove a bad decision. floyd is methodical in the ring, which is why nobody from 154 down will defeat him. he'll have good fighters to face, but nobody will defeat him, and shane is apart of the nobody. and this is taking nothing form shane, but floyd mayweather has a gift and has toned his skills up so well to complement his gift, added to that is knowledge of the sport and his fighting family background, floyd mayweather knows boxing like nobody else. he knows how to win under any circumstance under any condition, under any advesity whether he is cheered or booed heavily, whether his name is bashed or chanted, it doesn't matter and he tells people the media this all the time. he trains like no one else in boxing. his work ethic in preparing for a fight is damn near flawless. he trains like he is going to go in the ring and have an all out war, but fights so smart and never really has a high punch output like you would think, but his accuracy is always high, his defensive is always in tact, his foot movement is always great, his upperbody movement is always fast a on point, his timing is amazing, and his ring savvyness and generalship are near perfection, and throughout this, he fights at his own pace whether he looks aggressive or not, and this is part of his unique mystique and which is why he will not be defeated and will offcially retire undefated. floyd mayweather jr was born in the ring, this was his destiny and whether you love him or hate his guts, you can't take away from him his gift. he is the greatest fighter of his generation, bar none.
good post man, right on point! one of the best posts i ever read. good job man.
personally I think PBF's speed is overrated. hes fast, but there is faster. his accuracy and timing are great. I see him possably loosing to shane. at the very least it should be competitive as shane will not be easily outboxed and has longer arms, is stronger and has a better chin.
mosley has more power than floyd, and is not as fast but still would have enough speed to stay with him, so it'd be interesting to see how they would match up
But both Cotto and Hatton are dangerous fights for Floyd. If he was able to beat either of them, then how could anyone take credit away from him. Those two are like the top 2 contenders right now. I don't give a shit about Paul Williams, that 6'3 ass should be in a different weight class. I don't understand how the hell cotto, hatton, or floyd could figth a 6'3 welter-weight with 83 arm-reach. It's lame that he's in that weight class.
Actually, Cotto and Hatton would be very easy fights for Floyd. Cotto is way to slow and his chin would get checked quite often. Hatton's lack of technique would expose him and make him vulnerable and easy for Floyd to hit. Mosley on the other had has quick hands, a good chin and matches up very well with Floyd. This would be a great fight.

I would like to see PBF fight Mosely because of the fact that Mosely can come close to matching the athletic ability of Floyd. I know he's older but his athletic ability and boxing skills are still better than most. In past fights it's been shown that if your slow on foot and in the hands, PBF is going to pick you apart and win an easy UD. I feel Mosely could present some problems and keep active enough so the Mayweather doesn't dictate the pace. Im not saying Mosely would beat Floyd, but I think he could give him a really good fight and out of Hatton, Cotto and himself would have the best chance of winning.
Because Mosley will bring the best out of Mayweather.
He can match his speed and skill... and that will make a competitive fight for both.. it will be nice to see two boxing virtuosos trying to figure each other out and throwing combinations to score points..
Both Hatton and Cotto are very dangerous punchers.. and again, Floyed will not stand there and exchange (especially Cotto) it will be a repeat of Baldy or DLH... Punch and Run... Punch and Run...
Mosley can't match PBF skill because he was never as skilled as PBF. Also Mosley is not as fast as he used to be. All that said I still think it would be a pretty good fight.
I think Mayweather can beat Wlad as well. He can go to the body and make Wlad miss all the time. eventually Wlad will tire out and those body punches will accumulate to Floyd knocking Wlad out!
BTW, Mayweather stops a prime Ali also..
:kabong:
So here is an idea... As we already know the outcome so well, let's just say we already saw all 3 of those fights and why don't we all send Mayweather his share of the gate plus PPV for those 3 fights, so that he can safely retire :pat:
lol... that was actually funny. maybe i did sound a little ignorant in that post, my bad. but i do think that floyd outboxes mosley, if i'm wrong, i'm wrong, but i think he outboxes him easily, just like u think mosley will make it a tough fight
floyd outboxes mosley as many rounds as mosley wants to fight. floyd stops hatton. floyd beats cotto too, i'm thinkin by a UD or SD, but IMO that is the most dangerous fight for floyd at this point in all of their careers.

Mosley is the most talented out of himself, Hatton or Cotto and has the best chance of the three by far of beating Floyd. Thats the reason i want to see this fight. Mosley age doesnt come into it because he clearly isn't shot so if Floyd beat him i would give him massive credit and respect him 100 times more than i do now.
I agree with you i think mosley is better than hatton and cotto
and i think mosley looks good for his age and clearly isnt shot
but you know as well i know that if they fought and if floyd was able to beat mosley everyone would make up tons of excuses and say that mosley was old
just like they did with oscar even though it wasnt the case
floyd still wont get respect if he is able to beat mosley
Everyone talks about the first four rounds of the Zab fight, but no one talks about the game plan floyd had for that fight.... Which was to let zab get of and drag him to the late rounds
^^^^^^^^
exactly
Floyd will never fight Mosely because he's knows he will lose.
how so??
Floyd challenged Mosley last year and Mosley refused to fight
floyd outboxes mosley as many rounds as mosley wants to fight. floyd stops hatton. floyd beats cotto too, i'm thinkin by a UD or SD, but IMO that is the most dangerous fight for floyd at this point in all of their careers.

It wasn't Judah's handspeed that was giving PBF problems early in that fight. I think PBF wanted to stand and trade with Judah but Judah came out boxing. After 3 rounds PBF realized Judah wasn't going to stand and trade PBF changed his game plan and beat the total shit out of Judah. Also Mosley does not have GREAT fundamentals. Has good to average fundamentals with great atheletic ability. Mosley gets very sloppy in the ring sometimes and leaves himself wide open. Which why he lost to Forrest because he was a better technical boxer than Mosley and PBF is also and is probably faster at this point and has always been more accurate.
PBF's workrate means nothing in his future fights. Why isb it so hard for yall people to realize he does enough for him to get the win and thats it. If he needs to pick up the pace he will he has done it before so why wouldn't he now. PBF has not shown anything to make ME believe that he couldn't pick up the pace if he needed to.
the most dangerous fight for floyd in WW is cotto, cuz he is crazy strong and relentless, and has great heart. hatton is a joke to put in the ring with mayweather, mosley would be a little trick for 3-4 rounds, but then floyd will put the puzzle together, like with all his fights when he appears not to be dominating at first, and then annihilates his opposition. no one 154 and down can beat floyd.
Mosley is the bigger, stronger fighter, with heavier hands and a proven chin. He's been in there with much bigger fighters, and has loads of experience. All that being said he also has heart and the speed to match Floyd. Personally, I think both Cotto and Hatton would get picked apart by Floyd.
I have similar thoughts....
Some would say Mosley throws a lot of punches, and has good handspeed. Also he is fast like Floyd. That's why some believe he could outwork Floyd and they think it would be too much for Floyd to handle.
Mosley has decent pop and a good beard, also is fast and has GREAT fundementals. Stays busy. It'd be nice to see someone like that against the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Plus Mosley is STILL more proven then Cotto or Hatton is. Truth be told, he's fought the best and beaten all but two of them.
In the first four rounds against Judah it was apparent that good handspeed could give Floyd a little trouble. Mosley has that handspeed.
I agree. Shane would probably give Floyd similar fits like Judah did, but for maybe a few more rounds, and without the intentional low blows.:boxing:
