Fight of the year was on ESPN 2 and has not yet been topped - pure drama and excitement and very competitve.
You don't need household names for fight of the year.
Darrell Woods vs. Sam Miller
Barrera-Marquez was good
It was a amazing fight, and is also a candidate for FOTY,it seemed like it happened last year,we've had so many great fights people forgot it :p
:ugh: Khan vs Limond picked up in the last two rounds, before that,it was a standard fight, with Khan just trying the 1-2's,nothing more,Willie didnt pick it up until round 6 or 7
well the first 5 rounds or Margarito Williams was pretty boring too.. A boring Jab fest.. At least Khan Limond.. featured some Knock downs...
I am surprised you found The other fight so enjoyable.. You want to talk about STANDARD performances??
To me it was Just an average fight.. What you would expect from such a tall guy VS a Slugger..
Well I saw The British Fights as well last night.. And Kahn Limond was much more exciting..

Of course it was,Gatti-Gomez & Cintron-Matthyse sure as hell wasnt better, but Cintron got the KO of the night, and maybe of the year

It wasn't even FIGHT OF THE NIGHT....

No but it was a good fight and competitive. It was great to see Paul take a good shot and come right back firing. This kid has a lot of heart and is as tough as they come.
For me, Pavlik-Miranda was definitely(lennox) FOTY; I was on my seat from the opening bell until the KO....Just no-stop action with both fighters throwing bombs the whole way...
So was i and everyone in my house, watching it live was crazy, the Sky Sports version was better then HBO,HBO made it look like it was a beatdown, but i think Miranda was in it until the knockdown,he was landing pretty good shots, watch the Sky version, you will apreaciate it even more
FOTY candidates need to be competitive. This fight was not competitive. Margarito lost the moment Williams through his first jab.
Williams was in absolute control of the fight 95% of ever round. Margarito has spot he did well with 2-3 punch combos, followed by Williams immediate seizure of control.
When Margarito hit him hard, he came back at him and asserted his dominance. Margarito only had one round that he really won decisively; Paul Williams was resting.
Margarito did get in some good body shots, but they never seemed to effect Williams much past the initial pain he experienced. They didn't stop his upper body movement. They didn't weaken his legs. They didn't make him cover up.
Simply put, Margarito was dominated.
ya i think you were watching a diff fight
i scored this 115-113
thats as close as it gets
