I had a feeling this would happen. My question is, where were these threads before tonight? Cintron didnt do anything new. Matthysse never had a chance.
margarito whooped cintron's ass, he bullied him, and u don't think that cotto would bully him worse, hahahaha.... cotto would pummel him, no more than 4 rounds, cotto KO
what happened to when everyone said cintron was just a bum prospect with margarito TKO'd him. now hes getting matched up with cotto?? ....
well my friend people change some become better and some become worst. And Cintron in Margarito fight was a different Cintron than he is now.
Cintron is good a clam with his jabs.
Cotto need to get near to excute his left hook it would be similar to Tyson-Lewis when Cotto gets in Cintron is going to hit with a right and uppercuts and if he is far out he jabs depend on how Cotto is abl to get in.
Cotto the best bodypuncher and Cintron the hardest punchers at WW
CINTRONS NEVER BEEN HURT AS BAD AS COTTO ,cINTRON WILL BECOME SLOWLY THE KING OF pUERTO rICO IF cOTTO FIGHTS cOTTO AND BEATS HIM, bASED ON TODAY ID LOVE TO SEE A REMATCH OF MARGARITO VS CINTRON NOW THAT cINTRON HAS EMMANUEL sTEWARD
you want some BBQ sauce for those cintron balls?
I see what you're saying, but I really don't think he'll make a big wave because he'll never beat a good, polished fighter.
For all of Cotto's weaknesses, and we all know he has some, he's shown he has the heart of a champion, has the maturity of a champion, and has been in there with really good fighters.
Cintron on the other hand, has been in with...Margarito I guess? And he got clobbered? He hasn't really been in with anyone except fighters with questionable defense where he can easily land his big shots and make it look good. Whenever he steps up in class again, it'll be a different story.
Maybe I just don't like him because he showed his lack of heart with Margarito, but when I see him fight, I see a fighter with a big punch, but no polish. Not as bad as Mayorga, but still. Someone who has to land a big flush right hand to win a fight, and can't win it on anything else, and will just fold under pressure.
I think you misunderstood what I meant by "making things up". Obviously, a lot of what you said is true, and Cotto does get caught more than he should, but what I meant by "making things up" is that you're making up a scenario which would be like me saying before the Tyson-Lewis fight "Lewis has been caught flush before and knocked out by McCall and Rahman, if Tyson catches him flush, he'll be in trouble."
No shit. Cintron is a big puncher, and Cotto would be in trouble with a flush right hand by him, as would EVERY SINGLE WELTERWEIGHT OUT THERE. The point is to not get hit with flush shots, and break down the body so even a flush shot doesn't connect full force.
As far as the times he's been hurt, ALL of those punches were legitimate punches by decent punchers. He was never hurt by Quintana, so I don't know what that's about, but he was hurt by Judah which has some pop, he was hurt by Torres which has a ridiculous KO percentage and has some pop also. The only questionable one is Corley, because it didn't seem like a flush shot, and Cotto's walked thru shots which looked stronger, so all I can think of is he was hit on the temple and it somehow fucked up his equilibrium.
Point is, Cotto doesn't have a glass chin, and even though of course he would be hurt by a flush shot from a big puncher, I don't see him losing by KO to Cintron, who folded with his tail between his legs when the pressure was put on him by Margarito.
He got hurt by Corley because he was catching those right hooks constantly. He'd taken about 8 or 10 in a row, before actually getting hurt.
Quitana....I don't know, I might be thinking of another fight. I haven't seen that one in awhile, might be confusing it with another Cotto opponent.
And I wouldn't mention being hurt big by Cintron if Cotto wasn't prone to taking shots to get inside and do his bodywork. That's the way he works, and he's great to watch because of it, but it'll cause him problems if he doesn't figure out another way against huge punching opponents. The kid's proven he's got the heart and will to get up and win, but against a puncher like Cintron, he might not be able to get up. I wouldn't compare Cintron to Tyson's power (respectively speaking). Comparatively speaking, it's more like Foreman's power. Big-motherfucking one-punch power, and the kid is very, very accurate. He'd be extremely dangerous for Cotto to take on, any way you look at it. He's got fast hands, counters very well, great accuracy, and incredible power. If his head (and heart) ever gets on straight (and with Stewart as a trainer, it might happen), he'll be a big ass wave in the division.
Making things up? What, exactly, do you think I'm making up? Do you think Cotto hasn't been hurt in some of his last 5 or 6 fights, seriously a couple of times? Corley (never a big puncher) had him doing the chicken dance, for Christ's sake. Branco and Quintana both had him hurt, too. So did Judah. None of these guys can punch like Cintron. What do you think will happen if Cotto gets caught flush in the first 30 seconds of a round by one of those Cintron freight-trains? It'll be a miracle if he gets up, and the second-coming if he makes it through the round. And Cotto is hittable. Or do you think I'm making that up too?
I'm not saying Cotto's chin isn't OK, but he has a tendancy to get caught more than he should, and pays the price. It's just a result of his style. And I'm not saying he can't beat Cintron, either. I'm just giving my opinion of how I think it most likely to play out. Notice that I didn't need to "make shit up" this time either.

Hey I respect that, we can debate without going to verbal attacks, but lets be honest, you saying cotto would lose based on what cintron did today, and it doesnt work like that, you should know that. I apologize.
I didn't say he would lose. I said that if Cintron caught him flush, early in a round, he'd be in bigger trouble than ever before, might not even make the count. What I said, in my first post, where I actually made a prediction, was that I felt that either Cotto would KO Cintron early, or would get caught flush in mid to late rounds and lose. The fight isn't even remotely possible right now, and I'm not too concerned about whether I'm accurate, or which scenario would most likely be the actual case. It was just a snap-call. I haven't seen Cintron fight for awhile, and would have to see him a couple more times before I'd make a really serious call. You should go back earlier in the thread and read it.
You ought not to immediately assume someone hates a fighter if he doesn't think he can beat the entire world every day. That isn't reality, and whatever else I may be, I'm a realist. I like Cotto, he's one of my favorites, but he does get hit, and Cintron is nobody he wants to get hit by. The redeeming factor is that he's always in great shape, and usually doesn't start actually getting caught flush until mid to late rounds, after he's already taken some starch out of the other guy with that great bodywork.

www.getyourmoneyup.com go check that out. and know about me, a real boxer unlike you. FAN!
A real boxer...wow, I'm impressed. Seriously, I'm glad to see kids who have the guts to step into a ring, but don't talk shit to me about guts, kid. I'm a 42 year old combat veteran who's seen action on 3 continents, most likely while you were still in diapers. Boxing is a sport that I enjoy watching, and even at my age, I wouldn't mind stepping into the ring, if I didn't have to worry about busting up the repairs from snrapnel injuries. My point? I'm a warrior. You're an athlete.
Yah your IQ is so bright, that you asking me what you made up, I didn't say that, that was Sasho. Admit it you a hater, cause I don't care about your predictions, that doesn't mean you can't hate based on your predictions. I predict Mayweather wins all the time, and I hate that punk= hating. When 2 boxers fight, anything can happend, I'm not saying Cotto will beat Cintron, but based on the past, Cotto wins easily, Cause 1. Cotto gets hurts, gets up, or recovers and knocks out the opponent, 2. Cintron gets hurts, knocked out, and is crying. See the difference?
Ok, I get it now. You're too stupid to understand anything at all, and I shouldn't have bothered even reading your post, much less replying to it. Won't make that mistake again.

Shasho knows what's his talking about, unlike stickman, who sees someone i never heard of,get wuped by cintrin, and automaticly is beating cotto with his superior punching power? Yeah right, im PR and that doesnt mean shit to me, im just a man who knows Cotto has been rocked, yeah he was rocked, by he never loses, maybe one day, and ok Judah hit him with a devastating upper cut that probably would have had cintron out cold, but it didnt even make Cotto touch the canvas, and when torres knocked down cotto, he pushed him down, you can even see cottos face, cotto was noding,no! to the ref has to say he pushed me, althought at that moment he was hurt, but still, he was pushed. and where do ya get that bullshyt that cotto only fought judah? doesnt it say 30-0? he would be 1-0 if he only fought judah, you would know he fought more than judah if you box, which i bet you dont. bitch ass hater.
Did you even read my post? Or is your english too poor to comprehend it? I'm a Cotto FAN, you idiot. Look on the other thread, where I actually typed out my entire prediction of how the fight might go. I actually called for an early KO by Cotto.
Hater....what a moron. Grow a fucking I.Q.
And again, tell me what I was making up?
And another thing. You don't know who Matthysse is? I think you're the fucktard who doesn't know boxing.

He's only been down once, true, but he's taken the trip down queer street several times. The kid's always in great shape, which helps him alot, but if he were to get caught flush by Cintron, conditioning won't matter much. He'll have to grab hold and hope he makes it through the round, if he can even beat the count.
Well you're making things up which is irrelevant. If any big puncher catches any superior fighter flush, superior fighter is in trouble.
That's where Cotto's heart comes in, which Crybaby Cintron apparently doesn't have after seeing the Margarito fiasco. Not to mention Cotto's crushing body blows will break Cintron down...
Cintron would be taking a HUGE step up in class if he fights Cotto right now, and I'll gain a little respect for him if he takes the fight, but he will get crushed in the same way Margarito did.
Sure he looks good against C class fighters like Matthyse who have no defense, who don't attack the body, etc...but once he steps up in class again, it's the Margarito fight all over again.
mmmm probably would happen but i think fans in PR don't want it they hate to see 2 puertoricans fighting each other i think cintron should fight mosley and a rematch with margarito and cotto well hatton, mayweather if they dare.
